I recognize the username but never read, or don't remember, your posts to know your "personality."

Way to go for being self-important. ;)

Suuuuuuuure...as long as you make sense to yourself.

You popped in, made a snap judgment and the conversation stopped. Not what I was looking for, but I guess it's preferable to ignorant ranting of which there was some earlier in the thread. (Not so much from you, but the usual stuff when we talk about race in the context of elite fraternities.)

Not so much self-important but I thought I embarrassed myself in persistent argument to be more memorable than I wanted to be. I assumed that because I knew you, you would know me, but alas I've been disabused of that notion.

From my perspective, the convo only stopped because the two of you started a rather insular back and forth. I thought DST made a pretty good summation of sasquatch's position, and I would have liked to delve into it a bit further. If not for judgements made off another's post, would there be any conversation at this point at all?

Sometimes that is necessary but it usually isn't and is generally annoying. Like the world will explode if you make a statement that others have to actually use their brains to figure out isn't 100% applicable.

Did you read all the stuff about jeans today?

I didn't make a snap judgment. I read the post and responded.

Again, if you want to control the convo, PM someone. What's preferable to you doesn't dictate what everyone else types about.

You're probably right.

But since sasquatch didn't post again, I guess there's not much to say.

:(

It could've been more entertaining. I like jokes.

Well, he did reply to my question here, which I was going to get into a bit more but it seemed a little pointless since you guys were going in a different direction. :) I'd be curious if anyone else was as surprised as me at the insinuation that a chapter would attract more or less the exact type of member for an extended period. Seems to me that individual chapters have more variance than that, but perhaps that is just at the universities with which I am familiar...

Right, so that's why I think from now on, I'm going with the extremely limited claim.

Excuse me, I meant to say, in my experience, I'm going with the extremely limited claim.

*whispering*

We see the posters lurking in the bushes as they wait for the unsuspecting poster to stop moderating the thread so closely. When they see an opportunity they might care to jump on it. Might.
