Agree completely. Madonna episode being #3. I like some story and character development with my singing, and I like it when they weave song into their daily lives and not just in Glee Club practice...but I like musicals, too. I've noticed that kids/teens seem to like the modern music/most of the action happens in the school/lots of Finn and Rachel episodes, whereas 30-somethings and up seem to like the deeper storylines and meaningful songs by multiple characters in different scenarios. I can't stand Finn's singing, and I wish they had LESS of him. And as much as I love Rachel's voice, her neurotic character is really grating on me.

I am more familiar with the version of A House Is Not A Home by Luther Vandross who probably has made it "the most popular" more recently.

Also while there are those that worship at the altar of KC, I found her version of "Home" to be... well...I had to turn of the TV. She just seemed to be hacking her way through it, but I'm sure she gave a brave effort. I normally can sit through her songs.
I always cry at the end of "The Wiz". Diana Ross. Done.

I do really like his version, but Dionne Warwick's is always the first that comes to mind for me. I guess I'm old enough (a child of the 60s and the early 70s) that I remember lots of versions of it. :o

Again :o -- I'm one of them who worships at that altar.

See, I hate, hate, hate with a red hot passion the movie of "The Wiz." I was so disappointed in that movie. And I couldn't stand Diana Ross in it at all -- way too old to be Dorothy.

"The Wiz" was the first show I ever saw on Broadway. Stephanie Mills gave me chills at the end when she sang "Home" -- still does when I listen to the CD. (And the arrangement that KC did on Glee is, except for the choral back-up, almost exactly the same arrangement as Stephanie Mills' from the show.) I thought the movie absolutely butchered the show. So I guess we've both got issues with butchering. :D

But it's all good. It'd be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

Diana Ross was a horrible Dorothy. Although, IMO, the only GOOD Diana Ross is the one in the Supremes.

They should have had Stephanie Mills in the movie

ETA: MysticCat I'm not from your generation but Dionne Warwick FTW.

LOL- I'm definitely not arguing w/ MysticCat. He's very nice. I certainly hope he didn't think I was. We're just sharing opinions.

Why do I somehow feel just a little older than I did before reading this? :p
