Danny & Oswald are the BEST! During their original season they got completely stressed and went shopping to relax. They bought some perfume and then got right back into the game. :) I wish the Clowns were on this season. They were always good for a laugh. :D |

It's hard when you don't have the Cho Brothers to help you, hun? :p
When did the cousins get some courage? Next week looks interesting... :D |
One down, one to go... let's hope next week is Schmarla & Schmirna's time to go! I was ROLLING with Danny (or Oswald) said "Charla's going to be in love" when he saw the little person at the pit stop.

I totally thought the Guidos hit Charla when they backed into the fence. Oops.

I thought Meerna and Schmeerna got run over by the Guidos as well. I was disappointed when I found out that wasn't the case.
I wonder what next week's twist will be? At this rate, Rob and Amber and virtually unstoppable. The only viable candidates that can probably beat them are Uchenna and Joyce, and that's only because U&J beat R&A by a nosehair during their season. |

SPOILER!!!
Many websites (including TWoP and tvch) are reporting that Rob and Amber make a VERY early exit from the race. Also, Charla and Mirna make it to the top 3. |
NO!!! Tell me you are wrong!

Mirna is batshit crazy, but I find her entertaining. Rob, on the other hand, should just go far far away and never be heard from again.
|
Ive missed the last two weeks of this show, but will catch it again..this is the BEST REALITY SHOW EVER!! I WOULD LOVE TO BE ON IT, just need to find me a partner!
|
I'm the first one to post on this???!!!
OH MY GOD:eek:
Rob, you really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That's the only explation I can come up with about tonight. I guess that's what you and Amber get for lying to the cousins. And other GCs, don't forget about the show on Fox Reality! The way Mirna was talking about Chara in the beginning:   Uncenna and Joyce are trully good sports. :D From the letter the BQs got, Bama still come across as whiners. I guess it is anybody's game now... |

I hope she was getting kicked in the knees by Schmarla as they were sitting at home watching tonight! Bleh - I feel sick - they need to go away... now. I am off to cheer for Oswald & Danny. I can't bear to look up the results online (and I am too nosey to resist reading spoilers, so no posting them - I can't help myself) :p |

But didn't I say a week ago: Quote:
They really ran a bad leg. And did anybody record the show and pause over the letter from Patrick and Susan (who lost partially because they spent to much time worrying about Rob and Amber and not enough focusing on their own race)? They basically said they would love to slow Romber down a bit with their letter -- that they'd love to help them lose. So they were going to ask Romber to read a few words. "No, they won't be simple words like Neanderthal, spoon-fed or over-exposed. They're going to be words like antidisestablishmentarianism and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." I couldn't stop laughing. Still, I enjoyed watching Rob and Amber race. Schmirna is one of the most annoying racers ever. |
I liked Rob and Amber because they made everybody uncomfortable. They were good competitiors -- they didn't need the million dollars! They were there to compete!
The BQs don't seem too annoying this time around, IMO/ *crosses fingers for Team CHA CHA CHA* I can only imagine what kind of performance they'll have if they step on the mat first in the end. |
I'm loving CHA CHA CHA even more:

When did Phill drop "12 hour" from the mandatory rest period? Can anyone remember if any of the recent seasons made the distinction?
My dad works with Joyce's brother and he told my dad that the rest periods are usually three to four days! I'm curious if that's only for the All Star season or if they snuck that in a while ago. |
I hate my DVR! It will not recognize that a show started late, and therefore, I only got 10 MINUTES of the show on DVR!! (Which was about 10 minutes longer than I could stand looking at Schmirna & Schmarla... INCLUDING the opening credits)!
So what happened... and who is Phill? Sorry - I'm slow :o |

Phil is the host. Mirna and Schmirna suck and won this leg of the race. Did anyone else hear Schmirna say "what did we win???" when they arrived at the mat or did my brain make that up? |

Who got Philimated? I was driving back from Charleston and when I turned on the TV Cold Case had just started. :(
|
Teri and Ian were eliminated in tonight's leg of the race.
Was anyone else surprised at the lack of a fast-forward (or maybe they're not doing that for this season, since it's All Stars)? I was surprised by the amount of separation achieved in this leg of the race - I don't remember ever seeing this much separation (I wonder if Team Guido got in to the pit stop before the first place team left for the next leg?) |
Quote:
I hear you about the separation, but if what SoCalGirl said is true about the contestants having a 3 day rest period, then I doubt that the first place team would have left for the next leg. And I'm so slow. All this time I thought CHA CHA CHA was in a relationship. You know, two feh-lameys traipsing around the world. I didn't know that they were just best friends! |

Teams check into a location at the end of a leg or a race called a pit stop where they can eat, sleep, and mingle with the other teams. Once teams check in they have a limited amount of time, usually 12 hours, to rest before the next leg of the race. There have been exceptions to this in previous seasons, due to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Also, the FAQ section at the main CBS website says this about pit stops: What do the Teams do at a Pit Stop? During Pit Stops, the Teams primarily eat and sleep, but soon after arriving at the Pit Stop, each Team is interviewed about their experiences on the leg of the Race they just completed. That doesn't sound like a three-day thing. While it is true that Phil hasn't been referring to "a mandatory 12-hour pit-stop," he is still saying things like "Since Charla and Mirna were the first team to check in at 9:37 a.m., they will depart at 9:37 p.m." Of course, that only implies 12 hours without saying it -- I guess it could be 36 hours -- but the rules posted at the website seem to indicate is usually 12 hours. I wasn't sorry to see Ian, Teri and Ian's hat go. I wouldn't have been sorry to see Team Guido or Schmirna go either. |

However, SoCalGirl mentioned that her father works with Joyce's brother. I wouldn't be surprised if Joyce's brother is more accurate than the CBS site. When you take into consideration the number of teams and that filming takes about a month, it seems more realistic that the rest period takes more than 12 hours. Maybe not 3 days, but definitely more than 12 hours. |

The All-Stars season filmed from November 20 - December 17, 2006. That's 27 days, which seems to be consistent with recent seasons. Each race has about 12 legs, at least recently. One 12-hour pit stop after 11 legs of a 12-leg race eats up 5 1/2 days, which would bring the time actually spent racing down to 21 1/2 days. That's an average of less than 2 days per leg, which seems likely to be accurate given that while some legs involve just driving to different areas in one country, others involve flights, nights spent waiting for a venue to open, and the like. Shoot, last night's episode covered 2 1/2 days alone. |

It seems likely that, like the CBS Web site says, on some days there was an extra day or so. Like in the cases of bad weather, world events, other unforeseen circumstances. But I just don't think the show would do multiple days after each pit stop. If you watch Phil's travelogues, you'll hear that sometimes he barely makes it out in front of teams. If they had extra time, i would think Phil would be at the next destination far in advance. i also just don't think the network would waste the extra time/labor/money that extra days would add to the race, just to give the racers sightseeing ops.
Oh, and I'm glad Teri and Ian are gone, too. They were annoying me, especially Ian. I got tired of him telling Teri to hurry up, just so he could wait in line. |
