SigmaChiCard 06-21-2001 02:42 AM

mine is hardly menionable
1996 Toyota Tercel
called the "BlackHawk"

my last car was "the silver bullet"

but..
my lil bro in Sigma Chi recently decided to sell his 2001 BMW M5 after having it for only 4-5 months because he no longer likes sedans and he wanted an SUV...

I'm trying now to convince him to get a Range Rover, but he thinks they're ugly

GmuTeke 06-21-2001 09:51 AM

The "Teke Taxi" (I often DD) is a 2000 Hyundai Elantra that's maroon colored. Not flashy, but big enough to pile 3 other guys in there and still have room for buckets if things get queasy.

aopirose 06-21-2001 10:53 AM

2001 Lexus ES 300 Limited Coach Edition. Oyster Pearl exterior, Ivory interior. I LOVE IT! It's like floating on a cloud.

ZTAngel 06-21-2001 11:01 AM

I have a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2. It's one of the few cars that Ford makes that doesn't brake down every month. Probably because it is modeled after the Mazda Mx6 which is a Japanese car.

AlphaGam1019 06-21-2001 02:40 PM

I drive a 99 Toyota Camry, Hunter Green/Gray (it's two-toned) It has gold trim and is fully loaded. I love it :0)

crazyleggedsigma 06-24-2001 07:35 PM

88 Tercel. Yes, I said 88, not 98! My first car, and one I'll probably be stuck with for a long time. It was one of those little old lady church/grocery store cars and only had 64,000 when I got it three years ago. But it's paid for... I used to think it was just adorable, but my boyfriend just got a new truck (I had to laugh when I read all those guys talking about theirs!) and now I'm kinda wanting something newer.

Bro2B 06-27-2001 02:03 AM

I drive a black '95 Toyota Supra (Special Edition-Limited). I like it. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

If anyone has seen "The Fast and the Furious" the orange car at the end is a hooked up '94 Toyota Supra, with targa top like mine.

alphachiohmy 06-27-2001 09:47 AM

I have a hunter green 2001 Saturn SC1 with the essentials CD player and sunroof for summer roadtrips, but I also have a huge car payment. What I wouldn't give to have my oold car still alive. It was a 93 Pontiac Grand Am, red. Nothing spectacular but it drove great until it died - the engine blew -in January. So, I was out the $5,000 I paid for it two years ago - all the money I had to my name.

I did get $300 for it from a scrap yard, but that is not as much as my monthly payment. Sad story, huh!

Miami1839 09-22-2001 03:44 PM

I just got a Black 99 Ford Explorer Sport. Its got very nice interior, stereo in the front/back, heater in the front/back, fog lamps, and GoodYear Tires on it. Its really nice.

I have a 96 Dodge Stratus that I can't wait to get rid!! hopefully, it will last until March. Then, my mechanic is considering buying it.

As for replacement, I want a Toyoyta Highlander, Nissan Maxima/Altima, Saturn L Series (or maybe the new SUV) or.... depends on our budget cause my hubby will need a new/used car to replace his 92 Honda Civic..but hey, he just got a motorcycle!;)

LexiKD 09-23-2001 01:15 AM

96 Explorer Sport
Green, what other color is there?

Would love a new car, but will have to wait to marry rich and/or no house payment, whichever comes first.

IowaHawkeye 09-23-2001 10:10 AM

My parents just bought me a new car about a month ago - 2002 Jeep Liberty. It's silver, 4 wheel drive, cd/tape player, sunroof - i'm basically obsessed with my car :D

DPhiE205 09-23-2001 10:27 AM

I drive a 1997 2-door red Chevrolet Cavalier.

I love my car!

My daily driver is an Anthracite Grey, V-8 powered 1985 Mercedes Benz 380SE, that I've driven since the first week of 1999.

My parents' rationale: "We aren't having you own a little tinny sport coupe that folds up like a beer can in an accident."

For once, I have to agree with them. It's a great car. A 16-year old Mercedes in excellent condition gets far more attention from just about anyone than a new model of just about any other make. :D

And, it's a blast to drive, fast, very smooth, very luxurious, handles very well.

KillarneyRose 09-23-2001 06:11 PM

Yesterday we picked up my new 2001 Mercedes ML 430 (their version of the SUV). It's not the superduper expensive model; it's the middle of the road one but I absolutely LOVE it so far! It's the first vehicle I've ever owned that had a CD player so the kids and I were jamming back and forth from the mall today :)

Yes, it's a mom-mobile but, hey, that's where I am right now! I swear though, I WILL get that BMW 325 convertible before I die, Dammit!!!

spinner 09-23-2001 07:47 PM

I'll probably be a European car owner for life. American cars, while fine, are still domestic cars ( I kind of dig the Lincoln LS though), and most Japanese cars are a little bland for my taste (I'd LOVE a silver or black Lexus IS 300 with a couple of subs in the back...yeah, I'm a guy if you can't tell :D ).

European cars have the right amount of style, exclusivity, sporting appeal and general overall feeling of substance that pushes my buttons. After I get rid of "my" Benz, I'm probably going to get a newer, smaller Benz or maybe a 5-series Bimmer from the early 90's...with a manual transmission, of course.

SparkliiQTMTSU 09-24-2001 01:18 AM

I have a 97 Infiniti I30! I absolutly love it! It's such a great car. It's a deep burgundy color but I think Im going to paint it b/c theres like two other people in my town with the same car and I want to be different!! But I love my car. It's my baby!:)

Jeff OTMG 09-24-2001 10:55 AM

Fortunately the thread specified 'vehicles' so what I drive most while in Texas is one of 4 motorcycles. I have a truck, '82 Jeep Cherokee with over 200,000 miles and about ready for another engine (I will never get rid of my truck), but I also have an Infiniti Q45. I will be getting rid of it soon as quick as I find something else. BMW 740IL maybe? I am not really a big car guy, I had a Mits 3000 GT VR4 before the Q, but needed the bigger car to carry my mothers wheelchair. Viper for me someday. Unfortunately I have a rental while I am on island and I have a lovely  Daewoo Lanos. Don't ask, I have never seen one before either.

SigkapAlumWSU 09-24-2001 04:15 PM

I have a 1990 red Ford Festiva. Yes, it's small, but can fit my 6'4 bro and his 3 friends in it with head room to spare, gets 42 mpg, has been down to Baja and back, and gets me the 300 miles each way across the state to visit my honey every other weekend.
My mom gave it to me two years ago on the condition that if I ever wanted to sell it, I had to give it back to her first! (she's been looking for another one ever since!)

Dejajeva 09-24-2001 04:27 PM

My car...

I drive a 98 Dodge Stratus- fully loaded. It's a deep plum/purplish color. It's soooooooo pretty!

It has great gas milage and amazing pickup, too.

:)

SigmaChiCard 09-25-2001 02:41 PM

My car is fairly nice, despite the image you're about to have of it.

I've got a '96 Toyota Tercel, but I prefer to drive my little brother's (in the fraternity) car....a 2001 BMW M5 with more features than my home has (honestly!). But of course I don't get to drive that too much, and he's about to sell it cause he wants a Range Rover

dzrose93 09-25-2001 02:44 PM

I just sold my '94 Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe and got a white 1996 Honda Accord. :)

queequek 10-01-2001 12:19 AM

Z3, but I prefer something older fashion now ... any ideas?

damasa 10-01-2001 12:49 AM

well..now I drive a 97 neon sport...bah....
I'm looking to get within a few years....either
a 93 mazda RX-7
a new mazda RX-8 when that bad boy comes out OMG!
Older model around 93 toyota Supra..but I hear they are going to start manufacturing it again in 2003..yes.........................

until then..I'll settle for the ricer....beat every civic it's come up against...and that's all that matters...

1985 Porsche 924--what a pain to maintain!! Talk about a $$ pit--but I love it anyway. :p

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 07:45 AM

AlphaGam1019 10-01-2001 02:45 PM

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 02:49 PM

The dirt covers up all the boo-boos on the car. =P

AlphaGam1019 10-01-2001 02:58 PM

the dirt makes it look more beat up. yuck. we shall swing your car by the car wash today.

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 03:02 PM

TechADPI 10-01-2001 04:05 PM

I drive a '92 Ford Explorer, Forest Green with Tan leather interior, and moon roof. It did have a 10 disc CD player but it broke, and it costs too much to fix it. It would be more than buying a brand new one all together, so untill I stop spending and start saving, all I have is good old lubbock radio. I love my car, but in a few years(hopefully I will have saved enough money to pay for it), I plan on getting a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Red, with Grey cloth interior, sun roof and a Cd player.:) They are soo cute!

Tom Earp 10-01-2001 05:05 PM

Thank goodness dzrose, you finally got smart and bought a GOOD CAR HONDA!!!!!

Oh by the way they do not float, voice of experience!!!

Had 2 VW BUGs and never tried to drown them but ADS said they would!

Change the OIL every 3,000 miles at least more if do not drive very far!

aephi alum 10-01-2001 10:20 PM

I drive a '92 Acura Vigor. It's the only car I've ever heard of with a 5-cylinder engine. It was my mom's car - I learned to drive in it (OK, I learned in driver's ed cars, but the first "real" car I drove was this one - and it even survived :D ) and I love it! Unfortunately it's getting a little elderly, and may have to be put out to pasture in the not too distant future. :(

My husband and I also own a '99 Buick Regal. This car has such power - it has the same engine as the larger Park Avenue and Le Sabre. Drop a feather on the gas pedal and it *goes*. (Y'know, kind of like that scene in Spaceballs where they go to "ludicrous speed" :) ) My husband and I argued back and forth between that and the Saturn LS (I liked the Saturn) but we were cash poor and the Buick had 0.0% financing.

Still, when that sad day comes that I have to replace my Acura, I will buy either another Acura or the Saturn. :)

aggieAXO 10-02-2001 02:07 AM

I have a Ford Mustang convertible-the perfect car for Austin's sunny weather

TechAPhi 10-02-2001 02:39 AM

Sage green '95 Eddie Bauer-edition Ford Explorer. I love it! ;)

bucutie02 10-28-2001 06:56 PM

2000 Honda Civic EX, fully loaded :) love my car! :)

KSigkid 10-28-2001 09:31 PM

I don't have a car at the moment, but I used to have a 1987 Buick Century station wagon....go ahead and laugh, there was this high school kid, then college kid driving around in this huge powder blue car. When I had the Kappa Sig bumper sticker on it, people must have really been confused. Turns out we gave the car away to the American Lung Association, and got more from the tax write-off than we would have if we had sold it.

I got in a really bad accident senior year of high school, and a sort of bad one freshman year of college (neither of which were my fault), so the car had a back passenger side door that didn't open, a piece of plastic with black tape where the window was supposed to be, and the front end of the car was partly white instead of all powder blue. So, if you can possibly picture what a piece of garbage this car was...well, it's kinda funny.

One of my friends put a "Parking for Grandma" sticker on the back of the car, which I couldnt' get off...that added to how funny the car was.

ErikaXO 11-24-2001 10:29 PM

This is such a cool question, I missed it before.....I have a red 2001 VW Jetta VR6, which I adore, and a 2001 silver Toyota 4Runner, which I also adore. Brent drives the truck in the crappy weather because his cars are midlife crisis cars (98 Mustang GT and a 71 Vette)

I desperately want to get a well-restored old Beetle, maybe a '72 convertible. I like the SuperBeetles. I love VWs. I love my Jetta, I always wanted one, but I think next time I am going back to something bigger, maybe a Passat 4motion.

I'm with ya!!!!! I have always wanted a 325, but I don't think I'd get a convertible unless I also had a winter car. I told Brent he can get me one for our tenth anniversary if he wants!!!!! (But now that he just got me the Jetta I doubt it....maybe my 40th b-day?)

Miami1839 11-24-2001 10:59 PM

forgot if I mentioned this before but I have a black 99 ford explorer sport and I absolutely love it. If money was no object I'd love a jaguar XK8 for the summer and a Lincoln Navigator for the winter. Tracy, sounds like you have an awesome suv. I'm jealous. :D
