However, my concern lies with the NCAA's studies. The NCAA has the ability to limit the number of scholarships a school may offer in a year in any given sport based on six year graduation rates. Both within the sport and based on the school's overall student-athlete graduation rate.

"When you see Kentucky's fans, you just wonder. You think how wonderful it would be to go to their school. You wish you could trade places for a day, just so you could experience that feeling." - UCLA player Kris Johnson

Dear TSteven,

My condolences on your recent loss. Your Cats played a lovely game and they are one of our favorite March opponents.

Well, unless Tennessee wakes up they may end up being completely "Belmonted" by American within the hour.

And we have our first "upset" of the tournament. Drake just lost in OT to Western Kentucky. My bracket is officially busted!

Thanks. I am so proud of my Cats. Not only for their hard play yesterday, but for the whole season. I do find comfort in what former Marquette Coach Al McGuire said regarding Kentucky's Basketball Tradition: "They had it before you, they had it during you, they'll have it when you're gone..."

Best of luck versus Stanford tomorrow.

I love it when Marquette plays Kentucky - it's always a well-played game because the teams are pretty well matched up and it's a fun rivalry. :)

I'm sure the movie set in question was "Kiss The Girls" which was filmed in Durham and near UNC in Chapel Hill (wonder what she would've said if they offered her a Blue Devils jacket!!). Either way, the poor Wildacats are licking their wounds from being bounced out of another tournament :)

As for the Hogs of Arkansas, the only thing they have done well was stop Dook from winning the title in 1994.

1. Don't tempt fate. Ask dUKe for details.

Best quote from yesterday's tournament (and there's plenty more where this comes from!) Duke ousted, then blasted: Reserve Cam Thoroughman asked if Duke guard Greg Paulus was one of the eight McDonald's All-Americans. When told yes, Thoroughman said: "Are you kidding?"

Hence the nickname "PSYCHO T"! BTW, This isn't Tyler's first SI cover. He was the "cover boy" on the Nov. 2006 issue (see below), and he was on the cover of last month's SI for Kids magazine. Not to mention two Sporting News covers, as he is their pick for player of the year, too. :)

Freeze to death, huh? Well, babe, you didn't look too cold in this calendar. In fact, you looked the opposite:

http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/sports...udd_051107.jpg

Note how they list her as an "alumnus" when at the time she didn't even graduate! It wasn't untill 2007 that she got her BA in French. We Pirates don't go around calling Sandra Bullock an alumnus just so East Carolina can have "street cred". Shameless.

Alumnus (and the various forms) is correctly used to refer to someone who has attended the school - regardless if they have graduated or not.

So yeah, the Cool Cats got it right.

Benzgirl 04-05-2008 12:07 PM

Tsteven is correct.

With appropriate regards to pirate, because I know your pain all too well (can you say Georgetown 1984?)

YEAH! Not only did UNC go DOWN, I just won a bracket pool!

I am so VERY PROUD! And, what I find so interesting is how NOW some sports writers want to change their tune. MEMPHIS has continued to play AS A TEAM through all of this continued hatred. But, as we all know...the best revenge is proving those haters wrong. One by one...MEMPHIS is doing just that. People can hate all they want, but they are hating us right to the National Championship.

Kansas...please come with your A game and be ready to RUN. You all lucked up an caught UNC slipping but please believe MEMPHIS is not concerned with the prestige of the name on your jersey or the PAST success of your program. If you are going to win, you WILL have to WORK for it now, and that includes stopping more that just Rose or CDR b/c the bench is deep enough for another to step up...and they will.

UNC's problem last nite was that throughout the tournament, they have been playing teams that couldn't challenge them anymore if they played with their eyes closed. Then they played Kansas and couldn't react--NOBODY expected Kansas to win. How in the world do you come back within 5 points and still end up getting beat by 18 pts? So, this should be a lesson that during March...EVERYONE is BEATABLE by ANYBODY! Ask Duke....
