what will it be like for these parents when they have the two twins in 9th grade and the six in 5th grade? OMG. Can you imagine the school papers and books and activities and the insanity? Eight cell phones? Will they have to build a computer lab in their house?
|
I saw the Mother's Day episode this week. Awww. I want to know what spa Kate went to, it looked awesome!
|

It's the spa at the Hotel Hershey. I thought the same thing too, so I made sure to make note of it in the closing credits. Mmm...HERSHEY... |
I think it was in Hershey, PA. When they were rolling the credits at the end I *think* I saw them thank a spa in Hershey. But I don't know the name of it.
edit: oops- I see someone beat me to the answer. OTW is quicker than me! |
I definitely saw that episode.
This is like the only show I actually watch weekly (Everything else I watch are reruns. I hate having to schedule a time to watch a certain show) |
Did anyone catch the Behind the Scenes episode last night?
Jon & Kate mentioned that prior to the 6 pack being born, they made home movies of everything. Once the babies were born, everything stopped. It never dawned on me that letting the cameras into their lives was a great way to capture every moment and memory. It was neat seeing Jon & Kate's home movies before the twins. Kate and her long blonde hair. Jon...leaner. Cara and Mady with their bald round baby heads. What's good is that they don't know when this series will end. Kate made mention of getting emails from viewers begging them to keep it on for as long as possible because they love seeing the kids grow up. |

I wish they would have shown more of the home movies- they were so cute! And I totally understand the lack of home movies for the 6 pack- I have 3 kids and I have tons of home movies and pictures of the first, a bunch from the second, but the third one has been totally jiped. I have to make a point to get out the video camera to film him occasionally.
And I love how they showed the crew members interacting with the kids-- so they do help out when they can! And did anyone else ever notice the set in the corner of the basement before? Maybe they just don't film it when they are showing the kids running around the basement... |

I read somewhere that they're writing a book and the seasons will be on DVD soon. |
I can no longer watch this show. Something about Kate annoys the crap out of me.
|
I sometimes have to turn it off because all those kids whining and crying grates on my last nerve!
I think Kate's mannerism is part of what the producer probably makes for good TV. You tend to think of moms with large families being the kind of people who can let a lot of stuff go by without really tripping out about it. She trips on everything! Helps us regular everyday moms with just a few kids keep the chaos in our own lives in perspective! |
The baby is sick so I missed the new episode last night! Well, at least I know it will be on next week right before the new one.
Sunday night they had the original special on (Surviving Twins and septuplets or something like that) but with Jon and Kate commentary. Anyone else see it? |

Loved loved loved their Christmas episode. I remember that one episode where they showed the family picking out the Christmas tree and the amount of presents under and around the tree was just massive! But back then the babies were too little know what was going on. Poor Hannah wet her pants. :( Jon gets funnier and snarkier with each episode. I love it! "Oh look! Dress up for boys! No more high heels!" Glad to see that Kate finally got a new [pink] camera. God knows we've all heard her complaining about her old crappy one. |
FYI- Jon and Kate are going to be on Oprah today!

Kate didn't seem like her annoying self, and it's as if she sounded "younger"...much like in the home movies they aired two weeks ago. I wondered how it was going to be like for them to haul themselves (plus their 3 helpers - Aunt Jodi, Beth, and Beth's daughter?) from PA to Chicago. We got to see Alexis melt down on the plane. I can only imagine how it was like for the other passengers on that flight! What a big change from their appearance on the Martha Stewart Show! The kids weren't on that long, but they did have a hard time keeping still. Aaden and Collin even managed to beat each other up on the Oprah couch. Can't wait to see their Oprah episode! |
I was pulled into a meting at work, so I had to miss them on Oprah (I was going to try and watch it in the breakroom). So thanks for the recap! I'm sure the Oprah episode is going to be great... Now if I can just stay awake tonight to watch the new episode on TLC
|
I just watched them on Oprah. I might have to start watching this show. At least this huge fam is not portrayed like the duggars
|
That little transitional song that plays on the show always reminds me of something...and I just figured it out today. It's the iPhone song! Has anyone else noticed that?
|
Did anyone see Monday's episode? I was so shocked to see Kate break down the way she did! That's a side of her they've never shown.
|
I know - but I think it is totally understandable. I get terribly frustrated when traveling by air even when I don't have kids - never mind 8 of them - and I have a delay. Add the kids, lacks of sleep, and frustration together and I'm not a bit surprised. I'd cry, too! (That's one reason I swear I would rather drive my 4 kids places - at least I can pull over when I want, go when I want - I have some control.)

I also liked how Kate precautionary measures in protecting the 6 pack -- taking black tape to cover their first names on their backpacks. It's a scary thought thinking strangers could lure the babies like that. And poor Alexis! I didn't know she slept in the basement away from everyone because she wakes up the other kids. :( I didn't sleep in my own room in my own bed until I was 5, I think. At least the basement at night isn't too scary for her! The e-mail episode was also funny. It's nice how Jon and Kate can be so open and candid like that. "Our children DO sleep!" I mean, can you imagine the Duggars talking about how they make time for intimacy? |
I loved Kate's reaction to the question!
|
Anyone watch last night? I finally saw the "interview corner" in the basement (during the scavenger hunt). And I loved how Alexis got so excited over the aligator in her Valentine;s Day bag.
|
I loved the edible PlayDough recipe! I want to make it for the kids I babysit.

I was a little surprised that the Gosselins are looking to move again, considering they just moved into their current house not too long ago. But when you think about it, it does make sense. Those kids are growing fast, and their house won't be able to handle it! Hopefully they'll get the acres they've been dreaming of.
They had the Early Years marathon last night, and it was neat seeing the 6 pack as tiny babies again. |
I saw like 20min of it last night and it was cool to see them older and talking more. Very cute kids. :)
|
I noticed that they have a book that you can now pre-order on Amazon (use the greek chat link if you want it:)). I will probably wait and check it out from the library though.
|
I never thought you'd be able to tell the sextuplets apart, but as they've gotten older, you can totally see exactly what Jon and Kate have been talking about!
|
I like how they're taking the kids out one at a time. They know it's important for each child to have individualized attention and it's neat to see the different personalities and different interests.
Leah's still my favorite. 'Cause she's little! |

I was reading on another message board that yesterday (5/10) was the sextuplets' 4th Birthday! Happy Birthday Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel! To think, we first saw them when they first started walking.
Am enjoying the TLC marathon right now! |
Gosselin Family on the Today Show
I missed it myself - but Jon, Kate and family were on the Today Show this morning!
Jon Gosselin has eight reasons to feel blessed, not just on Father’s Day, but every day. “Every day I thank god I have healthy kids,” said the father of twins and sextuplets whose family is the star of the TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” The show is the most-watched on TLC, and kicks off its fourth season with a one-hour special next Monday, June 16. I found the full story here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25106856/ with the video. |

My wife loves this show - it seems like it has been on more regularly. It used to be that she was only watching it Monday nights when I got home, but it seems like every night I come home to find her watching an episode.
|
I don't know if it was ever posted in this thread but the Gosselin's website is
http://www.sixgosselins.com |
I just heard about this show. We'll have to see it--I remember seeing the show on Discovery (?) years ago where Kate got plastic surgery to get rid of her post-baby belly. It looked like Squidward's nose!
But lol at you guys who are wondering how you take 8 little ones to WDW. Hey, we've done it with our 13 and no help from cameramen! You just do what you have to. We were featured on CNN once and had to deal with some stalkerish people. Based on that, I'm don't think I'd want a show, website, or message board! Big family life is a whole different ball game. You definitely have to make the kids your life for them to turn out well-adjusted. |
I checked GC right before the Today Show aired this morning and I was able to catch it. They all looked so cute in yellow!
I'm very excited to see this Monday's episode about Jon & Kate in the early years. It'll be neat to see the twins when they were babies. And how great that Season 4 starts Monday as well. If only our other favorite shows could be quick like that! |
