It's not the concept that's the problem. The problem is that that is not normal, is immature, and is very troubling.

IT MAKES SENSE.

Maybe to you...

I assure you that that is not normal behavior.

It all depends on the person's will and the people you hang out with. Sometimes, a better social life=more distractions to school=worse grades.

Better grades are mainly a result of effort, not something that comes on a silver platter along with a better social life.

THAT COMBINED with the acne is.

honestly, my low gpa was due to my acne.
i isolated myself in my dorm room because my face was blown up with pimples everywhere and i was so scared of running into people.

this means id "study" in my confined little dorm with my distracting laptop, tv, food, and roommate. NOT efficient studying. really didnt get much done and was always distracted.

if i didnt have acne, i would go to the library all the time! its a great place to study and the times i did go on maybe a clearish day in the past i would get so much studying done and would be so productive!

my grades were lower that semester because i never went to the library because my acne was worse than ever. way too humiliating.

If you don't want to say what school or sorority, can you at least say what state? I feel like, if we are going to give you advice, we would need to know a little more about what organization you are looking at. In fact, you may get lucky and find that there is a member of that organization on here who could give you advice. You never know. That person may even go to your school.

I could give you advice about my school and organization, all day long but, if you don't go to either one of my schools or are looking at my GLO, I can't really give you that much advice. If you explain to us, what area (even state) you are talking, you may get more replies and people may not assume you are a troll.

yes, but when my overall life was horrible i had no motivation to put in effort. i was in a depression. when you are depressed, you dont feel like doing anything.

I had distractions in my dorm room and I never went to the library, except for finals time, when I sat at a table with my friends and socialized and did little work. Yet I still graduated with a damn good GPA.

If I would have had <blank>, my life would be like <blank> now. Wah. You need to get your head out of your ass and into a therapist's office.

Pennsylvania or New York? I no longer live in PA. If PA, I can give you more advice (just as others on here) about your options regarding various schools in PA. For some reason, I'm thinking you are at Bloomsburg University or another state school. I know you aren't at Penn State because we no longer have locals on that campus.

If you are at Bloom or another state school, there are many people on here who can give you advice.

blondebabe8 06-08-2011 03:20 PM

well studying in your dorm may have worked for you. but for some people, it just doesnt!
doesnt mean your smarter. you just did work. i didnt!

Lord, if I had a nickle for every time I've said that to a PNM, I'd be a rich woman today! It's the polite thing to say.

And check your spelling again.....

And it's NPC not PNC....

You don't get a free pass for being depressed. If you ever make it out of college and get a job, you won't be excused from work because you have a bad acne flair up or your friends aren't talking to you.

If you are depressed, truly (which does not mean avoiding class because you don't like the way you look), then you go to a doctor just like you would if you had diabetes, for instance. And if you don't help yourself you certainly have no right to expect sympathy or help from others.
