They stopped airing the show on CanWest-Global (the station that produces the show) back in August. I haven't heard if there will even be a second season. I hope there is because I really enjoy this show, but I haven't heard anything about it since early August.

I'm not surprised this show might not be continued. I mean, in the first season, they've covered EVERYTHING: sorority rush, suicide, going crazy, crazy adoption story, alcoholism, drug dealing, controlling boyfriend, cheating boyfriend, cheating with professor... what did I leave out? Oh yeah, pregnancy. <yawn!>

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the show... but srsly... there's not much left to do.

I am devastated to report that The Best Years will not be returning. :(

On a Charity Shea (Samantha Best) fan site, she wrote to the webmaster and said:

"I was destroyed because we were picked up for 8 more [episodes]. but a new top executive decided to change things up and TBY was dropped. I believe, the N is reaching out to a younger audience now. The fans have been so supportive in protesting, but a lot of people are completely unaware and expecting the show to return this summer. I was going to write you, however I was distracted trying to figure this all out."

I just heard the show was canceled too.. but check out my previous msg in this thread dated 10-23. I called it months ago.

This sucks. The show was really really good. I don't even get the station but would watch it online. :mad: There is so much crap on TV and this was a show with so much going for it.

OMG! GUESS WHAT?! I heard that we should be expecting season 2 soon! Internet complaining does work!

Six months later, I also can verify (from a connection at The N) that it's definitely coming back next year.

I have been wondering about when it would be back on FOREVER. Please keep me updated as to when it will begin airing and if it'll be available online as I do not receive "The N".

Next year as in 2010, or as in now, 2009? I love that the mom/benefactress was also Justin's mom on Queer as Folk, and there are random Degrassi cameos.

I didn't really like the show, but I'm glad it's making a comeback for some reason. I think we tend to remember things more fondly once they're gone. ;)
