Have to add Janet Jackson to the list now!

I've seen Peter, Paul and Mary several times, but my DH never has. Weird, because he's been to at least hundreds more concerts than I. Although Mary has left us, we're going to see Peter and Paul next month - it was my birthday present!

BTW, their concerts are the most FUN concerts I've ever attended!

Seeing the Zac Brown Band next month...I'm really excited because I've heard they're great in concert.

Lonestar, Third Eye Blind, Tyler Farr/Florida Georgia Line/Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch/Randy Houser/Luke Bryan. Dying to see Aerosmith.

OK, I am going to tell my age and granted I was "very young". I think 4th grade but my first rock concert was Elvis Presley at the Mayfair Building at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler, Texas. A lot of the greats came through that fair. So much fun!

* Rolling Stones (twice, eighth row-floor for one of them)
* Madonna
* U2 (4 times)
* David Bowie (twice)
* Metallica (with Linkin Park, Deftones, Limp Bizkit)
* Paul McCartney
* Bjork
* Green Day (3 times, dislocated rib at one show)
* Pearl Jam (twice, + Eddie Vedder solo one time)
* Beck (many times)
* R.E.M. (a few times)
* Jay-Z (nearly suffocated in pit, had to be pulled out)
* Taylor Swift
* Coldplay (5 times, at the edge of the catwalk-main floor for one show)
* Lionel Richie
* Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (multiple times, once they had Eddie Vedder and Stevie Nicks as guests for the same show; I went nuts)

Peter, Paul, and Mary. Got to meet them backstage as I was an officer of a state student government association. Mary asked if she could participate in our conference, a Human Relations conference. We said "Yes!" with alacrity and put her on a panel. They had just come from Selma. Mary was a very dynamic and committed woman. The men not so much. One was interested in solely where he could play golf the next day.

Linda Ronstadt before she became really famous. Was at a tiny hole in the wall in DC. Wonderful.

The Seldom Scene, both when they started out playing in a hole in the wall in the DC area and where we now live.

Robin and Linda Williams. They live right down the road from us and we have seen them, met them, and talked with them many, many times. Terrific performers and human beings.

Garrison Keillor. Robin and Linda Williams above brought him to our parts. Got to see the concert then meet and talk with him afterwards. Hadn't realized he was so tall!

Now classical as I have very eclectic taste in music.

The Academy of Saint Martins in the Field. Mesmerizing.

Many concerts in Dallas, the DC area, and Vienna, Austria. The Musikverein gives chills and heard world class orchestras there.

Our very gifted internationally known musicians who come to perform here for ten days in the summer.

Can I include opera? The most spectacular have been in the Staatsoper in Vienna, Austria. Just seeing a performance there is an event. My dream is to see Placido Domingo perform. He makes this old married woman weak in the knees!

Two of the worst concerts I attended were Lauryn Hill and Rihanna. I think Rihanna was on something because she looked and sounded terrible - and was late getting on stage.

I saw Linda Ronstadt, too, but she did too much jazz and Nelson Riddle stuff for my liking. I prefer her big hits. It was also a short concert with no encore.

Saw Mint Condition a few months ago.

Thinking of seeing Lalah Hathaway either in Detroit or Cleveland in June.

Krewella, Steve Aoki, Axwell Ingrosso, Calvin Harris, Afrojack,St. John, Vice

X, Simple Minds, General Public, U2, Crowded House (3x), Aerosmith, Chris Issak (2x), 10,000 Maniacs, B52's, Adam Ant, Stevie Nicks, Kings of Leon, Peter Gabriel, Eagles, Glenn Fry, Bryan Adams, ...I'm starting to forget a few of them. LOL

Needless to say many of these concerts were in the 80'sn and 90's. My husband and I recently returned to our younger years and began going to shows again when we didn't need a sitter.

I have gone full circle. In my youth I worked concerts (paid gig I think $10 cash per concert) and now I volunteer at concerts (no cash, but a fancy scarf). Most memorable from my youth were AC/DC, Todd Rundgren, and Rossington Collins (Lynyrd Skynyrd survivors). Recent concerts through volunteering? Foreigner unplugged, Chris Botti, Arlo Guthrie, and a Led Zeppelin cover album band. I also attend concerts, but the volunteer ones are fun as I never know the location of my seat (or ledge).

So far I have tickets for this spring/summer: Trey Anastasio Band, Twiddle, Paul Simon, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Chicago & Doobie Brothers, GooGoo Dolls, and Phish. Still waiting for Counting Crows to announce concert dates.

Unfortunately, the Doobie Brothers line-up is without Michael McDonald these days, but I'm sure it will still be a fun show.
