3. I have monster size feet, okay? I need something comfortable, rather than making my feet look like stuffed sausage.

The only reason I posted the thread was in the instance that someone else, might be interested in the same kinds of styles, and I wanted to give the link.

There is absolutely no reason to be catty, ugly, and rude. It IS all about me, and what I'm comfortable with. So you guys have differing opinions. Okay, you've said your piece. Fine, whatever. I'm still trying to figure out why it was necessary to personally attack me, because I have different tastes than the rest of you. Okay, so you dont like them, you wouldnt wear them, big effen deal. Again, is that a reason to attack me? Because omfg my fashion style is different than the rest of you? Please....

1. You can wear heels. There is nothing stopping you. You choose not too.

2. Other, classier options have been given. You searched high and low and this is the best thing you could find? Someone's hot glue gun and bedazzled disaster using $7 worth of Walmart materials?

3. If you buy shoes that fit you they won't look like stuff sausages. Other options, such as ballet flats, have been given. So what if you have big feet? There are tons of shopping options on the internet.

You posted something suggesting other brides wear these, too. No one has personally attacked you. We disagreed with you and voiced an opinion that the shoes were hideous and that you got ripped off. You posted something- if you didn't want opinions on it, then you shouldn't have posted.

And TWO, if I had tried to do them myself, from lame@$$ walmart, where I refuse to shop because it's TRASH, they would have looked like trash. So yes, I paid $50 for a pair of shoes because I could and I felt like it.

And whitegirl shoes with blue ribbon strings isn't trashy? I would wear something from Walmart any day.

Ok, so you paid $50 for a pair of Keds, which you'll never wear again.

Good choice.

Ummm... I don't think they're even real Ked's. The $5 Walmart version of Keds, maybe. My mom wears those shoes to do yardwork in.

:eek: OH NOES!!! They can't be from Walmart...amanda would NEVER wear anything trashy from Walmart.

Actually, you can tell from the stripes on the footboard that they're not Walmart (I worked in Walmart shoe dept in High school)...Kmart maybe. Or Target. Either way, I'm about 90% sure the shoes themselves came from a box store. I just meant "Keds" like we call tissues "Kleenex" and black markers "Sharpies"...even if they're Puffs or Marks-A-Lot.:)

ETA: If you look at the designer's website, she actually favors "City Sneaks", aka Payless.

My friends wedding I was in, we all wore black heels, but two of us switched to flip flops for the reception.

A sisters wedding I went to, she actually had her bridesmaids go barefoot for the ceremony (which I actually felt bad for them because it was outdoors, in March (which it can still be chilly in March in AZ) and they were walking on concrete, which keeps in the cold or the heat). She wore flip flops (the rocket dog type). The only reason I knew she had flip flops on was her dress was to long and she actually had to lift it to walk down the aisle (I'm suprised she didn't get it hemmed).

When I get married, I've debated flip flops, I've seen the ones I like in a bridal magazine.

I figure it's my day and I might as well be comfortable. I love wearing heels but they KILL my feet within 30 minutes to an hour.

I love these Vera Wang shoes, but there is NO WAY I can justify $395 for a pair of shoes.

In my big gay wedding, we're either both wearing black tuxes OR we're gonna wear white linen on the beach, barefoot.

See -- simple! :)

LOL..... don't worry, finding a "Yes, dear" type of husband is high priority over here ;)

AlphaGamDiva 07-14-2007 05:38 PM

my something blue was my shoes. i knew i wanted ones that had an ankle strap b/c my dad and i danced to "mack the knife" and were somewhat choreographed, so i didn't want my shoes flying off. plus, b/c my dress was all lace and we didn't want to mess with the hem, they had to be 3 inches high. fun....but they weren't that bad. my ceremony was only 15 minutes and we were too crazed at the reception to notice any pain, so....i dyed them to match the blue of my bridesmaid's dresses. i thought it was cute!

Not even $5. Wal-Mart carries their "Dollar Dazzlers" (seriously, that's what's on the box) for a buck. When we went on a chapter trip hiking to see the new lava flows on the Big Island, those shoes melted on my chapter sister's feet.

I was so NOT trying to wear heels all night

Those were the flops I wore at my wedding! I loved them! They were easy to move in and comfy!

fantASTic 07-27-2008 09:27 PM

My older sister got really beautiful white ballet flats. They were AMAZING! Super cute, very comfortable for her and looked nice underneath the dress. She also did not have to change at the reception!

They were actual wedding shoes, not Target shoes - I think she got them from David's Bridal?

I wore these^
My bridesmaids wore their own choice of silver shoes

I bought everyone flip flops for the reception, white for me and silver for my bridesmaids.

Some "dream" wedding shoes from Neiman Marcus:

BabyPiNK_FL 07-30-2008 07:24 PM

^^^I love the Louboutin's! *sigh* You have inspired me to go all out and purchase a nice designer pair for my big day (which has to happen eventually) They're right up my alley, although I'd prefer a closed toe (as peep toes you tend to slide forward). I am not afraid of a heel. If I can club in them I 'spose I can get married in them. :D

Jill1228 07-31-2008 12:19 AM

I love these from Jimmy Choo

ZTABullwinkle 07-31-2008 01:47 AM

Am I the only person who can't wear heels over 2 inches? I had the hardest time finding something for my wedding that wasn't flat, casual or stiletto heels. I am waiting for shoes to arrive tomorrow from Endless.com that I hope will work. I literally have been to more than 15 stores looking for shoes.

Scully 07-31-2008 05:02 PM

I was married almost two years ago - but I wore these Steve Madden heels all day - in silver. Although I did bring a pair of flip flops just in case I needed to get out of them!

ZTABullwinkle 08-07-2008 11:13 AM

So, I finally found shoes while in Georgia. My mom "dragged" me into David's Bridal, where they were. Here they are:

http://img.davidsbridal.com/db/f08_d...ei=460&cvt=jpg

They are taller that I would normally wear, but I did okay walking in them. I obviously plan on losing them for the reception.

KSUViolet06 08-07-2008 08:20 PM

I have to post these in here, there was an article in a magazine about how badly area brides want these (but MB can't make them fast enough):

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...00199cat000209

Manolo Blahnik "Something Blue" of course.

Those are gorgeous but the cost more than my wedding dress! It is nice to dream.

Glitter650 08-09-2008 02:06 AM

GORGEOUS blue shoes ! Too bad my wedding date is before the estimated ship date and that they are waaaayyyyy more than I should pay for shoes... but HELLLO LUVH !

Xidelt 08-13-2008 09:09 PM

i wonder if there will be a "designer-inspired" knockoff of the MB shoes soon in David's Bridal....

that's a cute idea of wearing blues shoes as your "something blue"...

WCsweet<3 09-19-2008 06:00 PM

My wedding shoes will either be my "something borrowed" or "something old" as I will be wearing my mom's wedding heels!

Granted, my wedding won't be for years.

I hear ya, $945 for a pair of shoes is outrageous. BUT I found a bride on my Wedding By Color blog that is getting them as her bridal gift from her hubby to be to wear that day. And they've been married for 2 years already actually (military reasons). I was like, nuh uh!!! I love those shoes, don't get me wrong, but I can thing of way better things to spend $1k on!!!

ETA: Give me the DB knock-off's when they come out please :D

DreamfulSpirit 09-21-2008 08:37 PM

Thought they looked familiar...they look very similar to the shoes in the Sex and the City movie.

If I was getting married I'd get them, and then wear them on my anniversary every year. Unlike the rest of the bridal outfit, that could easily be worn and not look too out of place.

They're more than similar - they ARE the shoes from the movie ;) Same design, hence the larger than normal price tag for Manolos...

I know most of the people in this thread have already gone through their big day, but a friend told me about these today and I immediately thought of you guys!

Cole Haan is designing shoes using Nike Air so that they're more comfortable! Granted, they're quite expensive ($200+) but they're pretty cute, and if they're comfy? Love it.

When my uncle got married two years ago, his wife wore these shoes. They looked really good on her, and she said that they were pretty comfortable. I was totally inspired to get the silver ones (from that Sex in the City episode!) after seeing those.

My friend wore those too. You just can't go wrong.

I got my wedding shoes from David's, but they were on sale and were the perfect color for my dress (light goldish colour). Peep toe, little rhinestone buckle. They were awesome. Annnnd now I've got to sell them/ give them away. Any big feet people need some shoes?

I made it as long as I could with the "proper" shoes on...then I caved and put on my 3 year old chuck taylors :)
