Today I got confirmation that I will speaking to the English classes at my alma mater. :eek: :D :cool:

Girl, thank my mama, lol, for all of these arrangements! She is doing it real big but I thank her because I am ready. It is my time!

And I absolutely want to come to Houston since I have never been to Texas at all.

Within the next 2 weeks, I am sending out a mass press release and some other advertising will be done as my budget allows.

Before the paying customers whose books will be mailed tomorrow get to e-mailing me about poor customer service, Soror was one of the winners of the mailing list drawing so hers was mailed on Monday sans my fancy dancy mailing labels. The paying customers will have the labels and stuh.:o :p :D

I am so digging this book. I really like the history tidbit that you give at the start of each chapter. Let me tell you how I was straight tripping when I was reading your acknowledgement, why you ask. For one I remember when you were first writing it, and you were sending chapters off to LG and Kelli, and then when I saw what you said about LG in the book, I was like....damn I know these people, and I just had a giant smile on my face is the only way that I can describe it. Seriously though, I've said it before and I am saying it again.....I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that's right I finished reading the book this past Wednesday.......yup it was freaking fantastic....Yeah Carla get to writing book 2, because Freshman Focus was the shyt......ya heard!!

Soror Carla, I just finished reading the book and I LOVED IT!! You have me wondering what will happen next, especially with Kendra and Lamar! :D My youngest sister turns 15 on the 2nd of February (and is a freshman) so I'll definitely have to get her a copy for her birthday. Congrats again and I will continue to spread the word!

In December 2006, I saw an e-mail mentioning The Divine Literary Tour which is a tour for authors who are members of the Divine 9. The Divine 9 is the nickname for the NPHC fraternities and sororities: Alpha Phi Alpha (1906), Alpha Kappa Alpha (1908), Kappa Alpha Psi (1911), Omega Psi Phi (1911), Delta Sigma Theta (1913), Phi Beta Sigma (1914), Zeta Phi Beta (1920), Sigma Gamma Rho (1922), and Iota Phi Theta (1963).

I applied in December and was accepted to be a part of The Divine Literary Tour. As authors, we travel the country promoting our books and doing community service together in the cities that we visit. We'll be on college campuses, at middle and high schools, fraternity and sorority conferences and conventions, and a host of other places.

So look for me in your city one day soon! I'll post the tour engagements that I will be at, but I encourage you to support the Divine Literary Tour as much as you can. Visit the site and meet the other authors who will be on tour. Each of us has a website that you can explore and learn more about our endeavors.
