As for Rev. Kelly, as I recall he lost a son to gang violence some years ago which started his anti-gang campaign. He's a pretty street savvy guy. |

I have to get to work, and so don't have time to check all of the links, or find the one I have in mind, but there was a pretty chilling article in The Rocky the other day about another very similar situation at a local club involving a number of now former Broncos. Fortunately, no shots ended up being fired.
There also was an article a few days ago about whether professional athletes should have body guards. Pretty scary stuff. |
There was a thing on one of the local news channels yesterday about how Nuggets players Julius Hodge (now with the Bucks) and Reggie Evans applied for permits to carry concealed weapons. The news guy was interviewing them at practice, and neither one of them wanted to talk about it. Reggie was pretty funny -- first he said he was just focused on the game. Then the guy kept pressing the issue and Reggie was like hey, Tim Duncan is coming and you have to do anything that you can to get ready for him, like bring out the bazookas and stuff. Then the guy was like, oh, you don't want to talk about this, do you, and Reggie said EXACTLY.
I'm sure if I were Julius Hodge, I'd be all over carrying a weapon -- I wonder what Reggie's deal is. I hate guns, but I can't say I blame him, you know? This is a crappy city for athlete safety. |

Drove by the crime scene for the first time since the shooting yesterday.
Strange. |
The autopsy results were released yesterday. According to local news, Williams had no drugs in his system, was not legally drunk, and was killed by a single gunshot wound.
