Are y'all still watching the show? I'm so proud of Walter!
|
I saw the commercial for this show last night on ABC.
Fat March Sort of like The Biggest Loser but they walk from Boston to DC and compete for $1million. |
I'm still watching!
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at how well Walter is doing. I thought he would be the bump on the log holding the group back. (Did you see him cheesing when he took the picture with the Miami dancers ;))? I'm beyond frustrated with the lil boy that IS holding them back (forgot his name). His mother really doesn't seem to get that this is serious. With his fathers recent weight loss you would think HE of all the kids would be on the ball. Instead he half arses his way through the workouts...and whine when anyone says anthing to him. I would have put him out already (or asked his dad to come sit and watch him so they could see what was going on). Nothing upsets me more than wasted potential. I wish the show overall was getting more attention and created more dialogue. This is SO much more important that Spice Posh or Lindsey's daily trek form rehab to Starbucks :o. Shaq is trying so I give him big props for trying to address this! |

James is the one who when told to run 20 laps looked like he was doing 0.001 on the treadmill, always whining, but is a gifted student. Indeed! I want to see more of the kids and less of the bureaucracy portions. I love this show and am glad that Shaq did it!:D |
I'm still watching also. I like the group dynamics. I'm glad Tarik and James had their wrestling match. They both seemed to enjoy it. Walter and Ariel are my favorites.
|
I'm finally caught up. (DVR is GREAT!!)
I wonder if James "really" hit the 20 lb mark..just a thought. Anywho the kids are doing great and I really enjoy watching the show. I too like the way SOME parents are actually helping out (mainly the Cuban family) by packing healthy lunches and seeming to be receptive to the changes in their meal. What I would like to see is all of the families join in. I guess this is about the kids though. |
Last night's ep was my favorite so far. To see those kids really begin to embrace the program, bring others with them, and want to continue was heartwarming! I hope Shaq continues and others embrace the challenge.
|
More than a couple of times last night Walter had me tearing up. He has really grown the most through this. One week he can barely walk a few months later he's barking orders and encouraging other kids!
However Chris parents are no joke - but they could stand to jump on the stairmaster themselves for a few minutes. All of you don't have to stand there and watch him work out - work out WITH him. I hope after next weeks show they do a real life update so we can see how they are doing now. |
:eek::eek::eek:OMG!!!!!!! Chris looks AMAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!!!:D:D:D
James, you had an extra 4 months and lost just 5 more pounds?http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sp...smiley-034.gif You too, Kit. GOOOOOOOOOO WALTER!!!!! :D |
I actually had time to watch this for the first time last night and was moved on so many levels. Kudos to Shaq for pioneering change in the state of Florida. I was so proud of those youth -- you could just see their boosted self esteem flourish in their demeanor. This was a show that was actually worth being on primetime television.
|
Chris did look amazing. He looked like a completely different person.
|
Anyone watching Fat March tonight on ABC?
|
I've become hooked on this show in its repeats on the Style channel so I look forward to the new season.

I love this show too so I'll definitely be watching.
Tomorrow they're showing The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? Here's a quick excerpt from the same article: On Tuesday, September 4 at 8PM ET/PT, NBC will air a one-hour The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? special that will give viewers an opportunity to see the progress -- or lack thereof -- that some of the show's previous contestants have made. |
I can't wait for the new season to start, and I can't wait to see the where are they now ep. I saw something on Eric who was last seasons winner who lost over 200 lbs and that he is still doing quite well. He had some cosmetic surgery to get rid of loose skin, and he looked really good. I hope they show that guy Matt who who won season 2, because when he and Suzie who was on thta sanme season and who got engaged to each other showed up for season 3 it was obvious thta Matt has gained some weight back which he admitted.
I want to see Pete the black guy from season 2 and Dr. Jeff from season 2. ETA: Dang, the where are they now ep is coming on the same time as Lincoln Heights ....damn, damn, damn ETA: I just checked out that Lincoln Heights is coming on at 8pm and again at 9pm. I hope the 9pm ep is a rerun of the 8pm ep, because The Biggesgt Loser ep is coming on at 9pm |

I stopped watching and am watching Fat March. I try not to judge people for getting 300+ lbs but one of those guys that got voted off last week (Will?) was so unhealthy that I don't know if it was laziness or his health that impeded the progress. The trainers were asking them to do a helluva lot of walking (hence "Fat March) but the team was able to pull most of it off. |

I was happy to see Anthony voted off last night but ICK at him and Jami Lynn. |

ICK is right. |
Biggest Loser: Did They Keep The Weight Off was great. It was good to see how well they kept the weight off. It was also interesting how they starting teaching health and fitness courses to others that struggled with weight. I couldn't believe the first biggest loser had gained that much weight. Hopefully he'll get it back off.
Next seasn's is going to be GOOD! I will watch it. |

Marty and Amy ~ you were married on the show to another woman when y'all hooked up similar to Anthony and Jami Lynn on Fat March so forgive me if I didn't swoon over your proposal. I am looking forward to BL4. They're already casting for BL5 which appears to be teams of two (siblings, spouses, etc.) |

I didn't know Marty and Amy were already married. Not good. The black male music teacher touched me (I believe he was 29). I just wanted to cry when I saw his testimonial. This is definitely going to be a good season. |

Did you all watch TBL last week? I know I'm a little late, but I thought the first episode was really good (a little more Hollywood than normal). I like the fact that they have three teams this time and believe that the weight loss is going to be phenomenal this time.

I know! It seems like he was most fit so far since he outran everybody else in the initial challenge. Then he lost 31lbs -- those results were astounding. |

Speaking of "did they keep their weight off" shows:
Did anyone see the MTV Made update of the people who were getting weight loss surgery and stuff. The black dude got his surgery when he graduated from high school and lost like 200lbs. He looks great and was giving commentary during his old episode. Drastic change in personality and in his body. |

Per The Biggest Loser, you have to do 8,000 jumping jacks to burn off a pint of chocolate ice cream. That probably means to burn off a pint of Phish Food, I have to do 18,000.
I am working out while watching The Biggest Loser. Black team on the screen = walk in place Red team = jog Blue team = kick team challenge = squats |

I love the little nutritional facts as well. Thanks Kim for making the turkey meat burritos. I'm going to try those this weekend. :D
|
I only watched the weigh in so you all are going to have to update me on the nutritional facts and what not. I'm so proud of Bryan. I'm a fan of his.
From what I saw, it was a good episode. The red team is dwindling down pretty quick here. |
Y'all know I love, love TBL....but for the love of all that is holy can the men please stop taking off thier shirts...I'm saying they won't play in you gaining weight...I'm saying please stop....
I was straight tripping when Jerry (the old guy) won the foot race, and he only lost to Phil doing the stair challenge by seconds. I think he should have lead off, and not have been the anchor. I think this is the first season where they have a whole lot of very big people. It's strange to me when I see a large Asian person because you rarely see it. I was really surprised when Lezleye got voted off the red team. I really didn't see thta coming at all. The first person voted off on the red team I think it wa Amber I was glad she got voted off because she just wanted to give up from jump. I just knew amy was going to get voted off on the 2nd show because I'm saying how you gone walk out on your last chance workout. Both Amber and Lezleye looked good when they showed them after they got voted off. I must say amber being an EMT is not what's up being that big. I'm saying how she gone take care of you if you are having a heart attack when she was a walking heart attack waiting to happen. Did anyone see Kim's face when the black team was weighing in.....her face was like damn that crazy azz Jillian is back, and as you can see Jillian is off the chain and gthat working out in the dessert really worked. The only thing I don't like about the show thus far is that it's on for 2 hours and this put a cramp in my being able to watch Lincoln Heights when it comes on. |
