JENRY BEJERANO (NY) -- why you only 16? DAMN! Damn damn damn!
|

As for the 2 best friends - sorry best friend 1, but best friend 2 is by far the better singer... and how about not putting BF2 in an awkward position by making her repeat to you what the judges said - as if you really want to know! Psycho girl with the red cowboy hat needs medication - NOW - someone should have called the loony bin for a pick up - she was seriously scaring me at the end. I was waiting for her to pull a "Carrie" or something. |

It was soooo very wrong of me to laugh at Simon's "bush baby" comment. But I did. |

Um, Paula? You do realize that he was born right around the time you "peaked" at your "singing" career, right? |
Is anyone else sick of all the really bad contestants getting so much media coverage? The guy Simon called a bush baby and his "friend" were both on the Today show last week. And then a bunch of the folks from this week (Ian Benardo, that girl Sarah who thought the American Idol didn't need to be a singer, etc) were on the DC local news and LARRY KING!!!
I really can't understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of the judges' comments this year. It's the sixth season folks. The judges are (understandably) tired of people who absolutely can't sing and who show up in ridiculous costumes (Spacesuit man, I'm talking to you.) |
Or idiot that showed up dressed like Apollo Creed from Rocky. WTF is wrong with these people?

One of the reasons why the two guys from Seattle got on the Today show was because one of them turned out to be a Special Olympics athlete. The niece of my best friend also knows him. Really nice, making fun of a kid with disabilities. I'm really surprised American Idol didn't get more criticism for that...it just shows that they need to be more sensitive to some of the people that come through that door. I'm sure they can tell the people who have real emotional/mental issues from the ones who just want their 15 minutes.

The Special Olympics folks have made a formal statement about it.. from this article
http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blo..._idol_c_2.html According to the official Special Olympics press release, “While polite isn’t a word one would normally associate with Cowell and company, a viewing of the episode in question shows that the judges were in fact gracious and very encouraging to Jayne during his rendition of "God Bless America." At one point, Abdul commented admiringly about Jayne’s spirit and advised him to "Always believe in yourself."” The press release went on to state, “Whether on the stage of American Idol or on the field of competition for Special Olympics, people with intellectual disabilities don’t want to be pitied. They want to be judged for who they are and appreciated for what they can achieve. American Idol should be commended for providing Jayne with the same opportunity to succeed as any other contestant.” |

The first thing Simon said to him when he came in the door was, "Have you borrowed Randy's trousers?" commenting about his weight. I just think that's a terribly rude thing to say to some one, especially someone you've never even met or spoken with.
As for "pity" for people with disabilities, I'm well aware of the issues. I won't get into what I've experienced as a Special Olympics volunteer or around my aunt who was a paraplegic most of her life. I was not suggesting pity, I was suggesting some *decency* be shown to people who clearly have been encouraged by people who were probably well-intentioned to try out and "go for it." We love to tell people in this country that anything is possible, and a number of those people at the AI auditions probably would not be there if they hadn't been told by people that care about them that they were good singers, just because they didn't want to hurt their feelings. Also, all of the people we see on the TV have been passed on to the second round by producers who've already heard them...don't you think that gives some of them even more false hope? Their info./applications are also passed on to the judges, so the producers and judges are aware of their situation/issues/trivia, etc. Of course I'm only talking about the people who seem to have...issues...not people who are just cocky and obnoxious and know they can't sing. |
I dont understand why Paula is mean to some people, but then other times she chastises Simon for being mean.
|
The girl with the insane hair and her insane-haired mother? From Gainesville, FL. Alachua County Residents!
(UF students know exactly what I'm talking about.) |
I LOVED Simon at the end. He was cracking me up.
I saw on my TiVo that next Wednesday's show is "Best of Idol Auditions 2007." Maybe we'll actually get to see the good ones! No one really stood out tonight aside from the looneys. I must've missed it, where was Paula on day 2? |
They said Paula was attending "a family matter" or something like that back in California and therefore was unavailable for Day 2 of the Birmingham auditions.
|
I like the Jack Osbourne looking guy. He's funny and he has a nice voice.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in the Hollywood round. |

The last chick tonight, for instance, Brandy-oh god, why do people encourage that? "people say I can sing." It makes me wonder if they've actually heard her. |

Courtney Love is potentially replacing Paula???? http://www.usmagazine.com/courtney_love_1 So, basically, they're replacing one cracked-out lunatic for another.

I just wanted to let you all know that Brandon Rogers will be the next Mr. AXO Alum - not only did he sing one of my favorite songs of all times (Always on My Mind) but he has an incredible voice (and being easy on the eyes doesn't hurt)
|
I want to adopt Sherman as my grandfather. He was ADORABLE. I loved that Simon asked to shake his hand.

Someone please tell me that I did not just see a mother hold up a sign for her daughter that said, "Jasmine's are next American Idol".....

I am not sure. The daughter was wearing a white top and looked really sad. She got mad because they were laughing at her. She was going on and on about how they shouldn't be negative because they dont know her. And about the sign, that is what it said. I just did not want to believe it. lol |
Then, they said that Simon should go back to British, where he came from?
WHAT? Yes. I was embarrassed. :o :o |

Ok, that "wrong door" stunt is getting pretty tired.

I am still looking for the video of that real energetic thick black chick who KILLED "Dancing in the Streets" then decided to impress them with "Dreaming of You" and totally bombing that...yeah REAL BAD MOVE! |
Anyone notice Robyn Troup on the show tonight? She is the same girl who got to sing with Justin at the Grammy's.
|
Does anyone know if Fox puts the AI episodes online after they are? I missed tonight's episode. I thought the DVR was recording it but I later learned that it wasn't because my fiance set up the DVR to record his crappy TV shows. He is now in the doghouse.

http://media.thelot.com/idol/photos/...ease/17951.jpgThis girl Antonella(sp) looks awfully familiar. Was she on Sweet 16 on MTV?
|
I'm so glad that the best friend blond girl got cut. I think her name was Amanda. What a raging bitch! I can't believe that she thought the girl Bailey got cut b/c God helps good people.
Alas, I was a little sad to see that the sister of the young guy get cut. I liked him a lot better than her but to see him cry for his sister was kinda sad. ETA: I saw that the guy that looked like Jesus got cut too. |
Quote:
Right, they said her name and I thought it sounded familiar. Did she make it on to the next round? |
Quote:
No, she got cut. Little did she know, she was going to get a bigger break in her future! :) |
