1. Where do you/did you go to school?
---University of South Carolina
2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?---8 (Chi Omega, KD, ZTA, Tri Delt, DG, KKG, AXO, ADPi)...Don't really know the total of fraternities but the main ones are Kappa Sig, SAE, KA, Sigma Chi, ATO, DTD, Lambda Chi)
3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?---Every year we have a Halloween mixer and St. Patty's Day mixer with DDD, Kappa Sig, and Sigma Chi. We mostly have mixers with Kappa Sig, SAE, Sigma Chi, ATO and DTD.
4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!---
Our reputation is very good. We always meet quota plus some during rush, win homecoming regularly, one of the top sororities in grades, LOVE to have fun, very cute, great group of girls!

WELCOME TO GC MEGALICIOUS!!!!

It's great to always have new faces around!:D

chiomegajill 10-03-2003 10:09 AM

1. Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC
2. 5 Sororities (Us, Delta Zeta, ADPi, ZTA, and Tri-Sigma) and 3 Fraternities (Kappa Sig, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and TKE)
3. Personally, probably ZTA and ADPi, as a group, Kappa Sig and ADPi
4. At Winthrop, we are known as the "girls you marry," very well-rounded, and have been the highest in grades for the past two years.

xonikki 10-04-2003 02:25 PM

1. Where do you/did you go to school?
UW-Madison...go badgers!!!

2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?---11 sororities (ChiO, Kappa, Gamma Phi, Pi Phi, DG, AChiO, Theta, APhi, Tri Delt, AEPhi, SDT) and a lot of frats :-P

3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?---I think we hang out with a lot of different ones. For example, SAE is our partner for homecoming, Kappa Sig and Sigma Chi are our partners for humo, etc... But we have a (now) annual party with Sig Ep. As for sororities, I'm not really sure because last spring when I was a pledge, we only had one quad party with Pi Phi. I can tell you that our arch rival is AEPhi, b/c every rush, they dirty rush us because we end up getting the girls they want :-P

4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!---
We have a good reputation! We have been either at or near the top for GPA for a while, we win a lot of events, and we're known for having the most energy during rush. We are pretty diverse and down-to-earth. We still have a reputation, however, for being a Jewish sorority (I myself not being Jewish) but it's a lot better from what I heard it used to be; now we're around half-and-half I guess.

If you're interested, our greek system just made a new website this fall: http://www.uwgreek.com

Just thought this was ironic - our open motto being "Hellenic Culture and Christian Ideals"! Yay for diversity and acceptance!

1. I went to UT El Paso (Rho Delta)
2. There were 2 sororities (Us and Zeta) and I can never remember how many fraternities were there. My chapter closed about 4 years ago :(
3. We hung with the Kappa Sigs all the time
4. We had a great reputation on campus - we did a lot of volunteer stuff with different groups and were very visible.

I'm at George Mason University right now, and it's fairly similar. Instead of Phi Mu as a sorority we now have Alpha Xi Delta. We now also have Phi Kappa Theta and Phi Sigma Theta as fraternities but lost (not sure the right term for no longer having a fraternity?) the following:
Beta Theta Pi
Alpha Chi Rho
Alpha Kappa Lambda
Pi Kappa Phi
Sigma Nu
Chi Phi

I'm a new member, so I'm not sure who who associate with the most, but I know we have upcoming mixers with Kappa Sig and Theta Chi, so maybe them?

I'm told we're known as the ladies on campus, which I like. Classy, gracious, sweet, and whatnot. It seems to fit in with everything I'm learning in the new member program right now!

The frats are ATO, Kappa Sig, Sigma Phi Ep, KA, Sig Nu, Sig Chi, Phi Delt, D Chi, Pike, Phi Kappa Sig, DTD, DU
3. Our gals hang mostly with KA, Sig Chi, some DTD some Phi Delt and some Pike.
4. Our reputation is absolutely great! I think we're respected among the Greek community b/c of our accomplishments, our level of involvment, and our friendliness with other sororities.

DPK4LIFE 02-24-2004 03:37 AM

1) Hanover College

2) 4 Sororities (Chi-O, Phi Mu, ADPi, and Kappa Alpha Theta) and 5 Frats (Fiji, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delt, Sigma Chi and Beta Theta Pi)

3) We have a long tradition w/ the Lambda's here, but we're breaking away...a lot of the girls are hanging at Fiji now. We're almost equal opportunity frat supporters.

4) We have a reputation of being very active, spirited, and we have the highest GPA, but we also know how to have fun.

XOMichelle 03-09-2004 07:52 PM

1) I went to Stanford University

2) There are 5 sororities: Chi O, Tri Delta, Kappa, Pi Phi, and Theta. There are 11 fraternities: Sigma Nu, Sigma Chi, Kappa Sig, Theta Delt, KA, Phi Psi, SAE, Delts, Sig Ep, AEPi and DKE.

3) We hang with Phi Psi, Sig Ep, Sigma Nu and sometimes Sigma Chi.

4) Our rep isn't so good on campus. The girls are actively trying to change it though!

I'm currently a new member and will be initiated on April 18th:) but I thought I would answer your questions anyways.

1. I currently am a junior at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa ( Beta Delta Chapter)

2. There are 4 sororities ( Alpha Xi Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, Sigma Kappa and us) and there are 3 fraternities ( Kappa Sigma, Sigma Phi Eplison, and Delta Sigma Phi), we did have 5 fraternities, but Alpha Chi Rho and Phi Theta Phi (local fraternity) got kicked off campus. We actually just had our Greek Week this past week and we came in 2nd today at the Greek Olympics.

3. We mostly hang out with the K Sigs, actually alot of our girls are either dating a K Sig or are married/engaged to one. ONe of our sister's is a sweetheart for the Delta Sigs too. We've been hanging out with the Sigma Kappa's too.

4. Our reputation on campus is that we are the book worms even though we do have fun. I think the reason people think that is because we have the highest GPA among all Greek groups and the entire campus!!!:D We are also known to be the "losers" of Greek Week ,but that changed this year;)

muzicbaby 06-11-2004 08:29 AM

1.I currently attend the University of Central Florida in Orlando (Psi Mu).
2. A lot! :D There are 10 PAN sororities, 19 IFC fraternities, and 9 NPHC sororities and fraternities.
3. TKE and FIJI. Seems to have been a wining combination and that's who you find a lot of the girls with.
4. Well, we are pretty big with about 150 members and one of the four sororities without a house, which I think brings us closer together. I think we come across as very real to evryone. We have a very competive spirit and love having fun wherever we are regarless of what's going on and I think that shines through to everyone else. ;)

2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?
3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?
4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!

1. I went to NC State University in Raleigh, NC (Alpha Kappa Chapter).
2. 6 - ADPi, Chi O, DG, DZ, SK, ZTA. Pi Phi is colinizing in the fall!
3. When I was in school we hung out with a lot of different fraternities but a lot of sisters dated guys in PKP, SN and KS. We loved mixing with Farmhouse because they are such Southern gentlemen!
4. I think that our rep is or was scholarly or dorky because we usually got the best grades and also won Sorority of the Year a lot, but it's funny because when we mix with guys or they come to our functions or when we get to know other sorority girls they realize that not only are we smart ;) but we're also a ton of fun! :)

3. The fraternities we affiliate is usually a mix but we hang out with Sigma Chi,Phi Kap,Sigma Nu, and sometimes Pi Kapp.
4. We are seen as the nerds i guess you could say,b/c we made tops in grades in recent years. Also known as the real down to earth girls.And when we do go out, we have lots of fun and everyone around us can see that.:)

ChiOCrazy19 06-25-2004 03:10 PM

CHI-O ROCKS MY SOX!

1. I go to school at the University of Delaware (GO BLUE HENS!) and am part of the Rho Lambda Chapter.
2. There are 18 sororities on campus (12 of which are not academic/major/community service focused only sororities)
And not to take up too much space, but our major sororities are:
Chi-O, Phi Sig Sig, KD, ASA, KATheta, DG, Alpha Phi, AZD, Sigma K, and AEPhi
There are 16 fraternities (12 of which are official IFC frats) being:
ATO, SAE, KDR, SigEp, SX, Theta Chi, SAMMY, PIKA, TEP, Kappa Sig, Lambda Chi, KA
I just like knowing what schools have which frats/sorors. so I though you would too :cool:
3. We associate mostly with the AZD, Sigma Kappa, and Alpha Phi sororities and the ATO, Sigma Chi, Theta Chi, PIKA, and SigEp fraternities.
4. Snaps to the fact that our sorority is the most respected, wanted, and dreamed about girls on my campus. We are seen on my campus as the outgoing, crazy partying, good studying, and just all around down to earth girls. There are no bad nicknames for us on our campus because no one has anything bad to say about us (seriously!). We just recently did Greek Week with ATO, which is our most gorgeous and popular frat on campus. We had the largest amount of new pledges this past semester, and had almost 100% return rates to every round of recruitment. We are constantly asked to mix, and we are 2nd academically out of everyone. We also have the 2nd largest sorority on campus (we come 2nd to Gamma Sig, which is a community service sorority). I LOVE US!:D

XOMichelle 06-25-2004 05:19 PM

I guess I never posted:

1) I went to Stanford Univeristy
2) Sororities on campus were XO, Theta, Kappa, Tri-Delta, and Pi Phi.
3) We did stuff with a lot of the frats, notably Sig Ep, Phi Psi, Sigma Nu, Kappa Sig, and AEPhi (and TaXi when they were around)

I'm not going into the rep thing as I'm alum, and things change year to year. I loved Chi O as an active, and I love it as an alum too. I've been so busy with my applications and multiple jobs I haven't been able to be as involved as I would like, but I do what I can!

oncelurked 07-12-2004 06:02 PM

I am actually one of XOMichelle' pledge sisters. All the info from the previous post applies to me as well. ;)

1. Where do you/did you go to school?
--- University of Rhode Island
2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?--- 8 (plus ZTA= 9) AZD, A phi, Phi sig sig, SK, SDT, DZ, A ChiO, ChiO... There are 3 on campus frats currently ChiPhi, Phi kappa Psi, lambda chi alpha the rest are off campus and are too numerous to name

3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?--- hmmm... Sig Ep, Sig Pi, are the two frats that the gils like the most...as well as lambda

4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!---

We are a laid back group of girls, with many different interests. Alot of very tough majors (nursing, microbiology, pharmacy, etc.) as well as many others. We are on of the smaller houses but this isn't a bad thing :) because there are some houses with many girls who do not know each other's names... Chio's could pretty much give you their sister's life stories. ..hehe..

KellyO97 08-14-2004 03:19 PM

Addition to Jamie's post on URI above:

There are actually 9 NPC groups at URI.

Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Xi Delta
Alpha Phi
Chi Omega
Delta Zeta
Phi Sigma Sigma
Sigma Kappa
Sigma Delta Tau

There is a local group, ZETA, that attempted to affiliate with ZTA and has not done so at this time (we don't really have a great climate for sorority expansion on our campus, IMO). They are not recognized by Panhel and pretty much do there own thing.

Not trying to jump in and correct you Jamie--but I was like, "What happened to ADPi!!!"....

jams xo 1530 08-22-2004 04:32 PM

whooppss... i was trying to remember them all... i forget about them up in the corner of the circle lol... sorry :(

KellyO97 08-23-2004 10:32 AM

No worries! They are kind of tucked away up there, lol.....

BellaBerlee 10-12-2004 10:44 AM

ok, I know I'm a little late, but I just NOW read the "New to Chi-O, Welcome Read first" post, soooo here I'll answer them now :)

1. University of Central Florida!
2. 10 Sororities...19 frats and 7 mulitcultural/african american
3. none for MYSELF except Chi-O (I'm new to the greek thing)
4. The rep on campus is we're a great group of girls. We don't have a house, so we're not "big timers" with say some of the others, but I don't think we have a bad rep. Of course, I'm a NEW member sooooo I don't know anything, but I don't think people say bad things about us!

XOvermont 11-17-2004 02:38 AM

1. Where do you/did you go to school?
2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?
3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?
4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Univ of New Mexico, Albuquerque
2) 8 sororities (inluding multicultural and local, but 4 are PHC). 12 fraternities(?) (i'm not absolutly sure, they add more every year). despite so many chapters, we have a very small greek community, like 2-5% or so of the total student population.
3) everyone in our house has their indiviual favorites, so there's at least 3 or 4 chi-os who hanging out at each house.
4) i think our reputation is the diverse girls, diverse in friendship, personality, ethnicity, cultural... etc, you name it someone probably has those qualities or does it. but generally i think everyone in the house is a fun creative imaginative person to hang out with.
wuchiocutie 11-25-2004 02:05 AM
Ok, So I am new to greekchat and to Chi Omega...I haven't been initiated yet, but I have to say that I am so excited to become a part of this sisterhood. :) Now for the questions...
1) I am a sophomore at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Chi Lambda chapter!
2) There are 5 NPC sororities on campus: Chi Omega, Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Delta Zeta. There are 4 fraternities: Kappa Sigma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Tau Kappa Epsilon. ( I believe PKA & TKE aren't considered "active" though.)
3) We pretty much get along with the other sororities. Most of the girls hang around/date Kappa Sigmas.
4) We have the highest GPA on campus, and as such a lot of people tend to think that we constantly have our heads in the books. We definitely have a good-girl reputation, which isn't a bad thing, I don't think. However, we know how to have a good time too! Just from the short time I have been a new member I have never heard anything bad about our chapter, I think most people can see that we have a great sisterhood.
ash832 11-29-2004 03:41 AM
So, I've been looking at the boards for the past few years but just now decided to join. I am a new alumna and will be graduating in a couple of weeks. As for my schools stats, here's an update to an earlier post....
1. School I attend:
University of South Florida
2. Number of Sororities and Fraternities:
Sororities: 8 (Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Tri Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta, Sigma Delta Tau, Zeta Tau Alpha)
Fraternities: 12 (Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi, Chi Phi, Delta Chi, Kappa Sigma, Phi Delta Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu)
3. Who do we affiliate most with?
Our girls hang out with a lot of the different fraternities. But, I think we have the best connection with the Sig Eps since we share a house with them. We'll probably get a lot closer with them this Greek Week when we team up once again.
4. Our reputation?
Well, we are the girls that the guys can take home to mom. We are classy and sophisticated but not stuck up. We are the largest sorority with 97 actives and we are determined to win everything we get involved in. In the last 7 years, we have placed 1st in greek week 6 times and 3rd the other time. The past two years we have gotten 2nd place in Homecoming being 1st amongst the greeks. We've participated and won in other groups philanthropy events, Tri-deltas' Bulls-at-Bat and Sigma Chi's Derby Days just to name a couple. We're well-rounded and hold many positions through out the campus. We've even had sisters on homecoming court.
NutBrnHair 11-29-2004 10:48 AM
3 new posters in November! Welcome, Sisters!
chi-o_gurlie08 05-04-2005 07:59 PM
1) West Liberty State College (NU THETA chapter) West Virginia.
2) We have 3 sororities
Alpha Xi Delta
Chi Omega
Delta Theta Kappa
and 5 frats
Chi Nu
Kappa Delta Kappa
Beta Theta Gamma
Delta Zeta Pi
Delta Tau Chi (suspended-inactive)
3)We are the only GLO on campus that really gets along with all of the other groups. Sure, rivalries flare up during Greek Week and Homecoming, but really, we mix with everyone. The DZPs were just founded this year, but we are forming a tight relationship with them and are doing Homecoming with them next year.
4) We are seen as a very diverse group. We get along well with all groups and have had the highest GPA of all the GLOs on campus for YEARS!
