How did our founders decide who would get what executive position...

A. Drew names out of a hat.
B. Drew straws Dr. Richardson held.
C. Alphabetically

The answer is A. To select the leadership of the new sorority, the names of the officers were put in an old felt hat belonging to Jobell's father.

What chapter was our S.M initiated into, and at which chapter was she an advisor? I'll give you a hint -- my UserName is a clue for one of the answers!

**I think Chi-O trivia is so much fun!

Oh, this one I don't even know. Um...I'm gonna guess just because I don't have a clue and even the hint does not help me.
Was it Phi Chapter.

Billy Optimist 04-17-2001 01:51 AM

I was wondering if I could post a question?

What state currently has the most active chapter?

A. Washington
B. North Carolina
C. Texas
D. California
E. Tennessee

For Bonus Points:
How many active chapters does that state have?

Good Luck..

For More Bonus points:
Name the states the currently do not have any Chi Omega Chapters in them (hint there are 10)?

My answer is a guess but it's the more logical...and that is C. I know that Cali and Washington aren't full of Chi Omega chapters. And I think TN and NC are both close in amounts.
For bonus points I'm guessing Texas has approximately 14 Chapters.
For EXTRA bonus points I'm taking a stab at
1. Hawaii - I know they don't have one
2. North Dakota - I know they don't have one either
3. Rhode Island - makes sence to me
4. Alaska - I know we're to hot we'd melt them away
5. Minnesota - I'm from the midwest...I think I know the surrounding ones.
6. Nevada - although when I was there for Spring Break I could have SWORN I overheard a lady and guy talking about the sororities at their college in NV and I heard them mention Chi Omega...but I don't believe they really do have one there.
7. Idaho
8. Conneticuit
9. Maine
10. Deleware
Hope I win. This was a tricky one, but I've listed a lot of the other Chi Omega websites on my webpage so I know a few of them aren't for sure...others I'm purely guessing.

By the way, Peggy Rinehart, our S.M. was an active at Bowling Green SU in Ohio, and she was an advisor to Zeta Alpha, at Ohio STate.

bucutie02 04-26-2001 09:31 AM

I think the answer is Texas http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif But to tell you the truth- i have no clue. It just seems maybe too obvious though (maybe i've been watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire too much)- since Rush is big in the south. Although i cant think of any school here that doesnt have XO.

carnation 04-26-2001 10:24 AM

Okay, I'm messing around on GC waiting for our new couch to arrive http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif and I have a trivia question! Which Chi O founder stayed on at the University of Arkansas as an English professor and has a dorm there named after her? (Hootie and Symphony, I already told y'all so you can't guess!)

She was my aunt's academic advisor and major professor. My aunt says she was about six feet tall, always smelled of talcum powder, and was a lady in the best sense of the word!
Take a guess!

Hootie 04-30-2001 11:24 PM

Okay we have three questions with no answers. I'M GONNA GO BONKERS http://www.plaudersmilies.de/yellows/freak6.gif http://www.plaudersmilies.de/yellows/rotaeye.gif [img]http://www.plaudersmilies.de/yellows/glotz.gif IF WE DON'T GET SOME ANSWERS AROUND HERE. LOL.

The answer is D. Heidi was correct. YEAH.

Hootie 06-12-2001 04:33 PM

Ya ready for this...here we go.

To answer this question you'll have to read the Summer Eleusis. What is the annual fund goal for the Chi Omega Foundation for 2001.

A. 37,000
B. 100,000
C. 400,000
D. 1,000,000

Happy Reading and Good Luck.

Sue_XO 06-13-2001 11:38 AM

I'm going all out and guessing D!!

Wasn't that last issue great! I loved the story on the University of Illinois! When we had our anniversary- we gave a gift to the university too- it is so neat- a little "Chi Omega" plaza that you can walk across on your way to class! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hootie 06-30-2001 02:06 AM

The answer is D. 100,000.00 I think that's pretty feesable don't you all.
I'll be posting another Chi Omega Trivia Question within the next few days.

Hootie 12-10-2001 03:15 AM

I think it's time to liven up this forum a bit, so here we go.

Q. Chi Omega's National Headquarters has been in all of these states except...

A. Ohio
B. Kentucky
C. Tennessee
D. Arkansas

Good Luck and I'll post a new question within a week!!!
;)

Sue_XO 12-10-2001 11:55 AM

Glad trivia is back-

I know we have a tons of chapters in Ohio but I'll still say that Nationals has not been there. Total guess though!

xok85xo 12-10-2001 10:56 PM

wasn't headquarters in cleveland before memphis?

my guess is b- kentucky

MaryMayXO 12-11-2001 11:47 AM

I am going to have to go with Sue!! (Since she works with Nationals.....heehee!)

Sue_XO 12-11-2001 05:15 PM

May- I'm horrible at trivia! I'm only good at answers that I can look up and verify!!!

A did you know...

Did you know it is against the rules to do anything to your badge. I had my grandmother's badge made into a ring and got in a bit of trouble with our NC. They did not take it away or anything like that but I did learn a lesson :)

How come they have badge rings then? I swore I saw one on the back of the magazine once. I would think if they can mass produce badge rings they wouldn't mind you doing that with your grandmothers. Am I wrong (maybe I dreamt I saw these rings). How did they find out? I bet you told them huh Sue :p
Hopefully I have given you all three right answers and one wrong one...maybe I've biffed. Oh well, I'll let ya know in a few days!

Hootie

Hootie 12-11-2001 05:28 PM

And the loser is....

ME!

I totally biffed this one up. I appologize ladies. I was doing some reading trying to find a good question to ask, and must have accidentally thought B was a correct answer when in fact both B and D are wrong. Headquarters has NEVER been in Kentucky, nor has it ever been in Arkansas. Origionally they wanted to build Founder's Hall, but the Chi Omega Greek Theatre replaced that as an emblem of Chi Omega's founding!
So, if you answered either B or D you are correct. If not, you are the weakest link GOOD BYE (j/k)!:D

You know, one of my advisors had told us something similiar to that b/c she had one. But like Hootie said they sell the badge rings (in the Eleusis no doubt, I just looked). The badge rings look like you just hook the badge on to it (and pray that it stays?!?). Is the rule that you can't physically alter the badge as far as welding it or something? In that case a badge ring wouldn't be against the rules. (??) I don't know, sounds confusing,:(

Wait...
According to our pledge manual Chi O's first Executive headquarters was in Lexiongton, KY in 1915. So Hootie that would make your question okay!!

Okay so I wasn't crazy?!?!?! LOL. Well, whew, I feel better. D is the correct (or should I say wrong) answer!
Give me a week to post another question. I think finals are doing me in!
