The problems reportedly included cutting classes, walking out of classes at whim, failing to turn in assigned work, talking disrespectfully to teachers, etc. The principal was the mother of one of the girls and it appears that she stopped or changed disciplinary actions taken against the girls.

Another major issue was when the girls went to a store in the area called "Condoms to Go" (There are several locations in the Dallas area.) The girls went in their cheerleading outfits and posed in sexually suggestive ways. The cheerleading sponser tried to suspend them for this (wearing the school cheerleading uniform while doing this) and the principal refused to allow the suspensions. Most schools tell all their athletes and cheerleaders this: When you are in a school uniform, you are representing us. Do not act up. Sort of like the GLOs telling our members the same when they have on letters or are at functions.

Oh okay. Well, yeah, then detetion for everyone, that was like the only punishment there was suspension = kids at home/on their own with way too much freetime and parents didn't like that....detention. Should be brought back.

I still don't think that makes them that bad, not bad enough to be called terrorists anyway, Tom, for gods' sakes.

And also, maybe I am just having a slow time with this, but why is this in the news??

Goes like this: 5 girls are holy terrors, a coach tries to punish them and ends up quitting after the principal (also one of the girl's mothers) doesn't back her up. The coach quits (because she can't do her job if the girls aren't made to behave) and goes to the media. Someone studies the issue and turns up all of the misbehaviors of the girls AND the principal. Principal resigns and settles a lawsuit.

It's news just about as much as the high school hazing is. As in "LOOK AT KIDS THESE DAYS"

FYI - Tom did not call them 'terrorists'. That was how it was worded on the AOL story. I agree that they shouldn't be called terrorists. I'm thinking spoiled, self-indulgent brats with parents who need to grow a pair.

Detentions, suspensions for the squad: All of these were tried but the parents, including the principal/mother on one, balked at any punishment for the little angels.

Well, I'm sorry Tom, I thought that was you since you made the thread.:o

Still though........cutting class does not make you a terrorist, cutting some one's head off because they are different religion than you makes you a terrorist.

wow

Pretty typical considering it is McKinney North. Full of trash, abercrombied gel heads, and fake blonde sluts. Those cheerleaders are hideous by the way.

And what is your reference? From that district?

If so, are all of the schools the same?

Well, in this case, I agree that the cheerleaders' behavior was hideous and that the parents may be trash.

Macallen, I know that you love to mix it up with attention getting posts, but you should probably keep in mind that everyone can't be old south or old Texas. Maybe more of a "bless their hearts; they're from the suburbs" would make you seem like a more generous person. It really means the same thing.

I didn't think they were pretty either.

It was a given that it was only a matter of time before Lifetime did a movie: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...e.15fbaaf.html

Tatum O'Neal plays the principal/mom of the ringleader and the movie premieres in early August. Lifetime's already running the promos.

I know the ringleader went to SFASU (thanks to Facebook). Does anyone know if she or the other terrorists joined sororities?

SWTXBelle 07-24-2008 08:25 PM

Hmmm . . .unusual name. Bet the GC super sleuths will have us an answer soon.

I was reading on another message board that the others went to Oklahoma, A&M, Ole Miss, MTSU, and Arkansas (there were more than 5, I think). According to various articles, the girls' high school shenanigans did follow them to college, so one can only wonder if they rushed or if their reps affected their rush.

I imagine that the "Fab Five" continue to be hounded by the media (and nosy people like me), especially since their drama's being brought back to life by Lifetime! Karrissa's MySpace headline reads "Leave me alone!"

PM_Mama00 07-25-2008 12:13 AM

Where did you find her myspace?

I'd love to know if they did rush, and what happened.

catiebug 08-02-2008 06:48 PM

I went to SFASU, but all my sorority contacts have since moved away. The ones I have there in Administration probably won't tell me anything, citing privacy issues...

texas*princess 08-02-2008 07:12 PM

does it really matter if they are Greek or not? Or if they went through rush and didn't get bids?

I mean, even girls in that Chicago high school "powder puff" hazing group went through rush and got bids if I recall correctly.

Well, I fell asleep during the movie. What happened to the blonde girl who kept saying she was going to be a Song Girl at USC?

PM_Mama00 02-01-2009 12:02 AM

Fab Five is on Lifetime. I just watched it and they're airing it back to back. It just started.

Yeah, except The Plastics are funnier. I have seen Fab Five, and I want to b-slap those brats. They are horrible. And I want to slap the parents, too.

What happened to the real "Emma Carr"? I was hoping that she would file a lawsuit against the school and the school system for wrongful termination, if she was fired.
