Fantasia, who you wit, girl!?!

Congrats, Fantasia,
Despite all the sanctiminous, bullisht hatoration, she persevered, brought superior "musical wood" every week and just did the thang. Everytime she sang she just commanded my attention; nobody else did that. Latoya, Diana, George were nice, but none was in this girl's musical class. Diana was classy last night and I think has a future in the biz. (George, who straight BLEW UP "Me and Mrs. Jones" should have been in the finals).

Last night was my first hearing of Kelly Clarkson. Her CD will be in my mix real soon. Reuben, if you gon be around....Jenny Craig, bro. (CT4, when dude came on stage your cake reference came to mind--you ain't right).

lastly...gotta give America props. Despite some of the stuff on other pages, the nation recognized talent and rewarded it. :D

...has anybody checked on Bruh RBL? does he need the paddles? :D

I saw you over there kickin it up :D

I'd urge all of us (I'm not talking about you FeeFee, your post was on-point) to not stoop to the level that was sometimes displayed over there. A hallmark of the D9 pages, IMO, is that whether we agree or not, we do it with CLASS.

and props to you laidbackfella. THAT post you put out was indeed visionary.

Phrat said something about going to G'boro Coliseum. I'm willing to bet that it took him about 2 hours getting out of there.

Wish I coulda been there. . .:(

Although I was rooting for LaToya, I'm glad Fantasia won! I was really moved by her singing Tuesday night. Does anyone know what label she got her record deal through? Because I think Clive maybe looking for someone to take Whitless/Whitney's place.

I heard also on one of those shows like ET that Clive is planning for a WHITNEY "comeback". :o

As I said before, I became a jazz fan when I was 32 and have remained mainly a jazz listener, but for some reason I'd like to see a cleaned-up Whitless, if that's possible, back with Clive Davis.

yeah, that was messed up. They could have at least passed the baby.

abaici 05-27-2004 12:43 PM

This was about the 2nd time I was able to watch an entire episode. I wasn't really feeling Fantasia's voice, but that girl is a performer!!

After she won, she was in tears. I made a smart-a$$ comment about the female idols not being able to finish their final songs because of the crying. WHY DID FANTASIA SWITCH IT ON ME?!? I'm thinking, dang!!! You go, girl!

no, they couldn't let em up on stage. If you remember, Fantasia still had to sing that last song "I Believe."

imagine if she woulda dropped the baby what all these folk would be sayin'

Yeah, that would be just more ammunition for them to use.
