About how long does a profile stay "new?"

My boyfriend finally signed up for myspace and I guess he has been featured on the Cool New People links. Well, his picture is of his MINI Cooper.

He's been getting up to 200 new adds a day. And then messages up the yin yang. I figure people are seeing him on the Cool New People link, dig the car and hit "Add." He denies them because they are totally random folks, but is there another place that people are finding his profile? Do other new people have this problem? Did you?

He's just wondering when the spam will stop. (And no, he doesn't want to change the picture.)

that happened to me too...i was getting about 100 a day for a few days when I changed my profile setting by requiring people to input my surname or email address.

have him do that...it's easier.

Within a couple hours of my creating a MySpace profile, I got a friends request from a former student I had taught 4 years ago. I had no problem with this- I even let his classmates add me.

I have had friends requests from random bands, random people around where I live, and even one guy trying too hard to find common ground with me. I did not friend any of those.

I even put a disclaimer saying that if you want to add me, you either have to know me, or have a major interest in common with me. Well that guy tried using the "no kids" card (even though we technically had put two different answers), the creativity and artistic card, the advanced degree card, you name it. Had he mentioned just one interest in common, I may have considered him- but he came across as too desperate. I do not know him. I am not in a position to grant him any favors. So why would he try so hard?

I can now say I have a myspace stalker. I had a friend request from a guy I used to know in high school. We weren't really friends actually more like acquaintances though we did sit next to each other at graduation. With our 10 year reunion coming up next year, I guess he started looking up all his old high school pals. I agreed to his request & since then, he leaves me comments & messages that are bizarre & downright creepy. Today was the last straw when he messaged me to tell me to look at his page. When I went to check it out, his entire page is plastered with my pics! Pictures of me from high school, from the yearbook, & the ones I have on my page. I am seriously creeped out. I have asked him to take down my pictures & am waiting to see if he does. Jeez. This is freaking crazy. It has pictures of me & some other girls that went to high school together along with a poll asking people to vote who's the sexiest? What a pathetic loser.

wtf. Tell him to delete that shit, or kill him. I don't know. That is crazy!

I've seen people create facebook pages for their stuffed animals.

BetteDavisEyes- that is very creepy and scary. It is one of my worst fears that the creep who stalked me in high school would find me online- whether through MySpace or another way- and that he would start harassing me again. Definitely block him.

I showed up to work today only to find out that they blocked myspace here at work!!

Then add them to your friends list. After that, go to edit your top 8, and look in the upper left hand corner. You can have up to a Top 24! And the good news is that you can edit it just like when you edit your top 8, instead of that stupid program where you have to put in URLs and codes and whatever.

Wow, that is sketchy. I thought it was bad getting unwanted friend requests.

I have since blocked him though I have at least 1 request from him a day that I keep ignoring. I also received a very nasty message from him calling me a bitch for blocking him & other nonsense. He then made a reference to seeing me at the reunion next year. Damn freak. I'll take my husband & make him wear his cop uniform to keep this creep away from me. He's pretty scary. I've talked to other girls he friended who all say he's very creepy & he myspace stalks them too.
