I sent them to you this morning and uploaded them onto my facebook album (and tagged you). (I'm happy to share if anyone's interested!)

adpideltaup 03-20-2008 07:05 AM

Ok ladies now that we have our 115 Alphas some of you have asked about address to send cards etc- here it is:

Alpha Delta Pi
c/o Jessica Lamb
218 Trabant University Center
Newark, DE 19711

The Philly alum group is also collecting notes from alumnae and chapters to individual members to be made into a book and given to each person at their initiation- so if you would like to hand write a note and send it to include in this book, then PM me and I will give you the address for that too :)

adpi*violet 03-21-2008 12:24 AM

Can we send stuff too? I have a few book bags, t-shirts, stickers, etc to possibly send. (Need to go through my stuff.)

adpideltaup 03-21-2008 12:26 AM

Definitely!!! We've already started receiving donations (both money and stuff) from alumnae and collegians- it's amazing so far but there are so many Alphas that we can definitely use alot more :)

Thanks for thinking to ask!

adpi*violet 04-04-2008 11:01 AM

"Stuff" sent on Monday. I had more t-shirts/ sweatshirts than I thought.
OK- now I need somewhere to buy "grown-up" alumna shirts. Similar to the polos Gift Mart sells, but I don't know if I like those ones!
I sent off all my old "letter" shirts as I'm tired of being told I look like I am 16-19 years old. Wearing my old college/sorority t-shirts only increased that perception, when in fact I am 10-12 years older than people think I am! I spose I'll appreciate it in another 10-12 years, but right now it's just annoying! :)

adpideltaup 04-07-2008 08:32 AM

Wonderful- thanks!!!!!!!

[mini-hijack] I have more letter shirts now than I did in college! Then, I had a lot of event shirts which I don't have now.
Yes, one day you will appreciate looking younger than your age - especially if you still look 10 years younger than you are then!! [/mini-hijack]

What are your thoughts on sending stuff from other universities that have that school's or chapter's name printed on it? Would the Delaware ladies be interested in shirts that have another school on them?

adpideltaup 04-19-2008 03:29 PM

I know that other chapters have sent theirs and we know that the colony members think it's a "cool idea" - they receive all the items that have been sent to them on initiation weekend ...

adpideltaup 04-19-2008 03:33 PM

Sisters-

Here's the information for initiation weekend which is actually not that far off- (we're having colony officer elections on Tuesday night!)- if you are nearby or even close to near by- here's how you can help:

Unbelievable as it seems, initiation of the colony members at the University of Delaware is right around the corner and we need your help. As there will be 115 members to initiate, there's a great need to have over 80 sisters present to help make this happen. We know that final exams impact on some of our nearby chapters but are hoping that sisters can take some time out of their schedules to attend this historical event. Many chapter sisters across the District have served as Distant Diamond Sisters to the Alphas at Delaware, so you can only imagine how special it would be if some of those Diamond sisters could be present for their Alpha's initiation. Have I inspired you yet?

Here's the information:

Schedule of the weekend:
Friday night- visiting sisters bring ritual equipment- time and location to be confirmed separately
Saturday morning- visiting chapter and alumnae sisters arrive to Goddard school in Newark by 9:15am so we can prepare and start initiation by 10am. Initiation will be conducted in 4 rooms simultaneously in order to efficiently initiate this many women in one day.
Saturday evening- at 7pm at Clayton Hall on campus, we will have the officer installation and campus reception. This is also the time where chapter and association gifts will be presented to the colony members. So if you chapter wants to send a gift or still have tshirts or other gently used items you would like to donate, please contact me and I can give you the contact information for LC Jessica.
Sunday- installation banquet- Doubletree in downtown Wilmington- reception with Grand Council starts at 11:30am followed by the luncheon starting at noon. Gift Mart will be present for shopping opportunities. All members wanting to attend will need to pay $35 for the luncheon and should RSVP to me ASAP and send $35 to EO (attention Bethany Griffis). Dress will be Derby theme (sundresses, floral prints, think spring!!). Guests from campus, parents, dates are all invited as well.

I know this schedule may mean for some alumna and collegians that you would need to or want to stay over in the area to participate- as we are nearing year end for most chapters and many of you should have a cushion left in your budgets, please consider the ability to use some chapter funds for members to rent a hotel one evening or to attend the luncheon or pay for mileage to help encourage women to attend this event.

And if you cannot attend, we are still asking for your support- via gifts, or especially hand written notes by your chapter members and association members written to the colony members that we can provide to them following their initiation.

Please confirm dates and attendees as soon as possible. PM me :)

adpideltaup 04-29-2008 11:18 PM

This weekend is initiation and installation- think of us :) and hopefully some of my sisters on GC sent letters/tshirts etc :)

honeychile 04-30-2008 12:01 AM

adpideltaup, my letter to the adddress above came back. Do you think it was (yet another) postal error? Also, could I send a little something to them, for next year's Recruitment? Do they do so from a suite, house, or ??

adpideltaup 05-01-2008 11:21 PM

Not sure why it came back- we've been sending all sorts of stuff to Jessica there (and it's been getting through)- all the groups there recruit from a conference center..

Off to prepare for this weekend :)

TinyDancer98 05-02-2008 01:18 AM

I am heading up with several of my sisters tomorrow for initiation. We're in the middle of our finals week so only a few of us are able to go, but I am excited to go! I was just initiated this semester and I am really excited to meet sisters from other chapters =)

FirstAndFinest 05-02-2008 06:48 AM

YAY!!

So far, the GS sisters going to UDel are...
Alphadeltaup
TinyDancer98
ForeverSAI
FirstAndFinest

Who else??

adpideltaup 05-02-2008 11:57 AM

And I'm off to head down to DE- we should get a GC picture and post here later :)

Our newest chapter, Theta Delta, will be installed on Sunday and lots of initiations to do tomorrow :)

Kali-n-Kohl 05-02-2008 02:36 PM

I think (and don't hold me to this because well, my brain is a big ol' pile of mush) but one of the Alpha Iota girls that I graduated with is the Chapter Advisor for the UofD chapter. I'm not close with her, but if she's anything like she was when we were in chapter together, she'll do a great job for those girls.

I know another girl I went to chapter with is going up to help with initiation this weekend too. Hopefully she'll let me know how that goes, I know that they have a huge group of girls, (as others have stated).

Wishing all those involved nothing but the best this weekend.

I think I know the advisor you're talking about!

Heading to bed real soon (its 7:50pm EDT). Gotta leave the house by 7AM - on a Saturday!!!

FirstAndFinest 05-03-2008 07:04 PM

YAY THETA DELTA!!!!

We now have a new Chapter!! It was a long day - and I was only there today for Initiation, not the set up - but absolutely amazing. I will absolutely consider going to W&L for their initiation (er - if gas is not at $10/gal. and if I'm not travelling for work)!

I couldn't find TinyDancer98. ForeverSAI left before I could grab her for a GC picture. I guess alphadeltup and I shoulda taken one of just us two, but like I said.... it was a LONG day!! :p

honeychile 05-03-2008 09:13 PM

CONGRATULATIONS
TO OUR NEWEST
SISTERS!!!!

F&F, I do hope you told them to come look us up! I'd surely love to talk to a few!

OMG, it was so hectic, there really wasn't time to talk with them about anything other than the business at hand!! (it was extremely well-organized, don't get me wrong, it was not chaos, but stilll.... chit-chat with Deltas and Pis yes - with Alphas, no.)

TinyDancer98 05-04-2008 08:34 PM

F&F, I certainly would have tried to find you but I would have no idea how to go about it! I was introduced to so many people, so I apologize if we met and I didn't know who you were. I loved meeting so many people, particularly alumnae from my chapter. Being a newly initiated sister too it was really interesting see so many initiations. It definitely was a long day but I am really glad we went :-)

Kali-n-Kohl 05-04-2008 09:06 PM

Glad to hear it was a huge success!

Ohhh.... thanks for the correction. I didn't know if she was the chapter advisor or not.
