I had to explain, Ole Miss Football starts August and (hopefully) runs through January, NFL starts September and runs through Feb. Its too damn hot to get married down south in July and I can't get a dress by May... so if I want to get married within the next two years it HAS TO BE JUNE!

I was a July bride, because that's when our Church was available outside of football season.

This list consists of grade and QR cuts and was practiced 30 years ago (my day) and currently (active daughter). My chapter isn't allowed to take grade risks anymore even if they are wonderful girls. :( Beyond that, houses would be crazy to release girls before they had a chance to meet them.

I'm sure your active daughter's chapter sisters and your chapter's collegiate members will be really happy that you are spreading their business all over the internet. Seriously, STFU.

2013 Schedule

Thanks for all the tremendous advice and things to consider. Does anyone have a rough idea what hours each day rush is? Like what time Philanthropy and Skit parties begin each day? Or what it has been in the past? Thanks!

Well when you're not busy then we can probably head over to City Grocery Bar or the one at Bouré. Their Bloody Marys are divine.

Can you spring me to watch the game somewhere?????

Sure! I bet the Blind Pig Pub or Proud Larry's would have it. If not there then Buffalo Wild Wings.

It will usually start in the 4:30 to 5:30 PM time range. To get an idea of how long each party lasts, go to this link for ->What To Wear

33, that's pretty well known around the south because of the big numbers we've had to deal with. It's okay. Nobody thinks that sororities with massive recruitment can start discussing PNMs the first day and if they have to cut ahead of time due to grades, so be it.

Titchou 08-17-2013 06:47 PM

I'm with you, Carnation. You have to already determine that first release list with 2100 PNMs. You just can't function if you don't already have some names in one column or the other.

Rush times

Thanks, Mary Poppins for the time estimate - we were just wondering start times due to class schedules. It will be fine, I know. Y'all try Oxford Grillhouse on the Square if you have time - and, their cheesesticks (I know, I know, that sounds like a Chilis appetizer) are amazing.

If you aren't sitting in the room you don't know what is going on. Period. And she didn't say it was just grades, she also said "QR cuts." Grades may be black and white, reputation not so much if you've never met the person. I stand by my statement that she needs to STFU.

She's fine. It's a big school thing.

Actually, 33girl, I have sat in the room - many times. I've been a membership adviser (our name for recruitment adviser), the UAB PH Adviser, a chapter PH adviser, an Advisory Board Chairman (main chapter adviser), a Collegiate Recruitment Consultant, a Regional Recruitment consultant, etc, etc, etc. If you don't already have that list going, you are doing yourself and the chapter a disservice.

I don't mean you, I mean the poster I responded to. She gave no indication that she is a volunteer of any sort, it sounded more like rumor and innuendo.

Not only that, I've never heard you say you know what is going on in your daughter's sorority (of which you are not a member).

Sorry if I seem like a dog with a bone on this one, I just think that this is one more thing to make PNMs nervous and upset.

I feel no obligation to give you my recruitment involvement resume, but rest assured I have been in the room recently. My daughter and I are fortunate enough to be members of the same GLO and chapter.

I believe knowledge is power, and PNM's come here for advice and knowledge. If we don't give them honest, accurate information, they will be ill-prepared, which could lead to a bad impression of the Greek community in general.
