I see often chapters get way over Quota. Are people including new members from COB? Or do these schools not follow the rules for Quota Additions/Snap Bidding?

A chapter that is not at total can extend bids to eligible women up to total, even if the chapter matched quota in formal recruitment, had quota additions and offered snap bids. Eligible women could include women who participated in formal recruitment that did not ISP but were not matched, went to one or more pref parties but did not sign a preference card, dropped out during earlier rounds of recruitment, or who never participated in formal recruitment at all.

I don't really think there are quota addition rules to break, in regards to a chapter going "way over" Quota. The RFM Specialist and Greek Advisor consider many things when placing the quota additions, including chapter size, retention, and recruitment strength (and of course PNM preference). So, I don't think it's an issue of the school not following rules, unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

Exactly. To wit:

That's the only "way over" that I see nearby (not going back over the entire thread). If there are ones you have questions about - call 'em out, please, rather than halfheartedly slinging mud.

Mevara 11-04-2010 11:06 PM

How was my question slinging mud at anyone? I just want to better understand the process and was asking for people to clarify.

I was under the impression that no group may exceed quota by more than 5% of Quota. Also snap bidding is not intended to fill spaces in the chapter Total but only to reach quota.
