Will Rogers said of them: "When the Okies left Oklahoma and moved to California, they raised the average intelligence levels in both states." |

Went out to dinner with my friends and headed to someone's house afterwards. Checked the score on my blackberry and saw that it was 7-3 WVU at the half. Was super excited at holding WVU to 7 in the entire first half. We watched the second half. What a game. Kicking myself for not going now, of course. HAIL TO PITT!!! |
I'm hoping all the upsets mean that I may actually get to "smell the ROSES!!!"

I always thought the Rose Bowl was automatically Pac 10 vs. Big 10. I'll need to re-read the rules again. That probably changed when the whole BCS thing came about. Anyways, it will be interesting tonight when they announce the pairings. Go Bucks! |

A. A team in the NCG; B. The host team for another BCS Bowl; C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents. My thinking is: obviously, they can't pick tOSU, since they fit A. B: Illinois is not a host for another BCS since we weren't "in" yet. C: Now, since the Rose Bowl lost (or will lose shortly) tOSU, they cannot replace them with a team from the same conference as the conference as the team ranked number two unless that other bowl says it's okay. So, let's just say Georgia is the number 2 team; the Rose Bowl can't pick someone from the SEC to replace Ohio, unless the bowl that had Georgia says it's okay since they had the right to the next highest ranked team from the SEC. Anyone else, did I say that correctly??...or am I misinterpreting it? |
In 2001, Ohio State, the Big 10 got into the NC game. At that time, instead of taking the Big 10 #2, the Rose Bowl instead selected Oklahoma as an at-large. Oklahoma then throttled the Pac-10 champ Washington State.
I'm not saying Oklahoma, the Big 12 champ is going to the Rose Bowl, but I think the Rose takes an at-large over Illinois. Missouri, Kansas or Hawaii maybe. |

I hear that the Orange Bowl is trying to get Oklahoma because they don't want to see an Oklahoma v. Kansas game (ratings). We'll know in a few minutes. |
