i'm sorry too, i didn't mean anything by it but i was just giving an example. i can understand where you're coming from by saying your offended, i would be too if i was an sdt. but that's absolutely no reason to jump down my or anybody's throat. that is how these stupid petty arguments on the INTERNET start... which makes everybody involved look like little high schoolers. just my 2 cents

Also I get a feeling that we aren't at her school (but I could be wrong) |

Buttonz, or anyone-- I did not mean any harm.... so sorry if I offended you. I hoped the way that I typed my post clearly stated that the sole reason I thought the OP meant Sigma Delta Tau was that the letters looked like the word EAT. I meant no offense to you or anyone else in that sorority. I'm truly sorry if my post came across wrong!

okay ladies! Last Post!
So... in the end, i decided rank #1 Izzy and #2 Bailey, and let the man upstairs take care of the rest (and he did) And then... i opened my envelope and sawwwwwww Bailey! Alpha Sigma Alpha! It was a shock that Izzy had cut me at the last minute, but i was okay... cause i got ASA and some of the best sisters i could have ever asked for! We were 2 under quota, COB'ed hardcore! and are currently the 3rd biggest chapter. I love my sisters so much and i feel like this is such a good fit for me! we are working really hard to change our image on campus, and like to think that people dont see us as a default chapter anymore! but we know that sisterhood is more important that looks, cars, or purses... and i feel like we attract girls who realize that... oh and jen? she got Meredith... and she and some of her pledge sisters deactived themselves a couple of weeks after initiation... go figure |
Congrats to you and ASA!!!

Congrats and I'm glad you found a home with ASA. |
I'm glad you were strong enough to do what was right for you. Unfortunately, great chapters stay low in the ranks because girls are too afraid to break with "tradition" and choose a chapter that fits them well but doesn't have a strong "reputation." I hope you enjoy every second with your ASA sisters!

Thanks for posting this thread! Something people fail to realize is that chapters change. For example, my chapter went from one of the smallest, to the one of the top 3 (of 7) largest in 2 years. Also, reputations change. The sorority that was considered "the best" when I was a freshman, is certainly not now.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Buttonz it's fine, i was just like WHOA!!! |
ooo congratulations! Love the phoenix symbol ;).

People also don't consider that if a large group of PNMs joins a smaller chapter, they are no longer a smaller chapter! Also, that new member class will form the personality of the chapter because they will outnumber the others, particularly if they keep recruiting women like them.

Congratulations!

Belated congratulations to you and ASA! I'm glad you followed your heart and found a chapter that is a great fit for you.

Congrats sister!!!!!!!! Alpha Love! <3

Maybe I'm loosing it, but haven't we had a few ASA new members lately? I seem to remember a lot of girls in fall of this year or maybe spring of last year?
|
Ahhh!! I'm so excited! I was just reading along, never expecting an ASA finish. Congratulations. I hope you love your sorority experience as much as I have:)
Whoo-Hoo! |
i think that was what i was trying to show with this thread. that what other people think doesnt matter. if you really connect with a chapter, go for it, join and then work hard to make that chapter the best it can be. i know if i had gone to Meredith's pref party and put them on my bid card i would have gotten a bid (jen told me they really wanted me) but i dont care cause they do not represent the sisterhood i want. and even though i did like izzy, i feel like everything happens for a reason, and ive found my home.
as we always say... with your letters in front of you, and your sisters behind you, you can take on anything. |
greekgirlie88, you have a wonderful outlook. If more PNMs looked at Recruitment the way you did, there would be much better retention, across the boards!
|
Welcome to the sisterhood!
