Wow I'm so jealous considering the fact that I have attempted to lose weight several times and fallen back to old ways...Its really depressing being overweight my height and age....26, 5'1, and weigh 190...a healthy weight for me and my height is 98 - 115...I was 120 graduating high school and healthy looking...I want to be in a 6 again - that is my ultimate goal...

Has anyone joined TOPS?

I read about it on the HC topic, but I didn't know if anyone had gone as far as enrolling into the program.

I'd like to lose 10-15 vanity pounds....trying to get back to being in the 120's like I was back in school.

My days are now spent sitting at a computer for 8 hrs instead of walking all across campus, and my weight has been affected by it.

I went shopping this weekend ... I bought 18s and 20s for the first time in about 15 years! I even bought some things from Old Navy! Wow!

I will be creating a web site very soon. Will keep everyone posted.

Congratulations!!!!! :D You and KimL are my inspirations for this week! :)

PV06 - I'm going to a TOPS meeting tonight to see how I like it. As much as I wanna save money, I actually LIKE WW and I can't see leaving. Especially since I want to be a receptionist one day. I dunno. I realized yesterday that even if I start going to TOPS, I can't leave WW until I at least hit my 10% goal (only 10lbs away). I have a feeling I'm always gonna come up with reasons not to leave WW. I feel some sort of loyalty to them or something.

I had a good weekend. I got compliments on my weight loss. I realized that I'M the only one harping on gaining these 6lbs back. I measured my waist this morning and it looks like I also gained an inch. But we'll see next week. It might just be water. I wasn't supposed to measure until this weekend, but I couldn't wait. But I was actin' like gaining those 6lbs back was the end of the world, when all others see is that I'm STILL 40lbs lighter than before. Quietly, I'm tryna be like BabyBlue91!!! I can't wait until I can say I'm 75lbs down (cuz we know next week that's where she'll be;)).

Let's have a good week, y'all! :)

I've been plugging along for two years now ... I think I would settle around the 150 mark. Sadly, I reached this number when I was 10 years old (over 20 years ago) and have not been close to it since.

Well, girl, we're trying for the same thing! My goal is 155. Well, that's my WW goal so I can stop paying. My boss is my height and she weighs 150 and I like how she looks (she not skinny) so I figure 150-155 should be cool. At least you know when you were that weight. I have no recollection of 150. I went from a size 5/6 (135lbs or so) to a size 16 (well over 200lbs) and I have no idea what I wore in between cuz I never owned any other sizes. Then it was an 18, then 20, then 22. It was like one day I just woke up obese. :( And that's funny cuz when you are losing weight, you have ALL the sizes in your closet, lol. But not on the way up. At least I didn't.

Can I just say that I'm glad the WWW exists? I only have these type of conversations with my bestfriend and my cybertwin. I used to be SUPER ashamed of my lack of control when it came to food. Only since I started my Fantastic Voyage did I talk about my bingeing (sp?). Not even in my WW meetings do I talk about this... and speaking of, lemme go blog about that. Anyway, thank y'all for giving me an opportunity to vent about this.

Keep it Up!

Ladies keep it up, you are doing a great job and I know you look fab. I think when we focus on how we feel and not on what they scale says then your focusing on what matters.

I have been stuck on a certain number for about 3 weeks but I have been weight lifiting with my husband and he got me in a size 7/8 (Closer to an 8) for my wedding. I am confidently putting back on all my 10's, except these darn size 10 jean capris. I am 5' 8" so that helps alot plus I have an athletic build, so I am grateful. I think we should post some progress pics!! :p

That is true. I need to quit slacking off and get back on the WW bandwagon, it did work when I was dedicated to the plan.

Let us know how things go with TOPS.

Good job, ladies. Get it right, Get it tight!!!!

I am thinking of starting a picture journal for my weight loss similar to my hair journal for my naps. In the meantime, I need to find a pic of the newest me. Soror, you can send me a pic privately if you want. I'm 5'8", too and I want to know what a 10 looks like. I think that's my goal. It was a 12, but now that I'm in a 14, I know a 12 just won't do. But I do NOT have an atheletic build, lol. LOL @ the thought. Maybe one day . . .

PV06 - I'll let y'all know how it goes!

Ideal and BabyBlue91 keep doing your thing.:)
Babyblue that is excellent news about your 74 pound weight loss, and Ideal make sure you post on your blog about how TOPS went for sure. nDefinigtely stop tripping off that 6 lbs and look at the larger picture like you said...you ae down 40 pounds, that is fantastic news. Keep doing what you know you should be doing and when you hit a bump in gthe road, look at it just that....a small little bump in the road....and little bumps are so EASY to get over that it's not funny.

Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS)

I went last night and I've blogged about it. Y'all, I know I said I wouldn't leave WW, but I'm out. I LOVED the TOPS meeting. LOVED it! About 25 or so people in the chapter, very laid back, very supportive. Most of the women were old (like grandma old to a 32 y/o) and they were all white. But they were as nice and as sweet as could be (I'm always weary of white folk in Cinci, this is just a different place). And even pointed out to me that there were other AA girls too, they just didn't come often. I laughed to myself, but I knew she was being welcoming and wanting me to be comfortable, and I appreciated that. Y'all, they had SNACKS!!! All low-fat. Snyders makes these new pumpernickel & onion flavored pretzel sticks...SO GOOD!!! Pretzels are my favorite snack, but anyway. They had fruit and all kinds of stuff. I weighed in (not in my normal WI gear, but oh well) and I lost a little bit just since Thursday.

It's only $24 a year and then each chapter has dues. Mine will be $2 a month. Not bad! And they give away prizes and stuff... it's really cool. I'm joining on Monday!! :) For now, I'm still going to use WW points system so that I can keep controlling my portions. I hope to one day be able to switch to Core so I can eat healthier, but I'm not ready for that just yet.

I think that the women in TOPS are more "real." They talk about the ups and downs of weight-loss, the yo-yo dieting, emotional eating, all types of stuff. They know each other's birthdays and stuff. It's like a little family and I liked it a lot. They even have a pledge, charm bracelets to track weight loss, conventions... it's just cool.

There is a chapter here in Richmond and you've inspired me to check it out...the next meeting is on Monday...so I'll be going next week.

Wow!

This is definitely good news for my waistline and my pockets!

I wonder if the chapter in my area is just as big?

I'll be checking out the next meeting for sure.

Thanks for letting us know how it went, Ideal!

With you doing both WW and TOPS, the weight should be practically melting away.

:)

Acting "Stouchy"

My husband (he's Jamaican) threw this new term at me yesterday (it's pronounced "STEW-she"). It seems like a synonym for "conceited," which I am working hard not to be. (I don't even know how to spell it!) Can anyone help me out?

His explanation is that I walk differently, look at myself in the mirror, etc.

Well dang, that sounds like a good deal but alas there are no TOPS chapters in Northern NJ or NYC :(
