Ok, so quota was 24...the biggest NM class we've had before this was 13 or 14. *Ahem*

The Eta Mu chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma (at UC Santa Cruz) has 24 new members!!!! I'm BEYOND thrilled! My chapter did a great job, and we have amazing NMs!

Gamma Phi Beta has 31 new members, btw. (Epsilon Omicron chapter) Congrats!

HI irishpipes and others.

Total at Syracuse is now 111, according to the campus paper:

http://media.www.dailyorange.com/med...-3471027.shtml

The article says that two sororities -- not named -- are doing informal recruitment (COB, I suppose) this fall; I gather they want to get close to or at the new total figure.

Previously total was 95, the article says.

I can't wait until the green light is given to bring one more group to campus. ;) :p

Wow...I never realized that Syracuse at one time or another has had a chapter of every NPC organization. I'm too lazy to look, but are there any other campuses that can claim that?

Penn State has had every NPC sorority on their campus at one point in time... except AST

You know....I counted and thought they had them all on Irishpipes list, but Iota Alpha Pi was on the list which screwed up my count.

It's funny how much you notice about your GLO when you're NOT in school. I went to school in PA, and there are a ton of AST chapters in the state. But yea, they're not on many large campuses, and they're not spread out across the country as much as other GLOs. I'm not exactly sure as to why that is, though. And I guess I never truly took notice of that fact until I was out of school.

This quote was referring to Syracuse. On that campus, however, 15 out of 27 sororities have closed, 3-4 have closed in the last 10 years, and there has been only one successful (re)colonization since 1946.

I know absolutely nothing about Syracuse. But, even with the recent increase in Greek life interest, wouldn't those statistics be red flags to an NPC expansion committee?
