lol I saw that on espn.com and wondered how long it would take for you to post in this thread. ;) but that is exactly how I felt during the robinson/hackett years at SC.

I'm very proud that my hometown produced this year's Heisman Trophy winner, especially since he writes our area code on his eye black :D |
yep, no doubt about it Reggie's going to win the Heisman, bring USC's total Heisman winners to 7. That will tie us with Notre Dame for most Heismans by school.

check this out, a link to what players recieve as gifts for playing in the various bowl games.

The Sugar Bowl was AWESOME
Congrats to DGQueen17 and the mountaineers Watching the fans in the stands was awesome. Such die hards UGA has nothing to be ashamed of. They lost to a good team, and fought back valiantly |
The Outback Bowl featured what was hands-down the WORST officiating I have ever seen in my entire life. It's one thing to lose when you deserve to lose, but another thing entirely when the refs are up the ass of the opposing team. I mean, come on -- Florida had an extra player on the field who ran RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF on his way off the field and no call. And dude offsides during the on-side kick? Not even CLOSE you bastards. I don't even remember the other stupid calls but even the announcers were all WTF.

Which is why I don't get why conferences like the Sun Belt and Atlantic 10 get to officiate games between, for instance, the SEC and Big Ten. They said it perfectly after the stupid onside kick call: This game is too fast for these refs. That's why I think NFL ref teams should consider getting paid extra to do these games (as an option). Watching Big Ed ref USC and Texas would be classic.

I was very happy to see Notre Dame LOSE. :D

One comment about the use of instant replay. Thankfully, the call, reversing the ruling on the field, awarding Notre Dame a touchdown didn't have an effect on the final outcome of the game, because there is a very good chance it was wrong. Notice that I didn't say is was wrong, but that there is a good chance it was. Here's why. Unless the camera that took that replay was EXACTLY on the end zone line, the way the ball appeared to cross the plane of the goal could have been off by several inches -- easily enough to make it appear to be a TD -- or not, if the camera was "off" in the other direction. The height of the football and the camera lens can also distort the view. (Draw a line and lay a football with the tip almost touching the line, then move to the right or left of the line, and you will see what I mean. Now have somebody hold the football higher, keeping it in the same vertical plane, or squat or stand up and see how different the outcome could be.) I was absolutely amazed that the ruling on the field was reversed on the strength of a single angle. (Although it cold have been right, as well) Again, thankfully, it didn't change the outcome of the game. Anyway, I'm sure Mrs. DA's family is happy today, most of them being Ohio State graduates. |

I agree. I was pretty amazed that they ruled it on just one angle. I thought the same thing, it could have gone the other way if the camera angle was a few feet the opposite side of the goal line. It was a pretty good game, and Troy Smith played exceptionally well. It is also funny that AJ Hawk is sleeping with Brady Quinns sister. Can you imagine the smack talk all night? GRRRRR I'll BE SAYIN HI TO YOUR SISTER TONIGHT BRADY! |
