Like many others have said I am new to the site and I would like to finally stop by and say hello to all the participants of this forum. It's some what funny how everyone says that they've been lurking and reading because I have done the same. But anywho, I am versatilemc and I am saying HELLO!!!! I look forward to taking part in some of the discussions. Have a good night and good morning to some. LOL

Allow me to reintroduce myself...

Greetings All! I'm long time sisterfriend (going on 13 years...whew! lol) and have been a visitor for quite sometime, but life's circumstances switched up a bit and I haven't posted in quite a while, so I just wanted to peek my head back in to say hello. I look forward to continued dialogue with all of you!:)

Hey! Fellow sisterfriend here. I've been on the board for quite some time, and even though I read it daily, I don't post very often. Just like offline. I'll chill out and listen a lot more than I talk. I hope to get more involved in the discussions around here though.

I'm a bit late on finding this thread...about a year lol

Hello to all, I'm just reading, absorbing, learning, admiring and aspiring ;)

New GC sisterfriend

Hi,
I was a silent lurker for awhile. I'm a sisterfriend. I just wanted to share I poem I wrote per AKA_Monet's request. Here it is:

When I was just a young girl,
I dreamed of wearing 20 Pearls
I envied the ladies of pink and green
Especially the ones who worked,
Not just so they could be seen
A young lady from St. Louis started it all
Yes, Ethel Hedgeman Lyle did in Miner Hall
Incorporated in 1913, these ladies blazed a trail
No one could foresee
From the founding of the Mississippi Health Project,
A partnership in math and science they would share,
As well as donate money to Africare
Because high scholastic achievement is a part of her formation,
This started the Educational Advancement Foundation
A sisterhood that never fails, to blaze new trails
From education, the black family, health, economics and the arts,
Women from all walks of life, work to do their part
To maintain high moral standards with
Girls and women who share sisterly relationships,
To achieve Ms. McKinzie's goals of
Economics, Sisterhood and Partnerships
So now it is the time, for these ladies to
Celebrate service to all mankind,
A lifetime of blood, sweat and tears
I wish Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc. the best,
as they celebrate 100 years.
