From what I understand, this issue is pretty much over and done with. For those who posted in June and are interested, if you read the threads related to this, the idea kinda got complicated to say the least, and I think in the end, we decided it would be best not to go with it.
However, if you are interested, I might suggest PMing those who were the "heads" of it and see if they are still involved.

grrreat idea :)

i think this is a great idea, i am just wondering how you all came up with the starfish for the mascot, i am all for this-it definately promotes unity. is there a secret handshake involved ;)

Before this thread goes any further...

This should be let to die again in my opinion.

Gamma Chi served in its short time to divide us more than bring anyone together. Most would agree that it didn't offer anything above and beyond what these message boards already provided.

The intent of this was good.. but the actual implementation and the results of it were not.

Yea, I thought it was weird for this strand that I've never seen to mysterious pop up out of nowhere 3 months after it's conception...

Sorry to hear the idea didn't work out. :(

But after all, isn't Greek Chat *originally* about the ideals set forth in Chi Gamma? Either way, Greek Chat is still here :)

Since someone resurrected the Gamma chi membership thread, I thought I would bring this one up for the history of it.

Enjoy newer GC people . . lol.

I'm in, if you'll have me?. I'm Corresponding Secretary/PR for my chair and Historian for my chapter, but I'm also a professional photographer...so I'm willing to help out anywheres I'm needed. Is there a "Gofur" Chair?

I believe this is what you're looking for:

Gamma Chi -- Yes or No?

IIRC, people who were opposed/didn't give a shit about Gamma Chi from the get go started a "PHI GAMMA CHI" campaign. The PHI GAMMA CHI "letters" were added to signatures to indicate that they were against Gamma Chi.

I still LOL at how fired up some people got. Some were very, very passionate about it.

I thought it had some potential too.

Aww, well this sounded like a wicked good idea!!!!! What happened to it?

cutie_cat_4ever 11-10-2006 10:30 PM

I'm also surprised how some people were really against it. IMO, if you don't agree with it, then leave it. Why even bother to shoot people's ideas down when it really didn't hurt any GLOs in general? Let them do it and if you don't like it then leave. Just as simple.

I think it's a great idea, but what they really need is a few core members to physically meet up, discuss the constitution and implent it. Gathering opinions on internet just make things complicated and that's what happened...

oh well :(

If I remember correctly, people who weren't even involved started dissing the idea, and some people got discouraged.
