He could've definitely picked a less collegey leisure time and one without the publicity.
How old is he? I think most of the posts on FML are by him. |

True. Also, I *think* he's 31 or 32ish. |

I saw the pictures of him and the girls at the bar and I honestly don't see what the big deal is. He looked sloshed, but it wasn't as if he had his hands on their boobs. The women looked like they were fans taking a picture with a celebrity. If Jon Gosselin appeared wasted every week on tmz.com, I'd say he might have a problem. But he was on vacation visiting his mother. There are other kids out there whose parents commit atrocious behavior all the time. Worry about them instead. I think the Gosselin kids will be just fine. Oh, and it's not cool to call someone an alcoholic if they haven't admitted that to themselves first. :) |

I didn't - I said I was SURPRISED that, given he is married to Kate, he ISN'T. :) |

One still shouldn't assume that being married to someone like her would cause him to drink. |
From the outside looking in, Jon and Kate look very dry, monotone, and boring.
It looks like they love the kids but just tolerate each other (i.e. "we're in this together"). On today's rerun, Jon and Kate gave each other a cordial kiss on the cheek and half-assed hug. Jon said "we love each other." I mean, couples say "I love you." But to constantly say "we love each other" seems like they're trying to convince themselves, each other, and probably everyone else. |

I'm sorry you are having a bad day, OTW. :(

Wow. Maybe it's a midwestern thing but people of all ages play beer pong. There was a beer pong tournament at MGM Casino the other day.

I think the other issue is how does Jon think his actions won't be noted and publicized? If you are selling your reality show on the basis of its wholesome family values, you have to realize your actions in public are under scrutiny. Thus the Salon blog's emphasis on the fact that the children are not in a position to say yea or nay to having their lives documented, and it can (as we've seen with other child celebrities) have a negative impact on their later life. I've been uncomfortable with the show since the Aunt Jodie incident, and am also a little curious as to why the extended families are not in the picture - that's weird, imho. Who turns their back on family when they have a challenge (lots of children, illness, whatever)? Would both sets of grandparents (Yes, I know Jon's father is dead) really not be in the picture if something weren't . . . I don't know . . . not quite right? I'm not really watching the show anymore. Looking forward to checking out "Table for 12".

Since it is a show, maybe the show's contract does not cover the extended family. Maybe the producers feel people are more interested in seeing Kate play Superwoman and Jon play the more reluctant superhero. Other than that, maybe Kate doesn't want family to help at all because she likes being Superwoman and putting her all into her kids. Or maybe the family doesn't like them. It isn't that uncommon for family to eventually decide not to come around when coming around proves more trouble than it is worth. |
