If I were them, I might change the name, though -- it could be construed to relate to either other organizations or themselves.

Still, it's hard for me to believe a dog would/could do this.

I think their name comes off rather clearly, it says so in the header on the page. They want it to shock you.

If you take the time to read it.

It's one of those sites that if you're familiar with it, it's a great resource. I doubt Google News collects their articles. They're probably not concerned that people, or other news sites, will misconstrue them.

Honestly, I'd never heard of them before, I understood exactly what they were about, I think it's a catchy name, and I'll be going back for more :) I suspect I'm the audience they're looking for, not Joe Schmoe who doesn't know much about the internet.

BUMP

Has there been any more updates on this story? Especially, how is the child?

Story updates

Two Updates for those interested:

We interviewed the SPCA Exec Director who said he is keeping the dog safe.

And new article went up yesterday in a local paper.

This is the first report where the media expressed doubts. See http://www.lockportjournal.com/local...199144245.html

I have a hard time believing this went down as reported.

I'm also having a hard time believing that this didn't happen in Florida.

Why Florida?

RU OX Alum 07-20-2007 12:34 PM

that's horrible that someone would blame the dog for something like this, how sick

Because all of the weirdos move here. It's a lot more pleasant to be a car thief of a pedophile where it's warm and sunny, than being stuck in 12 inches of snow in the winter.

I know this is a terrible story, and I am sorry for bumping it. I was wondering if there has been any more news about how the child is doing in this case?

Drolefille 08-01-2007 12:20 PM

This one's more about the pit bull I don't think this story was posted yet.
This one from July 18th

The child is last listed as being in the Women and Children's hospital.
The mother supposedly shut up the house and is not returning.
But no real updates. It's either been over shadowed by Vick or there hasn't been anything new. Nothing shows up in the local papers.

UPDATE!

DNA tests done on the child in this case are now back. The DNA results show no human involvement in the dog's attack on the toddler.

I wonder if maybe something besides the dog assaulted this child. I didn't notice if there was evidence of dog DNA in the attack. Either way, this is a sad story.

Actually it HAS happened. It's just not that likely.
