How cool with your birthday being on Earth Day http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I havent been to Camp Pendleton since I was born. I lived in California mostly when I was little. We lived around that area and in Treaure Island in San Francisco which has been closed the last few years due to the military base closings. Thats awesome your parents live in Okinawa now. I lose my insurance under my parents at 22 (in june http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif ) even though i will still be a full time student but then again they both work for the federal gov't so maybe thats it( I refuse to make any snide comments on that situation) |

It's not true for everyone. I know some people who were able to stay on their parent's insurance until they turned 25. However, in the military (my father is a marine) you are only covered after 18 if you are a student and at 23 you are cut off whether you're a student or not. It was hard at first, but then you get over it. I have insurance through my job now and it's really not so bad. I have a better understanding as to the way things work. So, don't worry too much. When I was a sophomore in high school I attended the HOBY youth leadership conference and I met three other girls born on August 4, 1979...and all of us were born at the same hospital...so we were all little newborns in the nursery at the same time!!! My friend (who was born February 26, 1971) had a big blowout for our birthdays. Now that the celebrating is over, I feel kinda let down. I think of 30 as a chance to start over, but I'm still a little weirded out, like there's so much I didn't do in my twenties. For those of you who have passed this point, how did you feel when you turned 30? So many people have told me that 30 wasn't a good year for them. |

Hey, to all of you worried about turning 30 - could I just tell you there are worse things in the world than THAT!! Don't mean to burst your bubble or bring anyone down here, but I can think of plenty of people who did not even get the CHANCE to make it to 30 on this planet - so let's please keep it all in perspective!
