Gamma Phi took quota of 47 at SLU (St. Louis U)! I am so excited for the ladies, they did a fabulous job. Their skit was completely crazy and hilarious, unique from most of what I've read on GC over the years, They are a really high energy, fun bunch of women. It was an absolute blast to help them out this week. While I feel like I still need sleep, I can honestly say I cannot wait until next year!

Wisconsin Got Quota

Today was Bid Day at UW- Madison. The number of girls going through recruitment was down this year, but it was still a super rush. Gamma Phi had a great return rate for both 2nd Parties and Pref night. They reached quota with a total of 37 fantastic new pledges! And five of them are legacies.

kchaptergphib 09-08-2008 12:11 AM

That's awesome! Gamma always rocks.
It's a bummer that recruitment numbers were down in general, though. UW as a whole was doing so well! They were even considering expansion. Did you hear anything about that during rush this year?
Thanks for the update!
Bid day at Minnesota is tomorrow; I can't wait!!!!

beebadger 09-08-2008 10:28 AM

Good luck to Kappa Chapter today! I don't think the lower numbers are so much a reflection of how people feel about sororities. You're right -- they were on the rise even last year. Someone here said it seemed to be a result of the economy and people cutting back on expenses. Have any other chapter seen this happening?

But I don't think we're allowed to tell the exact return % rates (or, at least any of the women who voted in MS are not supposed to know- am I even allowed to say that? sorry, I don't know). But maybe there aren't many (active) Gamma chapter ladies on greekchat.

You are absolutely correct. Return rates and other MS information are need to know only (very few people NEED to know) and certainly not to be posted online.

beebadger 09-08-2008 02:17 PM

Thanks. Sorry, I didn't know.

SWTXBelle 09-08-2008 03:49 PM

Well, at least they were AWESOME return rates . . .

kchaptergphib 09-08-2008 11:39 PM

No worries, beebadger. I never knew that as a collegian, and didn't learn that until I helped in my 3rd recruitment as an alumna. But again, AWESOME returns, as usual;)

Minnesota - Twin Cities

So, I got the results for my initiating chapter just now. Today was bid day. Total at the U of M is 75, quota last year was 18

*

*

*

quota this year was 22 (and it's always nice to see an increase in quota- so yea!)

*

*

and Kappa chapter got 24 new members! YEA! QUOTA PLUS, BABY! And puts their chapter total at 77! And the MVP says they may have a sister affiliating this semester, too, so we'll see. Quota Plus and over Total. I'm so happy I could cry!

Zeta Delta at SEMO took 25 ladies, which was quota. They are also at campus total! So all three existing MO chapters took quota, and now we're just waiting for the Delta Nu recolonization later this month at Missouri State. :D

SWTXBelle 09-11-2008 07:23 PM

Keep those results coming in, ladies! Love to hear about our new members :)

GPhiB_007 09-12-2008 03:50 AM

UC Berkeley

Eta Chapter has around 50 new members and quota was about 41, but I will confirm those numbers later! =)

joliebelle 09-12-2008 08:38 AM

Our last group of parties is tonight and Pref day/ Bid day is tomorrow. We have no idea of what quota is going to be...over 80 women signed up for recruitment, but from what i've heard, only 50-60 of them have been regularly going to parties.

OK, so what's up with the Aggies being so silent? I can't find out anything!

(I'm sure there is an Aggie joke here somewhere, but I have a headache:p)

icelandelf 09-14-2008 03:58 PM

They are working on COB. I was wondering as well, and since I am volunteering at UTSA's recruitmnt this weekend, I asked about them.

UTSA today is Pref. Tomorrow is bid day. Cross your fingers--I've seen some wonderful girls this last weekend!
