OMG Yes! I love this movie! I didn't know that was Vesta singing.

Steel Magnolias (the graveyard scene gets me every time!!!!)
Varsity Blues (I don't know why... but I feel so good for Billy Bob scoring that touchdown)

There are so many others... sometimes you just get so caught up in everything before you know it you're just bawling......

KatieKate1244 03-19-2007 09:02 PM

October Sky
We Are Marshall
The Pursuit of Happyness
Click (So not the funny movie I thought it would be!)
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Friday Night Lights
Rent

Tne ending of Grease also makes me slightly teary-eyed.

Sister Havana 03-19-2007 09:19 PM

I also cried at the end of Deconstructing Harry.

Amen! I won't even let my students read dog stories in class where the dog dies cause I bawl!

My Girl (no choice)
Walk to Remember (only cause I saw it the first time the day of my grandmother's funeral and it reminds me of her)
Beaches
Steel Magnolias
RENT (I cried when I saw it on stage too, I just weep for Mark ending up alone but happy because of his friends)

yeah so I admit it.... I am a wuss... and proud of it!

AOII_LB93 03-20-2007 12:19 AM

Life is beautiful....every damn time I've seen it.
The Eighth Day
Ponette
Saving Private Ryan (the first time I saw it was right after it came out and I had just returned from Normandy and the American cemetary.)

I know there are other movies I cry at, but those get me.

PeppyGPhiB 03-20-2007 01:08 AM

Rudy.

Rudy...Rudy...Rudy...Rudy! After he makes that sack for the last play of the game, his family embraces and his brother says something about "that's the one!" and the players hoist him up on their shoulders. I blame the music.

christiangirl 03-20-2007 01:44 AM

Dreamgirls. I don't cry at movies. I'll cry at a song. And I cried like an ugly little girl at "And I Am Telling You" "Listen" and the "Finale." Just couldn't help it.

smiley21 03-20-2007 08:07 AM

I think it was because I was really jealous at the time, but I remember crying at the end of "Pretty Woman". I wanted it to happen to me!! lol

Still BLUTANG 03-20-2007 12:29 PM

Diamond Darlin’ 03-20-2007 01:38 PM

Oh yeah! I definitely cried during Castaway, espcially when he lost Wilson.

LPIDelta 03-20-2007 02:54 PM

I'm with kdonline--I cry at a lot of things. But I always cry during Say Anything when Diane (Ione Skye) is visiting her dad (John Mahoney) in prison.

And Steel Magnolias---that one is a killer too. I am trying to convince my friends to have "blush and bashful" as their colors at their commitment ceremony...

WVU alpha phi 03-20-2007 04:10 PM

I was pretty much hysterical the first time I saw The Notebook in the theatre. I also cry at The Lion King (it just gets me to me when Mufassa dies and Simba crawls underneath his paw) and the Homeward Bound movies.

The Fox and the Hound (its just sad to see friends split up)
Passion of the Christ
Tears in the Sun
The Guardian
The Notebook

Okay, except for horror/slasher & those super silly films.

I hear you Annie...I am totally the same way!! One of the biggest genre that's makes me totally weep is Sports Themed movies......

Rudy, Friday Night Lights, Remember the Titans, We Are Marshall, Hardball, Miracle, Million Dollar Baby, Invincible, The Natural, Field of Dreams, etc. The list goes on and on!! I don't know why, it is just something about the build up of the sporting event and if they win or lose.

naturalrose 03-20-2007 06:18 PM

The notebook
Benji
And for some strange reason.. Crank lol

I saw that movie too. I think we just dated ourselves.:p

Ditto on these.

My List:
Ice Age
Joy Luck Club--gets me every time
1. When the mom leaves the twins @ the tree (I can feel the knife going though my heart)
2. @ the end when the sisters meet. "Mei Mei..."
Simon Birch (just saw it the other day)

Hope Floats --I really hate to see children cry. When Bernice runs after her dad to go live with him and he tells her no.
Color Purple--too many to mention but I will say the ending.
Ghost
Antwone Fisher
Soul Food
Come See the Paradise (Dennis Quaid)

I know I have more but this is all I can think of off the top of my head

AGDee 03-20-2007 09:58 PM

I thought of another.. although it's very old and I"m dating myself here. Sophie's Choice

I read that in 10th grade....I never knew there was a movie

Hmmm....if I'd known that, maybe I would've actually made it to the end and found out what happened when Hilde finished the book....can you PM it to me???

ziasha07 03-21-2007 08:19 PM

Personally I cry sometimes, a little more often than nessecary. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Roll Bounce made me cry.

risingstar 03-21-2007 10:00 PM

I would have to say The Persuit of Happyness...The trials he went through and on top of that, take care of his son...amazing individual. I cry every time. I'm scared to go buy the dvd, I know I'll cry but I won't be able to stop watching it.

A guy took me to see that for a date....I don't cry at movies, so when HE cried, that was almost it for us. I'm all for a strong black man being able to show vulnerability, but all I could think was "If you don't suck that up...":(

AlexMack 03-22-2007 12:59 AM

Okay this isn't a movie, but I've seen the episode of ER when Dr Greene dies like 5 times now and everytime I bawl my eyes out.

I don't know if the book and the movie end in the same way... But yes, it was a movie with Meryl Streep and I believe it won a ton of Oscars. Rent it!

I always cry at the Designing Women episode where Reva from Guiding Light is Charlene's cousin and runs away from her abusive husband. Yipe, I have chills just thinking about it.

I know I said I don't cry at films, but there were two exceptions: The last episode of Boy Meets World and the last epidsode of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Something about families and friends splitting up, possibly forever...When I see these episodes rerun, all I can think about is how many people I've had to say good-bye to!! Gets me everytime (especially now--graduation time;) ).

The only Sophie's Choice I know of is the novel by William Styron. (Also here at the Wiki.) That's the book that the Meryl Streep movie is based on.

Ooooooh, I got it, I was talking about Sophie's World. Sorry! ;)

Tom Earp 03-22-2007 03:44 PM

Top Gun!

Especially when Goose dies!:o

Only seen it dozens of times!

Soft of heart!

oceanphi01 03-22-2007 10:48 PM

Okay, so a bunch of these have already been listed, but I am a huge sap and will cry at pretty much anything...

-Beaches (I love this movie and always cry at the end)
-Steel Magnolias
-City of Angels (no matter what, I bawl like a baby)
-My Life (I am such a sap I bought this movie because it's that good)
-Titanic
-The Notebook
-In Her Shoes (my sister & I are that close)
-Star Trek: Nemesis (yes, I am a nerd, but only the Star Trek fans may get this one)
-A Walk to Remember
-The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (when she goes to the dad's wedding)

As well as probably most Disney movies ever made. Like I said, I'm a big sap.

:)

OMG I cried at the last BMW episode.

Also we bought Blood Diamond today and I'm making my parents watch it. I already warned my mother that it's extremely emotional and I know I will cry again.
Oh, remembered another one-I cried during LOTR-Fellowship when Gandalf fell.

The dog doesn't even have to die for me to cry! No one has mentioned Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. That movie can get me started crying so hard I'm worthless for a good 10 minutes after it's over. When Chance and Sassy have reunited with the younger kids... and Peter says, "He [Shadow] was too old..." And we don't know whether Shadow made it or not, but then he comes limping over the hill. Wahhhhhh!!!!! I'll truly sob during this scene.

The original version of The Incredible Journey is about 394385793485394875 times better than the OMG That Dog Sounds Like Michael J Fox version. :) It makes me cry too.
