Back here again...my fiancé could really use some prayers/kind thoughts. Without getting too into it, things are just gong terrible for him. He just can't catch a break and I think he's close to his breaking point. It hurts so much to see the person you love get kicked over and over again and know you can't be there to support them or do anything to make it better.

Please, please...any prayers and kind thoughts would be appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

My pledge sister Kathy is undergoing chemo. She had to fight for custody of her son, moved home to Texas from Buffalo, NY, lost her job, and now this. Prayers appreciated.

My mom is having part of her colon removed today...the part that has the cancer in it. We'll be leaving for the hospital in a few minutes. I know she will be fine, but we can always use thoughts and prayers no matter what!

DS: I had a pretty large portion of my colon (and several feet of small intestine too) removed in 2003 and am doing pretty darn good.

My husband and sons were in a car accident. My husband was trapped - side air bag went off, thank God. Boys were hysterical, but seem to be okay. And I know that's what is important . . . but his car is totaled. His 9 year old, high mileage car with the $1,000 deductible, so we'll get nothing for it. I am praying mightily for transportation for him before the new semester starts. He has some adjunct classes - good news after his job loss - but has to be able to get to the college.

My school and I need lots of prayers. A friend of mine, who was a member of my school's chapter of Phi Mu Alpha was killed in action in Afghanistan recently. Please keep his family, his brothers, and his friends in your prayers.

Posting an update on my mom. Her surgery was a week ago, and it went well! They ended up having to take out more of her colon than expected because of the area the cancer was in. She's been home all of this week recovering, but is still sore.

During the surgery they removed 17 lymph nodes, and they found cancer in 1 of them. My mom has been classified as stage 3 and will more than likely be doing chemo for 6 months and lose her hair. However, the oncologist said this morning that since she just had her surgery, they may have to wait a month or two to start the chemo.

I'm still very confident that she will become a survivor through all of this. I work for a very big, national non-profit speciailzing in research of cancer and services/resources for cancer patients. I started working for them in March of last year, and I truly know why I was meant to work here. I have learned so much that I can now use to help my mom.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and hope they continue through this process. :)
