Go back to page 20 in this thread and look towards the bottom of the page. Read the second to last post and through the next several pages. That'll bring you back up to speed.

It's rumor. Bid lists are part of member selection and therefore secret so any information you've heard is therefore rumor and not fact. They may have an idea of a group of girls who they think would be a good fit after lots of preliminary background checking, but I have trouble believing any group would literally have their list finalized in advance. And if there was no need to hold rush, they wouldn't. It's expensive and time consuming and stressful.

Exactly. DubaiSis, I'm so glad you were able to answer that. My energy is gone today.

PLEASE PLEASE quit reading that site. It is nothing but ugly rumor, mean spirited jabs and BS masquerading as fact. Do you think sororities would actually go to the (think 5 figure) expense and exhausting work to run recruitment if they already had their bid lists done? Get yourself as prepared as possible, get your recs in place, go in with an open mind & a smile and be ready to give every group a look :)

Ok thanks... Just mom jitters... There's wine for that! I'll be calm and let the process take its course. Whew!

Yes, the ice water teas ARE part of formal recruitment. Check the very first post of this thread for incredibly complete information on recruitment at Ole Miss and good luck!

Any GreekChat Members going to be in town for Fall Formal Recruitment? Let's have Cocktail Hour somewhere.

Sorry. But I will be there on the 14th for Eleanor Slaughter's Fraternity Memorial Service. It's on campus - forget the name of the building. Then a reception at the DG house afterwards. Unfortunately, they scheduled it at 2 PM and the kickoff for the Alabama- Texas A & M game is at 2:30! How dare they not take into consideration? They've promised to set me up in the HD's suite to watch the game during the reception!

I have known people to set up big screen televisions at wedding receptions when the couple were inconsiderate enough to schedule their wedding during college football season.

True! But I don't think the folks in MS are too concerned about Alabama's football schedule - though I can't understand why they aren't! ;)

Well when you're not busy then we can probably head over to City Grocery Bar or the one at Bouré. Their Bloody Marys are divine.

Our Zeta daughter's wedding was in late September in Birmingham. You can bet there were a lot of antsy men! Well, ours was in early December but some big game (Florida-Florida State?) was played that day (who would have thought?) and several guys kept sneaking out listen to their car radios.

LOL- LOVE IT! My husband (an avid NFL fan) proposed in December- we got married the following June. My mother (thinking I might be "in trouble") wanted to know why so fast... I had to explain, Ole Miss Football starts August and (hopefully) runs through January, NFL starts September and runs through Feb. Its too damn hot to get married down south in July and I can't get a dress by May... so if I want to get married within the next two years it HAS TO BE JUNE!
