Thank you Nebraska. Because of you, my Cyclones now stand a shot of winning the Big XII North title. I can't believe I cheered for the Huskers today., felt a bit strange. Hopefully my 'Clones can pull off the W tomorrow.

That was one ugly game.

What a freakin GREAT game!!!! Yeah, my Ags lost, but they FINALLY showed the talent they have and played their asses off!!!!!! I was SO proud of them today! :)

Now let's see if that was good enough for Coach Fran to keep his job for the last year of his contract. :p

Beta, it was actually two sections. sCUm sucks, and they proved it on national tv!
They need to build a new stadium in Boulder.

Some years ago, they expanded the seating by digging downward (instead of building upward) and taking out the track that most stadiums still have. That means that the sidelines are mabye two yards deep -- and I think dangerous for the players. Beyond that, though, it means that the "fans" are within 10-12 feet of the benchs. That just lends itself to abusive fan behavior and idiocy on thier behalf. Most stadiums have considerably more seperation between fans and players.

Not that some of the folks in Boulder need the help, but the Folsom Field atmosphere -- and beer sales -- are not catalysts for good things.

NOTE: As I recall, when there were alcohol deaths in the Greek Systems at Colorado and Colorado State last year, CSU banned beer sales at the stadium. A PR move at best, but CU never did to the best of my knowledge. (CSU reinstated sales later, I think.) When Bill McCartney, born again Christian and founder of Promise Keepers, was coach at Colorado, he tried to get beer sales banned in the stadium. I don't think it ever happened. It's profitible. Of course people would sneak in stuff, or just show up drunk anyway, but sales in the stadium don't help the situation there.

I agree that it is dangerous for the players...I seem to remember some play, years ago in a CU - NU game, where the Husker QB (Mickey Joseph? Keithen McCants?) got hit out of bounds very, very late and was literally thrown into one of the benches...I was probably about 6 or 7 at the time, and mainly remember how much my dad was yelling at the TV, so I might have this confused with some other opponent.

I thought it was strange that they cleared the section this year, given that during all those games while McCartney was still in Boulder where there was snow on the ground, the fans routinely through snowballs and iceballs at the players with nothing ever happening.

Bill McCartney is from my hometown! And Loyd Carr's brother in law I believe?

What teams are playing in which bowls this year?

ISUKappa 11-26-2005 05:08 PM

I hate you Kansas. And I hate you, too, Coach Mac. We had it and pissed it away as usual. What were you thinking? We never win in overtime! Argh!!!!!!

How can we beat A&M and Colorado but lose to Kansas? Argh!!!!!!

At least this saves us an ass-whipping from Texas.

We'll be lucky to get the Houston bowl now.

Fresno State nearly beats USC then they lose to Nevada this week? Notre Dame nearly loses to Stanford. College football is a funny thing.

Proudly reporting that the mighty Big Red Hoosiers won every game in which the defense held opponents to 38 pts. or less.
