Hello Sisters-

This weekend I (along with 300 fellow Long Islanders) will be walking 35 miles to raise money for breast cancer research and to help with patient expenses. Please pray for nice weather, a safe, injury free walk, and that someday soon we will find a cure to this disease which affects so many women.

For those of you who remember back in September I had surgery on my ovary. After surgery they told me it was not cancerous or endometrosis. Anyways fast forward to present, I am in the process of switching drs and had my records sent over to the new one. Went to see this guy for a get to know you visit and he tells me my records say I do have endo..which obviously was quite a shock to me. I called up the surgeon and spoke to the nurse who in turn talked to the surgeon. I pretty much got oh yeah no you have it so whoops. I was ready to throw punches and break my monitor at work. I dont understand how something like that could be overlooked and for them not to tell me! I seriously thought I was going nuts until I came back and reread my post op message on this thread...I dont use words like hemmoraged cyst so I'm not going crazy, someone had to have told me that at some point! I scheduled an appt to see the surgeon in July when I'm in Boston one last time but I just dont know what to think...

I can't believe your dummy head doctors!!!

What if you were trying to get pregnant? Endo would make it quite difficult to conceive. Plus, can't it hurt your chances of conceiving later on? This is a HUGE thing for them to "miss". Dude, let's go kick their butts!!! ;)

God bless Christian, and heal his little body!!

As for endometriosis, I had it for years, as has EVERY woman in my family. We've all been able to conceive; I'm just the only one who hasn't been able to carry to term. :( If you were still around here, I'd recommend my doctor, as she's literally the best!! At least, every doctor I know thinks so! The last few years, I've been symptom free.

The secret is to keep track of your cycle to the minute - when you hurt & where, when you spot, etc. You're young enough that it shouldn't cause a major problem - it can be "vacuumed" out of your abdominal cavity with laser surgery through the naval - I don't even have any scars. Just be aggressive about it, and have it taken care of BEFORE it becomes a problem!!

ForeverDiamond I'll keep Christian and his family in my thoughts and prayers! My middle sister had surgery a few days after being born and I know its not easy on the parents.

Honey thanks for the note, I'm getting a second opinion when I go back to Boston at the end of the month. Can you PM me your dr's name? Perhaps I can give her office a call to ask for a referall for someone out here since I will be in the process of changing insurances and drs.

Dear Lord, Be with all of my sisters, their families, and their loved ones. You know each intimate detail of their lives, problems, situations, and circumstances. I pray that you give strength, wisdom, peace, encouragement, and healing. IN JESUS' NAME-AMEN!

My husband's youngest sister (41) is an active drug addict. (that alone is worthy of a prayer request, but there's more - buckle up!) About a month ago on a Sat. afternoon, our phone rang - his sister was calling to ask us to bail her out of the local cop-shop before they shipped her off to County lockup until arraignment on Monday. She had been arrested under warrants from 3 different courts - but the cops were called to her 'residence' for domestic violence complaints. Hubby got off the phone and we talked - we agreed to let her go to County, maybe hit her bottom and SEEK RECOVERY. He called back and the nice officer told him that that County doesn't have great pre-natal care - oh and did he know she was about 6 months preggo? (she went to county and stayed maybe a week, 'worked off' her fines - and stayed off the drugs for a week) (oh, and she was more like 8 months along)

Last Friday, she gave birth to a 4-lb baby girl, who is addicted also. DYFS (Div of Youth & Family Services) was called by the hospital (we called but they cannot take action until the baby is born - and has drugs in its system - or unless the mother-to-be is willing to go into treatment) and is going to court for custody of the infant.

Here's the good news - DH & I have decided to adopt the baby!! We will have to go thru some PITA steps to get her from DYFS, but we made the call to get the ball rolling!

(((((((((((((((((First & Finest))))))))))))))

Dear Precious Lord, please pour your healing and wisdom over this crisis-turned-opportunity. Let our sister & her husband be awarded custody of this precious baby, and let that baby be so completely healed that she suffers NONE of the consequences of her birth mother's actions. Please let the DYFS see that our sister & her husband have the baby's best interests at heart, and teach them how to deal with an addicted infant. They need YOU in this situation, both now and throughout their lives, please show them how to best care for their family, especially at it grows. We stand in the gap for them and ask for the anointing power of Jesus Christ to cover this whole situation. In the holy name of Jesus we submit this to You.

BBelleADPi 06-08-2005 02:47 PM

Amen, Amen. And may the child grow in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Please keep up abreast of the news. Do you have any children?

WLFEO 06-08-2005 03:14 PM

I have tears running down my face and chills! I do pray this will work out for you & for the baby! I am so thrilled to hear the baby will have loving parents!!!!!!! Let us know if there's anything else we can do (besides pray- we're doing that now!)

I have a couple:

1) My grandmother (father's side) has been put in the hospital for a bunch of tests. She has severe arthritis on her right side, which causes her difficulty in walking, etc. She had a spill in the middle of the night last week, bad enough to warrant a trip to the hospital then and an MRI. She was admitted on Monday for more tests, and found that her dymentsia (sp?) is getting worse, very quickly. I'm not sure what's going to happen in this situation. It's hitting pretty hard, because she was always a backbone in the family. It's hard to see her frail and weakened.

2) My cousin who has had about 5 knee surgeries in the last several years is having problems again. Both of her knees have been operated on, one worse than the other. Her "bad" knee has swollen up quite a lot, and she is in a great deal of pain. She went in for an MRI---still waiting for results--- but the doctors won't give her any pain medication or anti-inflammatory medicine.

Please keep them both in your prayers....

FirstAndFinest 06-08-2005 11:34 PM

Thank you all for your prayers and your lovely words. I've really gotta say that I see my Natalie's eye getting better and I really believe the prayer here has a big part in that!! help for one another truly in action!!

Just gotta wait for the process to get going. Gotta prove paternity & awaiting results - that's all we know. The hearing this AM was closed and the birthmother is not talking. Fortunately, DH and I are going to FL in the morning for long weekend w/some of my family. I haven no children of my own. DH has one daughter, 11, from his first marriage. We were married Valentine's Day.
Gotta finish packing. I've been going since 5AM today and the heat is killing me. I'll check back in here next week.

Tomorrow, the DYFS case worker is coming to our home to interview us and to inspect our home. I'm sure these people go to the WORST places on earth (ok, the worst places in my county) and yet I'm worried that they will find my house unsuitable!

God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done. God's will be done.

I'm so nervous!! :p

WLFEO 06-13-2005 04:27 PM

Let us know how it goes! We'll be praying!
