1. Live my life for ME and STOP thinking about what my family will think/say/do. 2. Take better care of myself: Renew Godly relationship, drink water, exercise. 3. Cultivate better relationships with friends and family, including Grad Chapter. 4. Change grad school programs. I'm not happy anymore and haven't been for a long time. Change is scary but fear is nothing but the Devil. 5. Get these finances under control: pay off car and pay down credit card. |
tld: I will be applying to grad school as well. Scared to DEATH to take the GRE. :( Will be buying the book GRE for Dummies on FRIDAY.[/QUOTE]
I'll be praying for you!!! Good Luck!!! |

I like this topic. For me: 1. To start losing this weight I gained in undergrad and improve my health. 2. To grow closer to the Lord and to learn to accept everything he does in my life. He has opened and He has closed different doors and its hard to accept that and I pray I'll continue to learn to just accept all He does unconditionally because He does things the way He does for the best. |

I don't like to call them 'resolutions', just my goals for 2007 and beyond:
1. TITHE consistently in finances and time. 2. Get my $ together so that by fall I can make a housing investment. ( I've been advised by sooo many that I should NOT rent if my credit and finances allow me to buy.) 3. Decide on whether I'm pursuing an MBA or Masters in Communication/PR. And start working on it sooooooon. (Any advice anyone??? PM! PM!) 4. Learn to truly enjoy each day and every person I am blessed to have it...tomorrow is not promised. 5. Stop sweating the small stuff. It's not worth the headache. 6. Stop cursing. (As in none at ALL not even in quotes, songs, or anything.) 7. Stop drinking POP. (I work for Coca-Cola.... the temptation is there.) |
Oh yeah, AND decide on an Alumnae Chapter. (There are two in my city.)

Not getting arrested.
Not getting fired from work. Not getting in another car crash. Become more wise. If I do something bad, learn how to not get caught. Learn how to fight. (taking self defense course) Have good sex. Drink more alcohol, not in quantity but in variety. Making an increased effort to sow my wild oats overall...I'm not getting any younger. Oh yeah...and eat better, pray more, exercise, save money, keep a positive attitude, and become a more productive member of society. :) |

2007 is going to be a good year!
My number one goal is to move to Atlanta and open my juvenile residential treatment facility!
I have others, but that is the most important to me... |

Well I have been in Pittsburgh since Thursday 2-15-07 because my stepfather was called for his double lung transplant and I am here to tell you that all went well. Y'all he is off the ventilator, he is up out of bed, he is eating and talking, and he looks really good. All the doctors and nurses are amazed at how well that he is doing in such a short time.:D God is definitely good!! |

Thanks Carla and Gina, we are leaving out today aroud 2ish to drive back home. I can honestly say I don't miss this Pittsburgh weather at all from when I went to school here.
We are hoping that he will be moved out of ICU today before we leave, but if not then it will definitely be on Tuesday because he is doing really well. All the doctors staff and nurses are amazed at how fast he is recovering...I telll you it's determination is what it is on his part. I mean seriously yesterday he was like back to being himself before he went on the oxygen and what not last May, seriously it was just wonderful. I feel much better with my mom leaving with my brother and I to drive back home that he is doing really well. My mom will fly back on Thursday and then come back home on Monday...actually that has been their schedule since they made a temperary move to Pitsburgh on 1-21, but on he gets out of the hospital which he will be in for a month, and then goes to rehab which will be another month, my mom won't be able to come home at all. He should be coming home for good around April if all goes well. All I'm saying to everyone is if you aren't a donor, you should seriously think about becoming one. I know that we all changed our minds back last year when we found that he was going to have to have a transplant. For lungs the donor has to be the same height and weight of the patient and in his case the donor was like a perfect fit per the surgeon, it just really makes you think when it's happening to you. I mean what if this man had checked no that he wanted to donate his organs...so seriously if you aren't a donor all I'm asking you to do is think about it.:) |
