The Godfather: baptism scene

Thank you, I couldn't find the scene - that's my favorite scene of all time, the one I was referring to in my post.

That other "Untouchables" scene is great as well; I've always thought that was an underrated film; it's not De Niro at his best, and it takes some liberties with history, but overall it's an excellent movie.

DaemonSeid 06-19-2008 03:03 PM

I will have to post it later..but one in From Dusk til Dawn where the hawker is 'selling p*ussy.'

PM_Mama00 01-18-2009 11:14 PM

Sidenote: Can you guys describe the scenes? Some of those youtube videos are not showing up.

Moonstruck: "I lost my hand, I lost my bride, Johnny has his hand Johnny has his bride..." then when they go upstairs and she calls him a wolf without a hand and slaps him "Snap out of it!" And the part where all the couples are staring at the crazy big moon and her grandpa is walking his 500 dogs and tries to get the dogs to howl. And then the morning after the opera when she's walking home. That neighborhood was my 2nd home growing up and Cammereri Brothers Bakery was across the street from my uncle's pizzeria and grandma's house. They all got to meet Cher. Alot of people don't know about this movie or like it. I LOVE it.

Breakfast Club: "Stupid worthless no good god damned free loading son of a bitch, retarded stupid know it all asshole jerk" "You forgot ugly, lazy and disrespectful"...

Twilight: "Say it! What am I?" ughhhhhh Edward is SO HOT there!

Varsity Blues: When they're playing Foo Fighter's "Hero" at the end.

Grapes of Wrath--The scene when Ma Joad (Jane Darwell) goes back into her bedroom before they leave the farm in Oklahoma. She opens the old dresser drawer, takes out a pair of fancy earrings, and holds them up on either side of her face just one more time.

The look in her old eyes and the image of her careworn face in that cracked, dusty mirror says it all. For just a second is was a young, hopeful girl again. She puts them back in the drawer, shuts it, and then leaves the house forever in the midst of the dust and despair of the wind.

LOVE it.

LeslieAGD 01-20-2009 09:09 PM

I couldn't find either of my favorite scenes on YouTube, but they are...

1) A Few Good Men...the scene where Tom Cruise is drunk and saying they shouldn't put Jessup on the stand: "eeehhhhh! Time's up! What do we have for the losers, judge? Well, for our defendants, it's a life time at exotic Fort Leavenworth! And, for defense counsel Kaffee, that's right, it's a court martial! Yes, Johnny! After falsely accusing a highly decorated Marine officer of conspiracy and perjury, Lieutenant Kaffee will have a long and prosperous career teaching... typewriter maintenance at the Rocco Globbo School for Women! Thank you for playing "Should we or should we not listen to the advice of the galactically stupid!"

2) Shag The Movie...Carson and Buzz in the closet at the house in Myrtle Beach: "You don't know me, you don't love me, you sure as all damn don't want to marry me, so why don't you leave me the hell alone?

I also love a bunch of scene from The American President, but the speech at the end is great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44R5BapEdYY

Phrozen1ne 02-02-2009 09:36 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkVcO...eature=related

One of my favorite Pesci scenes from the whole movie

PeppyGPhiB 02-17-2009 10:23 PM

The ending to The Pursuit of Happyness - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-2GJRixxRI
You probably have to see the movie to feel as overwhelmed as I did when watching it, but it's such a great ending.

The first Quidditch match in Harry Potter.

I have to bump this because I got the boxed set the other day and think these scenes are STILL some of the best of all time:

The Godfather- Baptism scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kYaolKQa1w

The Godfather-Final Scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG5Q5jemLi8

I tried to find the scene where Carlo dies, but no luck. That's also a really good one.

honeychile 11-12-2009 04:09 PM

When Colin Firth kisses Renee Zellweger at the end of Bridget Jones' Dairy:
"Nice boys don't kiss like that." #9.

littleowl33 11-12-2009 04:44 PM

Well, mine are a little more emo than everybody else's...

- In The Royal Tenenbaums, both the suicide scene (even though I don't like to watch the actual blood) and the scene in the tent afterwards where Margot says, "I think we're just going to have to be secretly in love and leave it at that."

- In Into the Wild, the scene at the very end when he says, "What if I were smiling and running into your arms? Would you see then what I see now?" So powerful.

- In American Beauty, when they're watching the video of the grocery bag blowing in the wind.

- In Marie Antoinette... well, pretty much the whole movie. I think it's such a beautiful film. But especially the coronation scene and the scene at the end, where you see the trashed bedroom and just hear birds singing.

- In The Matrix movies, a few scenes. The sex scene while the rave is going on in the huge cave is so hot. The whole part with the Merovingian and Persephone is really cool. The very last scene of the last movie, where the sun comes up and the Architect, the Oracle and Sati are talking in the park.

- In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, where they're in the beach house and all the sand is pouring in as his memory goes.

And for funny scenes...

- In Monty Python and the Holy Grail: "There are some who call me... Tim."

- In Little Miss Sunshine, the scene where's she dancing at the pageant is hysterical.

- In Anchorman: "I killed a man with a trident!"

- In The Hangover, when the little Asian guy jumps out of the trunk.

Psi U MC Vito 11-12-2009 05:15 PM

I'm sure I will post later, but the scene that pops to mind is the one from A Few Good Men when Tom Cruise is questioning Jack Nicholson and demands the truth from him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hGvQtumNAY

Shellfish 11-12-2009 06:03 PM

I still think the most romantic bit of any movie is from Valley Girl:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4b3g...om=PL&index=38

(specifically, the part from about 6:30 to 7:45)

SydneyK 11-17-2009 10:26 AM

I'm pretty bummed that every link I clicked on was fruitless! Everything has been removed (and rightfully so) due to copyright infringement. Oh well...

Leslie Anne 11-17-2009 12:19 PM

^^^ yeah, I had the same problems. I was finally able to find a few though.

A montage from The Royal Tenenbaums (that isn't in English): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTz9zZ2W9wQ

I don't usually like Amanda Plummer but I love this scene from The Fisher King: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qo1Oi8lwtA

The courtroom scene from Boondock Saints: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkqmMLi0b0Y

I really like the scene in "Return to Me" when Bob (David Duchovny) and Grace's (Minnie Driver) grandpa have a discussion about Grace's heart after Bob finds out it was his late wife's (Grace's heart was a transplant from her).. I wish I could find a clip on YouTube! Oh well here is the quote:

"I know that what's happened has been overwhelming. And I know it's going to take a while to sort it all out. But while you're sorting, I want you to remember that all the times I prayed that Gracie would have a second chance at life, I always knew that if God blessed us, the heart she got would have to be from a very special person, if it were going to be at home in Grace. When she met you, her heart beat truly for the first time. Perhaps it was meant to be with you always."- Return to Me

::sigh:: LOVE the last line especially!

That is an underappreciated movie. I love the whole double date in the restaurant scene...

"Do you have bottled water? I'll have that - as long as it's not Swiss. I got sick off of Swiss water once...And is everything here cooked in oil?"
"No, some of it we boil in Swiss water."
