Hey Leslie--
I would still be lovin' the lilywhites if my brother hadn't swiped the cd two days after it got here. I still can't find it. :( I think I might have to go home and beat him up this weekend for it. I awnt my cd back. LOL. :) Allison |
Decent at best.
I'm a huge dave fan as well, I mean, I pretty much know all of his songs by heart, and one thing that disappointed me on this one is that #40 is about 8 seconds long. It's probably my favorite song of his, and he just added nothing to the songs live. He did every song exactly like the cd versions, adding zero creative touch to them. To be blunt, they were boring. W/ Tim Reynolds he at least showed personality and I listen to it say, Damn I wish I was at that show. I listen to live in chi-town and I say, well, that was a decent show...so it's not bad, just kind of carbon-copy boring. If you actually like live stuff, or if you have the studio albums with these songs on it, I wouldn't recommend this one..It'll likely bore you too. |
Hmmm. See SigmaChiCard--that's what my brother is saying. And again, I have to point out-- WHY IS IT ANOTHER BTCS SET? Why not summer 2000 tour when they were playing tons of old stuff and the Lillywhites?
I encourage all you daveheads to head over to the nancies.org message boards. In two days I've got avid tape traders sending me cd's of 3 shows from this summer's tour (both vegas shows and the 6/11/giants stadium). My handle over there is LoveDMB412. I know, I know, gee how original. LOL Amy |
Amy dear, I'm glad you concur, I was fearing cyber decapitation. I, being far more original, and relatively bored with coming up with new usernames, and not exactly in fear of being messed with because of it, am CoryGreenwell on Nancies.org and you're the lone gal on my PM thinga-ma-jiga. Which could be found via my email anyway, so I'm not concerned.Do you have tapes you trade? See, I'd like to get tapes so that I could trade, so how'd you start a collection? Perhaps I could pay you a few bucks, just to start a collection going...feasible, yes? Hmm, we'll see........
|
Hey Cory-- No $$ necessary, DMB's policy is B&P only--blanks and postage. I don't have anything yet--but when I get them, I am happy to run copies for you!
What I am getting: Las Vegas 5/26/01 Las Vegas 5/27/01 Giants Stadium 6/11/01 That's only so far. :) I am in search of other shows too. :) Amy |
Maybe this will help
I find this guy thur Yahoo auctions on day. He has a ton of shows. Last summer I got the 7/9 and 7/13 shows from him. The quaility is excellent. His email addy is Bigdavefan1971@aol.com
PM me if you want me to foward you the email of some of the shows he has. As soon as I get some money, I'm getting the Jazzfest show from him |
As soon as you get some money???
From the website-- All recordings must be used for personal use or trading only. Selling or commercializing any recording is illegal and will jeopardize taping privileges for everyone. Please read our Bootleg Statement for more information Its against DMB policy to have people SELL their taped shows. Now, I am not coming down on YOU, but on this guy if he's charging you for it-- Unless, of course you are only talking about $$ for Blanks and Postage. :) Amy |
Umm I think I'm in trouble
The guys has a list of shows and he burns them for you. All you have to do is send him money. Before I left Baton Rouge to come to Texas, there was a record store near campus and occassionally, they would have bootleg Dave shows. One that comes to mind is Crashing the Quarter.
I honestly did not realize that I was breaking the law. Thanks so much for pointing that out to me. Otherwise, I would have kept doing it and messed things up for everybody! :( |

Summer So Far is the real title of the Lillywhite Sessions. And, rumor had it Dave, Cater, Stefan, Boyd and LeRoi headed into the studio in San Francisco TODAY to begin recording the NEW album. GOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE TOUR! I AM TOTALLY OBSESSING ABOUT IT! I just got the Dream Set List compilation from one of the nancies.org folks and I've gotta say ITS AMAZING! |
hey fellow daveheads!

I'm going to the May 7th concert here in Dallas. I got my tickets the day they went on sale back in Feb. I got plaza level seats which is the next section after the floor.
Don't worry, I will be on here the next day with a full report. I am so excited. We get paid the Friday before the concert. My check is going to be fat cause I worked some overtime last week. I'm going to have lots of money to spend at the concert. |
NEW CD!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOOOOO psyched for the new cd. It's coming out in June and July and is going to have 10 tracks remastered from the Lillywhites AND 2 new tracks. Apparantly the new cuts put the original Lillywhite tunes to shame. Don't know about the rest of you who have had the opportunity to hear them (I know AmyCat and Tigergrl have), but I can't fathom those songs being BETTER. Well, that's not totally true. The last few tracks were a bit odd.
Prospective...you gotta give us scoop on how all the new songs sound at the concert. And Amy, given that you're going to umpteen shows, I expect an extremely detailed report and comparison!!! I had to miss the concert cause the tickets went on sale at the brokest point in my life :( . I hear it was a great show tho. Hopefully I'll catch them next time around... |
I saw that story yesterday and LOVE it!
Closest I've been to Dave is about 10 feet away at a private acoustic performance last summer in Las Vegas. So he definitely heard me when I screamed "I LOVE YOU DAVE!" lol |
My report
The concert was awesome.
Here is the setlist: Too Much I Did It Rhyme and Reason You Never Know(new song) The Space Between Grey Street What Would You Say Where Are You Going(new song) What You Are Instrumental song that kind of along the lines of #34. really pretty song. One Sweet World Crush Drive In Drive Out Pig Two Step Sleep to Dream Her Ants Marching Everyday(which he did solo) Tripping Billies I had the best time. It should be a law that everyone see Two Step performed live at least once in their life time. And Everyday---OMG!!! This version was even better then the one I heard at Jazzfest. Just Dave singing by himself. I almost started crying:o It was that great. The new songs were good. They sound like the Dave Mathews Band of old. They are the kind of songs that we have come to know, love, and expect from Dave. Whenever the new albums come out, they will definetly be songs. I will be playing over and over. Who is the producer on the new album, does anyone know? |
I agree with you on Two Step-==its my favorite and I've NEVER seen it live-- hopefully in the So Cal shows I will!
I'm glad your show was so AMAZING!!!! :) Tripping Billies, Ants, AND Two Step?? You Lucky Lucky girl!!! |
Finding Lillywhite
I downloaded a couple of the songs from Lillywhite through Bearshare. I'm not a big fan of the album. Everyday wasn't too bad overall, but I really "The Space Between." (Maybe because a friend says that reminds him of our relationship.)
