Let's face it - NOTHING is going to top the flaming chicken!

cuteASAbug 06-20-2007 02:57 PM

yes, we're just awesome like that :)

Okay so these aren't flaming chickens- BUT- For those of you with ladybug mascots, I thought these cake tins were really cute (and would make a great preference food item).

cuteASAbug 06-20-2007 04:08 PM

Awwww. That's adorable. Where are they from?

Sorry - they are from Williams-Sonoma. They are part of a pan with ladybugs, fireflies, and butterflies, but I'm sure you could get away with only putting bater in the bug mold of your choice.

cuteASAbug 06-20-2007 04:33 PM

From the looks of the picture, you should be able to.

sherbertlemons 06-20-2007 05:01 PM

They also have sailboat and teddy bear cookie cutters.

i just stumbled upon this thread..and i was hungry..so after reading about this flaming chicken so much i decided it was time to get dinner. so what did get from the drive thru???

screamin chicken strips (from checkers mmm)..the distant cousin of the flaming chicken.

alum 06-20-2007 08:57 PM

I was at a Kappa alumnae function the other night and one of my sisters mentioned Tiffany pendants. Apparently there is both an anchor (the woman's daughter is a DG) and a key. I took a peek and decided if only the tulip design was sideways it would resemble an arrow...

SWTXBelle 06-20-2007 10:27 PM

EATING flaming chickens????

So, now we are discussing EATING mascots???LOL

ErinIsBadNews 06-21-2007 12:02 AM

I don’t know how many of y’all bake, but Wilton sells a bunch of really cute things. I’ve been decorating cakes since high school and they’re the only brand I will use. I love my lion and ladybug pans. They are always a huge hit with my sisters.

I know they have…
Lions
Ladybugs
Angels (cookie cutters)
Teddy Bears
Sailboats (cookie cutters)
Pandas
Crowns
Turtles
Palm Tree
Giraffe
Penguin
Elephants
Dove

There’s also idea for other things besides cakes, there is a really adorable pesto penguin spread thing… lol. You’ll have to search for it. I didn’t want to this post to just be a bunch of links. :p

Uh, yea flaming chicken makes me think of drunken chicken bar-b-q. Mmm.

AlexMack 06-21-2007 12:58 AM

Am I the only one who thinks the flaming chicken isn't funny?

Ok thank you for posting this. I thought I was.

kathykd2005 06-21-2007 08:58 AM

It's not particularly funny, per se, just makes me hungry. :D

Aw, they discontinued the elephant, and it was really cute :(

SWTXBelle 06-21-2007 01:54 PM

Elephant cake pan discontinued

That's why God created e-bay!

Woo..at least there's no goat in the house!;)

They have a stand up squirrel but there is NO way I'm trying this, although it is tres cute!
Nutty Guy

Our cute stand-up squirrel makes this classic heart cake stand out. We added a bushy cookie tail to the Mini Stand-Up Bear cake to create an irresistible combination.

Giraffe pillow!

Honestly, Anthropologie should start paying me a commission! I'd accept payment in the form of merchandise credit! :D

Ole Miss Phi Mu 06-24-2007 10:09 AM

A group of girls got with Vinyard Vines and are having the totes made with Phi Mu's letters on them. If you want to order one, go to facebook and join the group Phi Mu Vinyard Vines Totes.

MSKKG 06-24-2007 04:51 PM

A group of Kappas somewhere else did that and extended the offer to us here. They are just the cutest bags! They have fleur-de-lis material (dark blue background, light blue fleurs-de-lis) for the band at the top. Mine doesn't have letters, so I'm not sure if they just got the plain bags originally or if getting letters was an option that I chose not to do.

SWTXBelle 06-24-2007 05:48 PM

Vineyard Vines totes

The sailboat print would be cute for Tri-Sigma!

I have that bag also sans letters. I bought it at one of our Province meetings. In this case the Johns Hopkins chapter organized the sale.

I saw a mockup of an even cuter design that one of our KY chapters commissioned but never saw it in actuality. It had cross-hatched gold keys with light blue fleur-de-lis between the latticework. http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/b...sburytote1.jpg

Both Pi Phi and ADPi undergrads are trying to generate enough interest through their respective global Facebook groups to also place an order.

MSKKG 06-24-2007 09:19 PM

Well, that is just the cutest bag for Kappas! Is it for sale, or was it made especially for someone?

Maybe someone from the Johns Hopkins chapter was the one who handled our bag order--it has been a while, so I can't remember (that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! :p).

alum 06-24-2007 09:32 PM

Apparently the Centre College Kappas commissioned it a couple of years ago. My co-worker's bio sister was an alum from that chapter and had one. Unfortunately they never did a re-order (I asked :) ).

URichmond KKGs also did the JHU design. Perhaps the Centre College design was too expensive to replicate easily since it involved more colors?

If the university's bookstore is licensed to carry Vineyard Vines, the chapters on that campus cannot order the bags wholesale. This is a problem that URichmond ran into. The first time they placed an order, the bookstore was not an official VV vendor so they could get the bags at wholesale + shipping with a minimum order of 100. Apparently after URichmond KKG got a new pledge class, the new girls wanted to order the bags but because the university bookstore was now a vendor, it wasn't allowed. Johns Hopkins isn't quite as preppy so the university hasn't bothered with VV licensing. VV makes URichmond-specific designs as well as for other colleges, universities and prep schools.

Well, if I told you that, I'd have to kill you.

SWTXBelle 06-28-2007 04:52 PM

Look, you Sigma Kappas get all that cool chocolate ( AND ice cream now) - and the creamy soap. You can't have dove-flavoured chips, too!

cuteASAbug 06-28-2007 04:55 PM

Nothing beats ASA- Phoenix, Arizona. :D

Drolefille 06-28-2007 05:04 PM

Well Phoenix IS well known, but SK has (besides soap, chocolate and ice cream):
The Dove Tree
A guitar
Three different Rivers
A crater on the moon
A constellation
And a Britsh band called Doves plus a Silent Film called The Dove

WIN! Makes up for the girly colours. Not that I hate our colours. It's just that as a tomboyish sort of gal, I'd prefer less girly colours.

twinkle555 07-11-2007 09:26 PM
