That poor baby girl. :(
She seemed a bit off to me, especially during her TV show, but she seemed to lose the will to live after her son died, IMO.

Just sad all around for everyone.

I feel bad because her life was so tragic and now there's a 5 month old with no mommy...:( :( God bless that baby...

Ditto! I wonder what the cause of her death. She was young, and it makes you think about the importance of living life to its fullest!

RedefinedDiva 02-08-2007 09:56 PM

I INSTANTLY thought of suicide. May not be true, but....

I was totally shocked and caught off guard by this. I feel sorry for the baby. :(

jitterbug13 02-08-2007 11:11 PM

^^^^
When I first heard it, I was thinking foul play. Rumor has it she was very close on finally getting that big pay day.

I feel bad for babyperson Dannilynn. :(

MeezDiscreet 02-09-2007 01:37 AM

did they ever figure out who the child's father is?

Honeykiss1974 02-09-2007 05:36 AM

That poor baby. :(

If she did die from some type of drug overdose, i don't think it was on purpose. She was dealing with A LOT of major stress right now - the death of her son, probably going through postpartum depression, and dealing with 2 ongoing lawsuits (one concerning the paternity of her baby and the other one dealing with the estate of her late husband). She may have just over medicated herself in trying to cope with everything.

She is also a co-defendant in a (class action) lawsuit against TrimSpa.

Nope. They just had a paternity hearing yesterday ordering Anna Nicole to submit the baby for paternity testing by February 21. It's so sad and tragic. I really hope that woman didn't kill herself. I do believe that woman could take all she could handle with life. I feel so sorry for Dannilynn. Anna Nicole...there will never be another one like her. RIP.

All looked great -- to me, the standout was Alek Wek in Ellen Tracy. I heart ET, have worn it since 1987, but never something as fab as that dress.

Surprisingly, I loved Soror Phylicia's dress the most. I thought she looked beautiful in it.

Am I the only one kinda  about the whole Anna Nicole thing in the media? Day before yesterday they all had not one good thing to say about the woman and what a trainwreck she was. THey mocked her relentlessly, as did most folks (think back- you can't tell me you never said something about what a dip the woman was).

Now all of a sudden, it's like everyone is so shocked and appalled by her death. I mean, come on! I'm not saying it's not a shame that she died, I'm just saying that we all saw this one coming. Instead of taking her clear drug dependency issues seriously, she was televised and ridiculed. I don't get all the "grief" over her passing in the news, I really don't.

OOhsoflyDELTA#9 02-09-2007 07:53 PM

^^^^^^co-sign^^^^^^^^

I think the media was brutal with her and now they are all up her a$$ so to speak....I think it was obvious that she was fragile and if this was intentional they most likely played a role in her feeling that she had no other opinions...I even heard that the media has been saying that her son was the child's father   ...you can't even speculate about something like that unless you know it 100%...more times then not the media can go way to far

SummerChild 02-09-2007 08:08 PM

HC all of these men are coming out and saying that they might be the father? They are saying that it could be up to *20* men that could be the father. HC when I leave this earth, I hope people won't drag my reputation through the mud and make me seem like a common whore. My goodness! This is shocking! 20 men? W/in what has to biologically be just a limited period of time??? What the hayle? They need to just let that woman RIP.

However, I guess I understand that there is alot of money at stake. But my goodness. It's awful for them to give so much press and so expressly talking about how many men it could be and interviewing the men. It's like a crazy circus.

RedefinedDiva 02-09-2007 11:58 PM

I'm not surprised. She helped to put her reputation out there like that. I would never say that her son was her child's father, but I am certain that Stern is not. If the other dude wasn't and there was NO possibility, she would have been rushing to have Dannilynn tested so that she could crack ol' boy's face! Now, Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband is stepping up for his slice of the pie.

I was shocked and caught off guard by her death because I was JUST talking about her being sued for that TrimSpa mess. Next day or two, she was dead. I was shocked because my mind went to suicide. Next, I figured that the TrimSpa killed her. Those damn diet pills aren't safe. I found it ironic, being a law student, that she was being sued and would have to defend against something that killed her before her day in court. Wish I was on the case so I could get a cut of the settlement.... Also, by the end of the night, my Soror/schoolmate and I were trying to hatch a scheme to open succession and get in on the $400M still hanging out there. OK, enough of thinking like a lawyer.

I just feel sorry for the baby. Of course none of us know Anna Nicole personally, but when you live fast, you die young. We all know that she's been powdering her nose for a long time. Even her son was a druggie. It's just messed up that the baby has lost her (damn near) entire immediate family before she has even begun to live.

Coroner: Gerald Levert Died From Combination Of Medications

POSTED: 4:33 pm EST February 9, 2007

<http://www.newsnet5.com/news/10975021/detail.html>

CLEVELAND -- The Geauga County coroner said Friday that local R&B star
Gerald Levert's death was a result of a terrible accident.

The coroner confirmed to NewsChannel5 that Levert's death was caused by a
combination of over-the-counter and prescription drugs.

Levert's death has now officially been ruled an accident. In a seven-page
report released to NewsChannel5, the coroner said that a deadly mixture of
drugs was found in his system.

The coroner said the drugs included powerful painkillers such as Vicodin and
Percocet, and the antidepressants Valium and Xanax were also present in his
bloodstream.

Coroner Kevin Chartran said that Levert was also suffering from pneumonia at
the time of his death in November, which was why Levert was also taking
antihistamines.

Chartran said the combination of six different drugs proved to be fatal.

"It's not clear when these were taken. We're not sure if they were taken all
at once or over the course of a day. But the levels were high enough and
there was acute intoxication, which likely stopped him from breathing,"
Chartran said.

The autopsy was conducted by the Cuyahoga County coroner's office, but
because Levert died at his Geauga County home it was up to the Geauga County
coroner to issue the report.

Levert was 40 years old.

Levert's family released the following statement regarding the coroner's
report:

"Gerald had several health issues including recovering from a severed
Achilles tendon and lingering shoulder pain, among other things, that
required him to take prescribed pain medications. We had no idea that this
would be the cause of his death. Unfortunately, we can't turn back the hands
of time, for if we could, he may still be with us today. We accept what has
been reported and thank all of Gerald's family, friends and fans for their
continual outpouring of love for our loss."

Heck, since everyone is saying that they are the father, I was going to hold my own press conference and add my two cents. I feel sorry for the baby and everyone involved because that baby gets that $400 million and I truly believe that nowone has the baby's interest at heart. It's just a crazy now. Then for Za Za Gabor's (sp?) husband to come out and say he may be the father with his old self. I could not believe it. Now, when Bob Barker calls a press conference and announces that he may be the father, I'm calling Maury to get this stuff together....what is taking so long for the DNA test?

UpPinkies 02-11-2007 11:39 PM

I just heard on the news that Anna may have frozen her late husband's sperm and the baby's father may be her late husband's.

I'm finished, this is too much.

Little32 02-12-2007 01:16 AM

I was reading this earlier and wondering what MD would prescribe all of those medications together.

Since when was vicodin and percecet over the counter?

I doubt that they were prescribed together. He may have had a bunch of meds sitting around from various other times and was popping pills without waiting for a requisite amount of time to pass before taking something else.

I know that I'm guilty of it. Of course not with anything as potent as those pills, but I know that I've popped lots of aspirin to rid myself of a headache. When it doesn't work as fast as I would hope, I may pop more pills of the same or another brand just to make my head stop from banging, whether the 4 or 6 (or however many) hours have passed. I think I'm scared straight now.

The article states that he had a combination of those prescribed meds, as well as over-the-counter meds.

AKA2D '91 02-12-2007 10:49 AM

The over the counter drugs were for his pneumonia.

Jacci Reid reported this morning on TJMS that he had an achilles tendon (sp) injury and was prescribed the Vicoden, Percocet, and another painkiller starting with a "D". He had surgery last year or so and suffered with chronic pain from that and his shoulder. So, as long as he had pain, he got perscriptions from doctor(s). Then, as his body depended on the drugs and got accustomed to them, the dosage had to be increased. She said, per her interview with a doctor, that all of those medications lead to his nervous system shutting down, thus causing him to stop breathing.

I'm guilty of popping tylenol sinus, anydrug sinus, alka seltzer cold plus, and drug that will give me relieve when I have colds. I will pay more attention to what I "pop" or sip for now on.

It's thought that this same thing may have happened to ANS.

I can't think of any average-sized/curvy/thick leading ladies, up-front stars that are white. You have white larger celebrities, but they are generally character actresses (Kathy Bates, Camryn Manheim, Marisa Jaret Winokur) or comedic performers with poor style reps (Rosie O'Donnell, Roseanne Barr, Kirstie Alley). Liv Tyler and Kate Winslet don't count.

Jennifer Hudson among other black stars (Derek Luke, Djimon Honsou, Forrest Whitaker, Chris Rock, and Kerry Washington) are in Vanity Fair's latest Hollywood issue. This is issue they decided to create a film noir and ever celebrity is apart of the cast. Photography by Annie Lebowitz. I think this is a cool ideal instead of the usual let's get celebs together and take photos. Here is a link to the video but the full 33-page spread is in the March issue of Vanity Fair.
