I thought Nathan saw Peter when he looked in the mirror. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I thought (until now) that he saw Peter's face looking back at him. Maybe it was to tell Nathan (and us) that Peter is still alive?

Now, about Nathan absorbing some of Peter's power. I'm not sure that's what happened. I imagined that either (1) at some point in the sky, when Peter was far enough from Earth, Nathan let go... and flew far enough away from Peter to survive; OR (2) Nathan flew with Peter long enough for Peter to absorb his ability to fly, at which point, Nathan returned to Earth, and Peter flew until he exploded.

Peter could already fly, however the creators of the show said he that because he was losing control of the explosion he was unable to "do" anything else.

I thought he saw Peter as well. I think he's 50% sure Peter's never coming back and 50% unable to let go just in case.

I didn't realize the creators had said this. I guess the first option (from my earlier post) would still explain how Nathan didn't die. I guess I just don't want to believe that Nathan now has Peter's same abilities.

There's no reason he should. He's not an "empath" If he was healed, it was by someone with healing abilities, not himself. But I don't think that's the issue.

I didn't think Nathan saw Peter in the mirror; I thought he saw himself and that's why he has the beard (to cover up scar tissue).

About Peter

I was talking to a co-worker about show and she thought I had missed a major plot point: Peter was in the shipping container.

SoCalGirl 09-26-2007 09:58 PM

^Did you quit watching before the show was over? That was a pretty major thing to miss.

One that it seems others missed as well.
And, for me at least, it just did not click until my conversation.

And if not than, I am sure it would have next week.
At whcih point I would say "Duh" or something close to that.

that actually makers sense considering he was in a bar getting drunk....

This may confuse and clarify things....

Is it the past? Is it imagination?

BabyPiNK_FL 09-27-2007 12:31 AM

That looks (at least to me) more like Peter than Nathan...but at first I thought it was Nathan and that is was symbolic for his internal heartbreak/scarring. I really didn't know what to make of that or what to think about the fact that he actually is still alive (I mean he basically promised to stick with Peter until the end so I originally assumed he died too until his ass showed up in episode 1 season 2!) So now I'm just really confused...

And I also agree the whole Hiro in ancient Japan with whiteguywhoissupposedtobeasiandude is kinda boring, strange, don't know where they are going with this, etc...I wish they focused more on the person that can see Molly back. WHO IS THIS? WHERE IS SYLAR? WHAT IS GOING ON!!!! AHHH! (so confused. but still getting it... but TOTALLY glad to have fine-ass Peter back on screen!) :D

Drolefille 09-27-2007 12:42 AM

Ignoring the hair in front of the face, which is soooo peter, it's Nathan's jaw and brow.

That said they look a LOT a like. I do know it isn't Sylar who's in Molly's dreams. It's the villain of season 2...

I just want to point out that Time Travel has been an integral part of Hiro's story from the beginning....

When he came to NYC...it was either 3 or 6 months...Future Hiro going back in time to talk to Peter...."Save the Cheerleader, Save the World"....many instance in the future. Not to mention that one eppy what 5 years in the future with Sylar posing as Nathan.

We know that Hiro has trouble controlling his ability...that waitress in TX and the loss of his power (again control)...I might think going back to 1671 (not sure of correct year) is a bit much, but perhaps not....beginning of the company with the symbol.

But to say that this eppy/beginning of this season introduced time travel is incorrect.

Do you think Hiro becomes Kensai Takado, and that's how he ends up with the sword? I really like Hiro, but I honestly hate the fact that they brought time travel into the whole show. That just messes up everything - he could easily just go back in time and "fix" things.

SoCalGirl 09-27-2007 02:32 AM

I don't think she was trying to say time travel was new. Just that she preferred that they had never gone there.

Bingo. I know time travel has always been part of the show - I just don't like it.
