Yeah.. OK... lol!

Wow...I'm gone for a weekend, and my thread turns into a sock discussion. How funny:D For a second I actually thought I was on the "twentysomething" thread from Chit Chat.

Thanks, everybody, for your input, and especially "thank you" to my future ASA sisters for your tips. I didn't know that opened toed shoes were out, but the panty hoes/opened-toed issue makes that obvious! I hate seeing women showing off that "lovely" seam. It's especially "attractive" with old toe nail polish (which I will not have at ritual).

My sponsor has informed me about proper dress, but we didn't get specific about shoes. Only that they must be white.

I'll let you know what I find, and since I do have a little while yet, I might try buying online as long as they have a good return policy.

Thanks again!

You can ask your sponsor too. While I clearly don't know how much is required universally at ASA and what is local tradition, your sponsor can let you know what's acceptable at the chapter you're attending.

Have SOOOOO much fun!

LouisaMay, I don't know how much you'd like to spend on shoes, but these are $70 at Steve Madden.

I like the top ones (not a big fan of pointy shoes, my feet aren't shaped right for them), but either pair are nice, and would be comfortable the whole night. I give my ASA approval.

ETA: KLPDaisy's ETA $30 ones are nice too.

CHEAP. ONE TIME.

I am of the thought that white feet are for babies, brides and bunnies (and ritual). No use for white shoes.

No prob. Anytime. If you ever need to find any kind of footwear for any occassion, I'm your girl.

Let's keep things on topic, shall we? I think the sock/shoes horse has been adequately beaten. ;)
