who said I was screaming? and to answer your question no. I was a little ticked b/c AF had no knowledge of UNCC or the sororities. IMO if you don't know don't say anything. The original poster came to ask a question about the campus I rushed at. I know, therefore I told her my advice. That's all end of subject, but no, this has to be strung out just like the rest of the GC posts. Goodnight. |
I didn't realize that the Greek Village was finished, because it was still showing "Under Construction" when I was at a construction seminar there TWO WEEKS AGO. If they have moved in, it's been very recent, so you know what? Stop acting like you have no idea WTF I'm talking about. I've never gone to school in NC, but I do live in the Charlotte area (which means I know plenty of UNCC students and alum) and one of my very good friends is a staff member there. GET OVER YOURSELF. How's that for caps?
Oh, and as for soing my research - not interested.:p ETA: For the record, I was actually talking about the dorm at the very front of campus that they sororities were housed in no less than three years ago. I remember my first trip to the campus in 2004 noticing the dorm with all the sorority letters in the window. |

Ok if you say so. The Greek Village has been finished for at least a year. They are newer per say, but not brand new. I know a lot of people there as well and that's not the information I have. Personally I have been in the houses last summer, speaking from experience I know they are finished. |

I was not commenting on the housing situation at UN-whatever-branch-campus. I was commenting on your needlessly rude response to Alpha Frog who offered a very polite reply to the OP...also on your lack of reading comprehension. Both the OP's, AF's and your responses all took place here on GreekChat, not at UNCCCHNCST, so I guess I'm perfectly within my "comment" jurisdiction. |

Welcome back, Jess! |
DMBabyZTA---
You made a mistake. Stop. You are being rude to people for no GOOD reason. SCREAMING AT PEOPLE TENDS TO RUB THEM THE WRONG WAY. YOUR THOUGHTS AND YOUR INTENTS GET LOST IN THE PROCESS. I am sure your intention was not to be rude to people. But, that is how it is definitely coming off, especially in some of your comments. If you cannot refrain from insulting people, who happen to be my friends, perhaps you might consider limiting your posting to our thread... |

You are wanting something that you didn't get the chance to do way back when. That train has passed. Life isn't fair. I wanted to be a model, but God made me 5'4"... We all have things we regret not having the chance to do. BUT, I am telling you that raising your son should be more important than rush activities and Grab-a-dates. ESPECIALLY if you are, as you say, working full-time, as well. Flat out-- you will be cheating your son in order to be a kid again. |

I'm going to quietly add my .02 here.
To the OP: I get the feeling that all you are looking for is someone to validate what you are trying to do and completely disregarding those who are telling you there is a very real possibility that 18-22 single college kids may not think that a 35-yr old married mother would be a good fit with the chapter. I can assure you they are not posting that to put you down, or make you feel bad about yourself, or anything, they just want to prepare you for the reality that there is a VERY good chance you will not get a bid instead of telling you what you seem to want to hear and making you get your hopes up for something that may not happen. Hell, they even gave you some alternatives to consider (service GLOs, professional GLOs, or even groups like Beta Sigma Phi) that all offer sisterhood in addition to their service, etc. DMBabyZTA - you need to simmer down sweetie. And just a FYI, in teh interwebz, TEXT IN CAPS LOCK = YELLING. Please refer to "Common characteristics" here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette |

And, for clarification's sake, the reason why I said what I said about the population of UNCC is that every alum of UNCC I personally know went there as a non-Trad, and when I go to concerts there, 99.99999999% of the band/orchestra/choir's hometowns are listed as Charlotte, NC/Matthews, NC/Concord, NC/Lake Norman, NC. Plus, the dorms are disproportionate to the number of students at a typical State 4-year school. |
