Saw Nicki last year with Wayne & Travis Barker. It was awesome. Can agree that Nicki puts on a great live show.
I just realized how I NEVER updated this when I went to Home & Home with Jay-Z/Eminem at Comerica Park (yes, THAT show that was the last time Em toured and only one of like 4 dates.) That is probably my biggest concert WIN of recent years. Like, the concert was so rare that the shirt I bought is now being sold on eBay as a collectors item for $300 (there are no more.) Coming up this year: Justin Timberlake on 12/12. Miguel/Future/2Chanz/Drake also coming in August. Oh lawd Jesus it's a fahr. |
Concerts I've been to:
Kelly Clarkson American Idol season with Chris Daughtry Nickelback Carrie Underwood No Doubt with Paramore opening Maroon 5 with Sarah Bareilles and Counting Crows opening Christina Aguleira Trans-Siberian Orchestra x2 Justin Timberlake with Good Charlotte opening Bon Jovi with Kid Rock opening Straight No Chaser x2 Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias The Package Tour-Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees and New Kids on the Block Bruno Mars My mom liked taking me to concerts as a kid so she wouldn't look like "a creepy mom there all by herself"...I was totally okay with this! The last two were this summer. |
Hmmm, let's see:
I'll get the big stinker out of the way first: Milli Vanilli. Someone? Owes me $23. Others, in no particular order: *Dave Matthews Band (4 times. Macy Gray was the opener once) *Aretha Franklin *Rihanna (free tickets a couple of months ago) *Better than Ezra *Wale (at Georgetown's Midnight Madness a couple of years ago) *Erykah Badu (was the entertainment at a fancy party) *Frankie Beverly and Maze (Howard Hewett was the opener. This was one of the best shows I've ever seen.) *Maroon 5 (twice) *Rob Thomas (Beth Hart was the opener) *Pointer Sisters (4 times. Once at a July 4th concert, and 3x because a cousin knows them) *Stevie Wonder (was so awesome!!!) *Jason Mraz *Lilith Fair 199...7?: Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Liz Phair, Indigo Girls *New Edition, Bobby Brown (oh, middle school.) *Ready for the World and Club Nouveau (oh, elementary school.) *Wyclef Jean (was the entertainment at an inaugural ball) *Bill Clinton's 1992 inaugural concert; I only remember LL Cool J and David Sanborn *The first American Idol concert (Kelly Clarkson) I'm sure there are others, but that's what comes to mind. |
Most recently Sinbad. Funny dude!

Where were you seated? We were in the wristbanded "mosh pit" area where we almost lost our lives.

Bumping because reading threads like this is more fun than seeing an endless array of mindless spam...and because I saw Tesla, Styx, and Def Leppard in concert last night (Awesome!) and am excited about seeing Motley Crue & Alice Cooper next month!

Let's go WAY BACK
My first concert ever, as a kid, was Randy Travis/Alan Jackson when Alan was brand new on the scene. Brooks and Dunn Toby Keith Big and Rich Gretchen Wilson Dierks Bentley Marty Stewart Motley Crue 3 Doors Down Tom Petty Audioslave Cowboy Mouth Straight No Chaser DC Talk Audio Adrenaline Newsboys Third Day Skillet Building 429 Tenth Ave North Jars of Clay Drew Holcomb Lots others during music festivals, but these are the big names. Third Day, Newsboys and Skillet are by far my favorites. I volunteer with merchandise booths frequently for Third Day and Newsboys and will be doing my first volunteer concert for TobyMac in November. (http://www.loopevents.org/) for those of you into christian music and want to see a show for "free" by volunteering. |

Blue Oyster Cult I do regret not going to Elvis Presley (I was too cool) and Stevie Wonder with the Rolling Stones (just could not afford the $5 ticket, I had no money). |
