SthrnZeta 05-29-2008 01:35 AM

I so wish I had a big group of girls to go with! Instead, I'm having brunch with my mom and seeing a matinee while my dad replaces my ugly fluorescent light in my kitchen with something more attractive. Girls night out on Thursday instead. ::shrugs:: I'll most likely D/L the movie and watch it over and over anyway like the rest of my SATC DVDs, lol.

And am I the only one who cries a little when I see the previews like a teenage Elvis fan from the 1950s? I have been so freakin excited for this movie!

Hi Soror 1908Revelations.

**comes into SATC Anon Meeting**

Hi everybody. My name is Unspokenone and I'm a SATC Addict. ::crying:: I've watched the trailer and spoilers at least a dozen times.

The first step is to admit there is a problem. :D

Hello....

I am DaemonSeid and I am not an addict.

I am an enabler.

I got my one of my best friends all of the DVDs in the series and she is bugging me to drive up to Philly to go see.

See...what had happened was...she didn't have cable and spent most of the time it was on at my crib (or whoever's house she could get to) watching the show and complained about the syndication...so the DVDs were a godsend.

Help!

What we would do for Big Brother threads is to post spoiler info in white color text. That way, people can still scroll through the threads without reading the spoilers. The only way to read them is if you go to the "quote" function where the text appears black.

You bet' not!!!! :mad::mad:

DSTCHAOS 05-29-2008 03:08 PM

I watched the SATC reruns last night where Big was acting like the perfect boyfriend and stuff. The one when Big showed up at the bar at the last minute and that made Miranda decide to give the nice bartender guy a chance.

I got excited because they kept showing the commercials.

DreamfulSpirit 05-29-2008 03:23 PM

So excited to see it tonight!! I will try not to spoil it for everyone :p

I will take sigmadiva's suggestions and post in white. But you KNOW that you are going to highlight it *pinching Chaos's cheeks*.:)

WHat is up with the VitaminWater commercials? What does SATC have to do with water? I guess they are dehydrated from drinking all of those cosmos? LOL

I am going to watch season 1 today!!! (I got it on DVD for Christmas a few years ago) I think TBS should have ran a season 6 marathon....esp American Girl in Paris part Deux

ladylike 05-29-2008 03:51 PM

I plan to see it late Saturday morning, so hopefully I will avoid the crowds and crazies.

Speculation and questions: The commercials I've seen show no hint of Steve or am I missing them? I hope they don't cut out Steve. I loved Steve. :)

Jennifer Hudson is in it. :(

I hope "Carrie" dials back the coy act/looks a bit. She's too long in the tooth to be acting like that.

I don't know! I saw that the other night. I was like, "huh?" I didn't see the connection. Anyway, I'm very upset because two of my pledge sisters have gone and bought advanced tickets and are taking the train into the city to see it on Friday night. I can't go :( But I figure it will be a whole less chaotic if I wait a few weeks and see it somewhere on the Island! I'm so very excited.

i wish MY friends took that advice of buying tickets in advance. now we're screwed and cant see it tomorrow nite. cause, OMG can you believe its sold out everywhere on Manhattan Island?

yeah, what else is every gal and gay doing tomorrow night? cosmos and MOVIE. and ill be at freaking home.

DSTCHAOS 05-29-2008 04:15 PM

I suggested buying the tickets in advance and my pals haven't picked up on the idea yet. I don't want to be pushy but I don't want to be the only one who buys in advance and gets in the movie.

DreamfulSpirit 05-29-2008 04:21 PM

I purchased tickets through Fandango since I'm gonna be seeing it about an hour and a half away. I've never used them before...but I think I'll be ok!

omg that is hilarious! i wanted a pair of Manolos, but then i looked at one in person. first, the pricetag is INSANE. as insane as the heel and the arch. i have a hard enough time walking in slippers.

speedsters 05-29-2008 04:56 PM

I saw it Wednesday afternoon (I live in Ireland and it premiered here yesterday!!) and it was FABULOUS!!!!!
My friends and I went dressed up and so where a lot of people.
It was really good, great clothes, and it felt like one reallly long episode. I had been pretty good about not reading too much about it before, because I wanted to be surprised but for the most part what I though was going to happen did. There was one part that seriously everyone in the theatre went OMG!!! WHAT! but it was good.
I can't wait until all my friends back home see it Friday, so I can finally talk to them about it.

My friends and I watched season 6 over the weekend, so we were more than ready and then went out after for cosmos (at the only bar in Cork to serve cocktails).

Oh and vitamin water is in the movie a lot, and it drove me insane. I am missing it like crazy and they have nothing like it here, I can't wait for a visit home this summer!

ENJOY THE MOVIE!!

unspokenone25 05-29-2008 05:05 PM

Well, I included the link to purchase the tickets in advance in the invitation that I sent out to the friends. I just checked online and it appears they will no longer be able to purchase the tickets for the showing online. Oh well. I gave them heffas plenty of notice. I bought an extra ticket just in case.

SthrnZeta 05-29-2008 08:54 PM

How in the hell do Europeans get to see it before us?? That makes no sense and is completely unfair! Hmph!

I'm so tempted to go see it tonight but my mom got us tickets for the noon show tomorrow. Not sure I can wait.... I doubted it would come out for so long and then I heard the rumors confirmed and I almost cried - Jonathan laughed and he said he was glad he didn't have to take me (he knows if he were here he would sooo have to). Getting soooo excited!!!

We got out tickets for 7 and I really don't want to wait until then.:(

There's a 12:01 showing tonight and I'm seriously tempted to go see it and not tell my mom... noon tomorrow is too far away. And no, delayed gratification is not in my vocabulary!

Where do you think I got that phrase? ;) yeah, I think Carrie would forgive a moment of immaturity for this.... And I already texted my contact at the theater and they're not sold out for tonight's showing yet...

I say go for it. I have seen many a midnight showing. Half the fun is being one of the first to see the movie, the other half is seeing it with others who are that excited to see it at midnight.

I took your advise, sis, and I loved it! Mom won't know I already saw it :o And it was everything I hoped it would be :D

Spoiler: Carrie ends up with Big, Samantha dumps Smith, Charlotte is gloriously happy and has a baby, Miranda dumps Steve when he admits he cheated but they get back together in a really sweet way. Happily ever after in it's own SATC way! A lot of the good one-liners were in the previews but there were a few really good ones left. I cried at a couple of spots and laughed really hard in some spots, just like a long episode basically. <--End spoiler. For those of you who can't wait to find out what happens (I know I'm pretty nosey so I couldn't wait, lol).

1908Revelations 05-30-2008 02:56 AM

^Damn.....I am mad at my self for not being able to practice restraint. Man.....I am NOT getting on GC again until I see the movie.

SthrnZeta and I are gonna meet outside when the bell rings at 3:00!

SthrnZeta 05-30-2008 02:58 AM

I so knew you'd be the first!!! LMAO! It's ok, I couldn't practice restraint either and went to see the very first showing. I am indeed immature in Carrie's book. And I'm ok with that. Which room are the meetings in again?

SthrnZeta 05-30-2008 03:02 AM

The all important shoes... You'll see ;)

speedsters 05-30-2008 05:30 AM

Yea, I don't know why it opened up first in Europe. But I'm not complaining :)

But then I have to wait months for Grey's (Season 4 starts Tuesday!) and other such things.

And part of the fun was definitely seeing it with a full theatre and all the gasps and omg!

DreamfulSpirit 05-30-2008 09:06 AM

Saw it last night, and yes it is indeed FABULOUS!!! My b/f went with me to see it, even he was laughing throughout the entire movie!!

I'm not gonna say anything to spoil it on here :p

unspokenone25 05-30-2008 09:33 AM

**kicks rocks** Damn, spoilers and such. :p I still can't wait to see it tonight.

Still BLUTANG 05-30-2008 11:54 AM

covering eyes and sticking fingers in ears

excited about tonight!!!!!

BabyPiNK_FL 05-30-2008 12:51 PM

It was amazing! I laughed, I cried, I betrayed, I forgave. This is definitely one of the highlights of my movie watching career. You don't need spoilers for this because it's pretty predictable. I wish J. Hud's role had not been so ...-the way it is. It was pretty lame although she did actually add something to the film. Charlotte is a real doll and shines the whole film.

One thing: The scene with the town car and the limo in the street...writing GENIUS! I was crying so hard I missed stuff! That was THE best scene I've ever seen in a movie. I would have definitely done the same thing, too!

that shoe is major!

SthrnZeta 05-30-2008 03:21 PM

Baby, I agree. I cried a lot - even more on the second viewing of it today with my mom, lol. It was better the second time around!
