I think it's a new low for Barbara Walters...and Oprah. This is the stuff Jerry Springer is made of.

Even in completely impoverished, malnourished conditions, the segregation of gender at least as the genetic level is maintained.

Fascinating! Thanks for the biology lesson. One thing I'd like to note, though, is that sex (female, male) is biological; gender (feminine, masculine, androgynous) is social.

Well said. I don't believe it's our place to say otherwise. Besides, what's the need to pin this person down with labels, anyway? Unless you were hoping to date him, it shouldn't really concern you.

Not only is that inflammatory, but it also is a logical fallacy.

Debatable.

Eta: I say this because I read a book called "All She Wanted", by Aphrodite Jones, which was the story of Teena Brandon (i.e. the "Boys Don't Cry" movie). When Teena's Mom was pregnant with her, the Mom did take a short course of some type of hormone therapy (I can't remember what for...) and I'm convinced that the fetus of Teena being exposed to that adversely affected her.

I have to wonder also what effect those hormones will have on the first baby. According to what I have read, "he" did not go back on the hormones after the birth of the first baby. If so, how is it he still have facial hair?

Personally, I feel sorry for the children of this couple. Can you imagine the ridicule they are going to face growing up?

This needed to be said.
