Because--yes, she'll be using her 8 sisters as bridesmaids as well as 2 of her Zeta sisters and 3 friends from home. Buying 8 dresses and 13 bouquets is going to be pricey!

No problem, let me know if you have any questions about it.

Also they do 110% price matching guarantee which is awesome! I found that Houseofbrides.com sold larger sized dress (size 18+) a bit cheaper so I mentioned that to Netbride and not only did they match that price but they gave me free shipping on my entire order!

Wow! 13 bridesmaids!?!?! I'd love to see the photographer's face when s/he hears how big the wedding party is. :D

I went to a fall wedding a few years ago. They used the colder weather to their advantage by offering (among other things) hot spiced cider and hot chocolate at the reception. It was great!

Well, the photographer for the first daughter's wedding knew it would be like that because he's also a teacher at the high school that the Carnations go to!

Our first daughter was married at Christmas and she had a "Christmas morning breakfast reception", including hot cocoa! Now this one will be getting married in September so it'll be about 90 degrees in Alabama at that point...no cocoa for sure!

We took pictures of her trying on the gown but I wonder if I could somehow find the picture from David's Bridals website.

I missed this whole conversation until right now...congratulations! Our oldest is so excited that she was asked to be the only "sorority sister" in a wedding this summer...her first time as a bridesmaid.

How exciting--have fun planning!

Hey, Carnation! I missed this thread until now, as well. Congrats on another upcoming wedding. The bridesmaids dresses are so classy, I'm sure all the girls are thrilled at your daughter's choice. And yes, please try to post a pic of the wedding dress.

Has anyone seen the book "Pretty Party Cakes"? We just bought it at Michael's today...we love it! It's got some really unusual fondant cakes and she's found 3 that she adores.

Thanks, NUBlue and BBelle! :)

Love the bridesmaid dresses too! Simple and classic is the way to go. And  at the size of the wedding party! I think it's so wonderful, though, to have all of her 8 sisters as bridesmaids. I always imagine growing up in the Carnation household as growing up in one big, fun, sorority house. Although I guess there are guys there too (LOL).

Hope you find the wedding dress shot online b/c it sounds GORGEOUS. Not to mention different from the norm--my friends are all in wedding season now, and while there are many pretty dresses out there, it seems like a lot of the dresses lately look almost exactly the same.

ETA: Was there a thread like this for your first daughter's wedding? I searched but I couldn't find it. I swear there should be an index of the important "carnation nation" threads (just kidding... sort of).

Haha, the Carnation Nation forum! :D

The dress is beautiful-love the pale pink, just the touches here and there. The back is riveting. Oh-the bride is quite beautiful, too!!:D

Two months to go.

The church carpet is a pale blue and the attendants' dresses are pale green and shell pink, so the florist has come up with an idea for bouquets that use different kinds of flowers in each of the 3 colors so that each bridesmaid has a different bouquet. My favorite is pale green hydrangeas, shell pink roses, and blue delphinium!

Her reception will kind of be like a Southern church "dinner on the grounds", if you know what that is. Lots of good hearty Southern favorites! She and her future mother-in-law have found several pink and green teapots which, when filled with small flowers, will be the centerpieces along with some quilts that will somehow be used in there.

It just hit my husband that not only will he have to miss going to the local high school football game (that 1 son is playing in and 1 daughter is cheering at) for the rehearsal dinner but he'll miss the afternoon SEC football game during the wedding! Too bad for him, the Dawgs will survive without him for a day!;)

The BM dresses look a lot like mine...my colors were peridot (a little darker than celadon) and various shades of pink...I think the idea of incorporating the color of the carpet in with the flowers is a great idea

*sigh* The word lovely just doesn't seem to do it justice!
